I've loved Jean as a character since season 1, so for the second half of Season 4 to focus SO much on this journey as a character has been LIFE GIVING, Isayama! The pain, the choices, the heartache -- the beauty in this cruel world that we see in this episode with our King Jean...it's amazing!  

There's so much symbolism and discussion to be had with this episode, and I know I'm only scratching the surface! I can't wait to talk about it with y'all, though!

Was the translation of Annie, Jean and Reiner off in the end? I thought it was "I won't forgive you." That Jean said to Reiner and that Annie asked "What about me?" In an atoning way, rather than "apologize to me too." Way.

King Jean this episode omg of course immediate favorite episode for the focus on him alone but yes I had the same concerns from last episode with wanting to see how the secret plan took place but I had a feeling we'd see it play out the next episode & WE DO! I was so happy lol was very shocked by that intro with him dreaming of the future he wants😭Jean really is us, I wouldn't be the strong one to just be able to commit & give my life to the cause especially when Eren is giving them the "freedom" to not fight anymore & him going off on his own to finish it all. The first few minutes almost had me crying especially seeing Marco. I was done at that point. Beautiful scene. I loved the conversation with Hange & Jean. I get both sides & that's what makes this show so hard to watch. You understand but you feel hopeless with them. Mikasa looks beautiful this episode💙end of comment lol but no her taking a stand & Jean to continue to fight & see this through. Brave souls. The meet up we've all been waiting for. It was more than I ever expected. Also I know Mappa was getting backlash for putting branches in the scene of Reiner revealing how Marco passed but I absolutely loved it so I was shocked to see the backlash lol not only was it beautifully animated, like you said they are in the forest & in the end after they talk it out, they leave the forest. I also loved that I didn't have to see another Flashback of marco dying cuz it honestly makes my chest hurt everytime I see it & hear his screams so yes I wholeheartedly welcomed the beautiful branches & the purple sky💙Not feeling annie asking them if they can kill Eren. I get it. We have to prepare for anything but that's alot to process right now & it hurts thinking about them having to even talk about it. Loved Annie choosing to stop fighting & tell them her true reason for fighting in all of this. Beautiful. Yelena, thank you for getting all there mess out in the open cuz they are stubborn but also it hurts them to think about everything they've done. Jean being sly ignoring her & saying she's so thoughtful😂after her & Zeke are the reason so many scouts are dead now but then again all of them have blood on there hands😭crazy to see what they've become. King Jean confronting Reiner & Annie about Marco. Been wanting this for forever!!! I'm so happy Jean, Armin, Mikasa & Conny can have closure about Marco. You can rest now Marco I LOVE U!!😭💙but yes seeing Jean bash Reiner's face in I understand all that pain & rage. It hurts cuz I know how Reiner feels. I'm just happy they talked it out & listened to eachother. Gabi & Falco being pure souls & Magath realizing his actions the pain he's caused Gabi with her being in this war as a child. Beautiful episode, loved the King Jean focus, always a delight to see him shine but also be vulnerable & not always have it together. That's what makes his character & journey feel so real. Hange I'd like to eat some of your stew, Sasha would've loved it💙

I thought that's what Jean said to Reiner! And that makes sense with Annie asking for an apology -- we don't get an answer, which I find interesting, but I guess maybe it's an unspoken thing?

OUR KING!! I love it! Yeah, of COURSE this show had to show us Marco again, but we also got Jean’s fantasy, that BABY…*sigh* and our King, facing the biggest struggle of his life. “You feel hopeless with them.” That. THAT IS SO TRUE! That’s the show at this point! I agree, Mikasa looks gorgeous in this episode! Everyone has some bravery in this episode and honestly, I can see the backlash against the animation, but I honestly loved the symbolism and what it represented in this episode! And honestly, this show maybe will finally Marco rest in peace! Please, Isayama? PLEASE?! Yelena is there to stir the pot and make things messier; at least she’s not depressed anymore it seems. And yesss, the warriors telling Jean and the others the TRUTH. I love how Gabi, Falco, and Magath and Onyonkapon have NO CLUE who Marco is or what’s going on, but then Reiner’s getting his smashed in. The emotions were just SO good in this episode and seriously, I would have had Hange’s stew! I feel it was a good tribute to Sasha; agree! Thank you for the kind words and comment!
