*HEADPHONE WARNING*

98 chapters and nearly 800 pages...and our chaotic gremlin FINALLY puts it all together (with the help of Ship Captain, Xichen) and CONFESSES his love! Oh. My. Gosh. It was everything I could have hoped for and then some...who else confesses in a torrential downpour as their fate is on the brink of destruction? OUR WANGXIAN DOES!

These chapters were WONDERFUL -- between the confession, Yao's reveal as the antagonist, Su She slander that never ends, and Cheng's badass entrance (albeit squashed by Yao's Daddy Jin rhetoric), it was just a tour de force of emotions, and we're NOT DONE YET. Holy smokes.

Thank you for listening with me and for all the support!

Well... I do get where Xichen comes from with "His one and only mistake was you" but seriously? You're telling this just in the moment your ex has effectively tied and disabled you and is ready to kill anyone else but you to escape? Isn't your own ONE mistake quite a lot greater, huh? I am still kinda mad at all the people that bitch at Wangxian confession in the temple. Yes, it has a comedic undertone, yes, they are trying to deal with their feelings in the middle of a hostage situation but really, everyone is trying to get to spill their tea to Wuxian here. Xichen does, Yao does, Jiang Cheng very much does and still, boohoo, it it WangXian that spoils the book for those people. Nope. They make the scene so much better. And really, who did betray whom first, eh, Jiang Cheng? Who did leave his shixiong to the dogs? Also, Yao, what DID you expect after ramping up all that romantic atmopshere with candles and rain and bloody necks, hmm? That Wei Ying won't fling himself at Wangji and spoil your evil monologues? XD The one thing noone seems to get in The Untamed is why doesn't Wangji tell him anything. All the things he did for him, taking Sizhui into his home, defending him the whole way. Here we finally get it: he doesn't want Wei Ying to feel obliged to him, in any way. He wants their interactions to be a clean sheet, if Wei Ying so wishes, he doesn't want to say "I've done much good to your and yours own, aren't I great?". Cinnamon rolls, huh? Oh no, they are the most obnoxious PDA couple that makes out noisily in the movie theatre, never lets go of each other's hand and possibly leaves their sex tapes out in the open XD

This is why I was not satisfied with the donghua’s rearrangement of the scenes. Don’t get me wrong, the donghua had great visuals and did encapsulate those emotions really well (they happen nearly the same way), BUT I think the order of the events really affect the impact of them. In the donghua, by having Jiang Cheng’s breakdown after the temple and by himself instead of saying the words toward Wei Wuxian, Jiang Cheng’s arc gets no closure and so it makes sense for him to go into seclusion at the end of it. It’s a more somber end for his character. However, by allowing Jiang Cheng to have his breakdown in the temple and actually say these things to Wei Wuxian, it’s more hopeful. Plus it unpacks all the resentment that had been building up between them. It’s out in the open and actually gives Wei Wuxian a chance to finally understand where Jiang Cheng is coming from. Now, the CONFESSION!! I’m so glad the misunderstanding was really short-lived. I couldn’t take it if they decided to confess after everything with Jin Guangyao was sorted. This was so well-deserved and the perfect confession for Wangxian to have. The whole “Lan Zhan! Hug me! I am hugging you! Hug me tight!” scene is one of my FAVORITES. I’m livingggggg for the Wangxian domestic fluff!!! WE WAITED SO LONG AND IT WAS WORTH THE WAIT!!! I love how it’s so natural for them to be a couple once they’ve admitted that their feelings are mutual. Ahhh, we are getting to the end of the MDZS journey. I can’t believe we’re already almost at the finale!! I’m so excited to see your reaction, and I’m ready for more MXTX content afterwards!!

Hahahaha, I mean, SERIOUSLY, not the best choice of words, Xichen! @_@ And people complain about the confession! Oh, I think it's perfect -- it fits WuXian's chaos and Wangji's love of it so well! And SERIOUSLY, Yao egged it on, so he shouldn't be surprised that in the romantic chaos, we get this passionate makeout to spoil his evil monologuing...the entire set of chapters is just PERFECTION to me! That does make sense about The Untamed's choice for Wangji and Sizhui! But YES, obnoxious PDA-laden cinnamon rolls and I can't blame them a bit! Just their shameless love for each other at this point is wonderful! I love it! Thanks for the comment!

It allllll makes sense with the donghua, now, and why people weren't into it being rearranged. I really love the visuals and animation of the donghua, and The Untamed does so much with the emotion throughout with the characters, but this is perfection! I love how Cheng gets to have his breakdown and YES! I actually disliked how negative Cheng's future seemed to be portrayed in the donghua, whereas here (like you said), it's much more hopeful! I agree the conversation and air around Wuxian and Cheng is allowed to breathe and feel more natural in these moments. And YES! SO glad the angst was short-lived, because this confession is ridiculous and wonderful...just like WangXian likes it! And them hugging each other? Pure Sugar Coma. We waited so long for them just to be in domestic bliss and MXTX REWARDS US. Because yes, once they admit their feelings for one another, it all falls into place! I love it! I'm sad we're getting near the end of the journey, but excited for the remaining MXTX content we have! :) Thank you so much for the comment!
