Y'ALL. How I wish for longer and faster updates, but we don't live in a perfect world, eh? 

MY how the tables have turned, as Yashiro finds himself in a similar predicament as Doumeki at the start of this series and has accepted he's not worthy of any love unless it brings pain, in this case from the slime bag, Inami. 

I'm convinced that this woman Doumeki is "seeing" is really just teaching him some "tricks of the trade," but Yoneda Kou...how DARE you just leave us like that in this chapter!

The next chapter cannot come soon ENOUGH!

I felt like Yashiro was finally admitting to himself the real reason he went through so much trouble and lies to get rid of Doumeki (shooting him, pretending he's got amnesia). If Doumeki meant nothing to him, was just another underling who fell in love or was used a few times for some sex and tossed aside, then why did Yashiro have to drive him away so fiercely? If it was meaningless, he could just turn his back and forget it, laugh about it, find someone new almost instantly. But Yashiro did his version of running away from something that scared the shit out of him. He forced Doumeki out - "for his own good" - because that one taste of forbidden fruit made him crave more, made him want something he didn't think he would ever have, didn't want to have or even really believed in. Love. Not only does he think he doesn't deserve love but it scares him. Doumeki makes him feel things he hasn't felt ever, makes him vulnerable. And Yashiro doesn't *do* vulnerable, not since he was a child. No random sex with strangers or abusers is ever going to replace that memory. He knows now that it's possible for someone to truly love him, to care about him without wanting or needing to hurt him in the process or make him pay for it. No one will ever match that, so now he can't get anything out of being used the way he's accustomed to. where does that leave Yashiro? Going through the motions out of habit and maybe hope that this will fade eventually? It might have but now Doumeki is back, there will be no forgetting. And maybe someone isn't impotent with the right partner. I'm sure that woman isn't Doumeki's "woman" - a teacher of sorts makes sense. I could see them having some kind of deal - like she had a stalker (or several) who now leave her alone because she's "taken" and it gets the other guys off Doumeki's back about teasing him or trying to get him to play with the other girls. Definitely not long enough. I wonder if Yoneda-sensei is aiming for a ten-volume set. Oh god, that means nothing will be resolved between them for a very long time! We have this case, Mizumi wanting Yashiro back in the Doushinkai, Doumeki's status with the Sakura family, Kamiya must have some role to play, Doumeki's "woman" (and what about his sister?)...too many things going on to complicate and distract them from getting back together. GAH! Just kiss and make up already, damn it! I'm so glad I added them to my fanfic series - otherwise I might have gone insane from needing lovey-dovey moments between them, LOL!

I love how you phrased this comment! YES! Yashiro has never felt he deserves love and vulnerability takes him into that headspace of him as a child, and it makes sooooo much more sense when you go back to the first time they made love, that he had the flashback of him and his father, because that vulnerability crept in. And now we see the confirmation that he did run away, because he realizes it's love and it's a foreign concept he doesn't want to get involved with.... I agree that I think this woman is a teacher to Doumeki...honestly, the current plotline is "fine," but I'm VERY interested in Mizumi wanting Yashiro back and his somewhat antagonism towards Doumeki and how THAT is going to play in the future with everything? But yes, Doumeki. Yashiro. Kiss and make up. The tension is KILLER and we're still only on Volume 8...ahhh! Kou knows she has us in the palm of her hand! I may need to find some fan fics to tide me over, because the chapter was indeed too short! Thank you for the comment -- here's hoping the wait to Chapter 48 isn't that bad! @_@
