**FEMALE-FUELED HEADPHONE WARNINGS**

For a 90's seemingly Shonen anime, this series really let the men step back and let three of our adult female characters - Misato, Akagi, and the now-named Maya - step in and save the day from a seemingly fast-evolving angel "invasion."

While on the one hand being a fast-paced, tense, high-tech showdown that didn't involve a single blade swing from an Evangelion, on the other hand it was a deeper dive into Akagi's thoughts on her mother, creator of the Magi, and a look into several characters' views on humanity, evolution, and the "roles" we play in this world...and what is left behind.

I’d forgotten how smooth the animation was for this episode.

Yeah I find it interesting that you connect misato to the mother and there is countless times when akagi seemingly can't understand her decisions or thought processes... Especially interesting to me is that conversation when misato tells her she is having shinji live with her, which she finds crazy, then when misato jokes about not making a move on him she begins to yell... Then later says something about how's your new "boyfriend" with sort of a sarcastic and mocking tone... And connecting kaji to the woman you had initially noted that kaji is ironically in sort of a "femme fatale" role even though he is a man... Connecting to that as well akagi is seemingly unaffected by his charms in any way, unlike misato... Anyway yeah I have to say you are the best reaction person possible for this show and even for someone like me who has seen it a million times your insight is catching things I haven't and also confirming stuff that I've thought before... I seriously really appreciate it!

That is a really interesting note about her not connection to Misato's conversations; advances with Kaji -- it reminds me of Rei a lot (she DOES seem to connect and understand those that are not "adept" to living...maybe she's one of them, too?). And thank you so much for the kind words! I really appreciate that; I'm glad y'all got me hooked onto this show...now to see what's in store next week, eh? :) Thanks for the comment!
