The Cultural Festival is here! And while Miyano is still trying to cement his feelings for Sasaki before he talks to him, he does agree to meet him for a DATE! A date at the festival -- LET'S GO!  I'm so excited!

I was getting major "Rin at the Samezuka Maid Cafe" vibes from Free! in this episode, especially when we see "Bad Boy" Sasaki -- my dude, you can keep that hairstyle as long as you like. This episode and the last have been SO GOOD! And we still have three more to go...

They are totally playing "Doctor", don't try to fool me with rational explanations and wholesomeness! Y'know, I'm not the type that's very fond of wholesome, realistic slowburns - not in my fiction and not in real life either, TBH. Give me the Saezuru version any day. I love Sasaki and Miyano - the characters - and the show/story has a lot of sweet or touching or funny moments to keep me interested but for me (just for me) this show sometimes...is a bit boring. And frustrating. Miyano seems artificially dunce-like at times for the sake of prolonging his confession because, c'mon, we all know he's going to answer Sasaki's confession with a "yes" eventually. At some point. By the last episode, at least. It's different reading the manga - you can plow through it at your own pace. He's been reading the sexy, racy types of BL for a while and I just can't accept that he is totally avoiding the issue of wanting to kiss or touch Sasaki to this degree. I'm certain the average teenage boy would have at least tried imagining it...you know, with some tissues handy. I know, I know - Miyano isn't average but still. I do appreciate him wanting to give Sasaki a decisive and thought-out answer but you can't tell me that making Sasaki wait 6 months or more isn't almost worse than just being flatout rejected. At least you can recover from a rejection. Anyway, a big part of me keeps thinking, This isn't a life-long marriage proposal when you're only 16/17. It would just be dating, which is the stage of getting to know each other for real (because the courting stage is often - like Sasaki does - putting your best face forward) and figuring out if it's going to work or not for the long-term. And just because you like kissing (and more) doesn't mean you're going to last either. Dating and love are always a risk of heartbreak. BUT...despite all my whining, I do have a good time watching the show. It's fun, it's sweet, and all the characters are extremely lovable. I could do with less floaty shapes, lol. I have to watch/read some more adult-focused stories in between these episodes to get my other fix :)

All your comments about communication...I kept thinking We're looking at you GIVEN. Miyano needs to have a discussion with the other red head, Mafuyu about communicating. Not sure if you noticed but there is a moment during the scene on the stairs with Sasaki and Hirano, you can hear Kagiura talking about going to the gum. He has his cameo's here and there. And Hirano's Inosuke leaks out during his bad boy appearance.

We need our redheads to dial each other up and TALK because Mafuyu could take a page from Sasaki at this point! ;) And ooooohhhhh, I don't know if I realized that or not, but that's awesome! Kaguira!! Now I NEED to see the spinoff of him and Hirano! After that soft smile in episode 8 from him looking at Kaguira? HAS. TO. HAPPEN. And ahhh! It's been so long since I've watched Demon Slayer, I need to go back and re-listen to that! But also, the fact that the same VA plays Hirano and INOSUKE is amazing! :D Thanks for the infoooo!

Playing Doctor! Hahahaha, fine, I'll take that! :D It's weird, I love the angst and emotions of Saezuru, which is almost a "reverse slow burn" - we get everything front-loaded, and then the mangaka's all, "Okay, now that's out of your system....PAIN AND SLOW BURN!" hahaha, but then, I also love MDZS, which is such a beautiful slow burn, too! I can agree about Miyano's "artificial dunce" personality at times, and I just want him to GET IT, but I know it's coming, so it's fine. :) I at least respect the consensual and communicative angle this story takes as opposed to other series, and Sasaki's respect is HAK-LEVEL patience! :) How did he not make the husbando poll?! I do like the idea that Sasaki views Miyano's waiting as a sign that it's POSSIBLE and not flat out rejection, like you pointed out. "I could do with less floaty shapes," BAHAHAHAAH -- I love it! Yeah, it's definitely a stylistic choice, but I'm okay with it; I get what you mean, though! I do love this series and it's wholesomeness -- it's been a nice balance to some other depressing series I'm viewing! :)
