This was...quite a setup episode! Unlike Episode 3, we don't really "conclude" an arc, more end Act 2 and set up for the final act. The pieces are all aligned on the board:

* Victor is with a surprising old mentor
* Jayce has become a leader...but at what cost?
* Marcus is pushed into a corner
* Vi and Caitlyn have been taken captive
* Jinx and Silco are alone and at personal lows...again

And there's this mysterious hexcore that cold do great wonders...or great destruction. I guess we'll find out which in Act 3, eh?

Thanks for watching with us and for the support!

Hiemerdinger probably is right about the Hexcore but i would also say that everything Jayce said about him was correct. Heimerdinger was a founder of Piltover and have been on the council since the very beginning, so all the problems in the undercity happend on his watch and he would have been in on all the decisions and laws that led to this inequality. The other council members can atleast claim ignorance and this is how it has always have been. Also it was only platitudes that Heimerdinger came with and as someone that loves science i'm always wary of stories where advancements and progress aren't the right answers. But when the advancements demand blood sacrifices i might have to agree. Still the underhanded/backstabby way Jayce did it wasn't great. As someone that sees Mel in a slightly better light i had a different view of the scene at her painting. With her being pissed at Jayce for his "dine and dash" she might be somewhat invested, perhaps more then she herself might have expected (could also just be some hurt pride). But her demeanor when Jayce confided in her with his genuine feelings/intent i think shows how she was really surprised, that he would would come to her with all this. As stated Mel apperantly didn't live up to her familys standards and she isn't originally from Piltover. She probably mostly knows the scheming, disingenuous interactions of the council, so she didn't see it coming. Mel also softens up and gives some good advice, 'whatever we are, or are not, you should go be with your dying friend, he needs you more then i do right now'. I think the "merchant" really did care for Vi but sadly is addiction got the better of him and he couldn't resist. Not sure if it's implied that "the mutation" is what allowed Singed to come up with shimmer or if shimmer is something he invented to keep it alive. When i first watched it i thought of shimmer as something that originally came from or was extracted from poor Rio, but i can see it being the other way.

It's definitely frustrating because both sides have a "point" and some stake in the argument (sounding familiar to another series or two I'm watching, hahaha). That's a good point too about the difference between advancement and progress and those that require the lives of other innocent people. *tugs at shirt collar* I do think the way Jayce did it was not in the best of tastes, either, though. @_@ And aahhhh, I think I understand more about what you mean with Mel, having just watched a "certain episode," but I'll wait until we get to that point. Reading your comment in hindsight, knowing what's known now, has DEFINITELY shed more light...and I think you point out something interesting with her, there. I love how she paints to express herself, though. It is sad that the merchant's addiction outweighed his caring for Vi, and that's interesting -- I'd never thought of Shimmer coming directly from Rio...I saw him as using the flowers to create it and try to "heal" Rio, but seeing how adamant he was about keeping Rio alive...that definitely could have been the case, too! :) Thanks for the comment!

Both sides having valid points? Things not being black and white? Characters trying to do what they think is right and just making things worse? I'm sure i have no idea what other show you are talking about. Maybe i should have bit my tongue and just let you see things play out with Mel, but i never saw her quite as negative as many others did at first. Perhaps i'm more of a "hate the game not the player" kinda person, or maybe Mels... charms just worked to well on me too (i get you Jayce).

Right?! Noooooooo connections, whatsoever. ^^ And no worries! My brother was giving me glances when I'd talk about Mel that basically "said" what you were saying, haha! I definitely think it's a "hate the game not the player" set up with her, too -- and Ha! Jayce's dilemma is relatable, I'm sure! Mel is certainly capable of woo-ing others! :)
