**Headphone Warning, Me Thinks?**

Yona and Yun go undercover to infiltrate Yan Kumji's ship and rescue the women aboard, but things do NOT go 100% as planned -- luckily, Yona, Yun, and the women they're rescuing show some incredible courage...but is it enough? Will our dragons be able to make it to their ship in time? Why do I sound like the Dragonball Z narrator?!

Yona, my girl, was SO good this episode -- I'm loving her so much as a protagonist, as this episode had me on the edge of my seat!

Thank you for watching with me and for all the support!

This reaction took me back to my first time watching the anime. It’s just so good: tension, action, characterization wise. The panic in the moments that involved Yona and Yun was so relatable. I remember so well the feeling of wanting to jump in the screen and fight the people kicking and punching Yun when I first watched it. And you’re so right about every punch and kick feeling real. It’s something I enjoy about Akatsuki no Yona. The injuries are taken seriously and not brushed off, adding to the realism of the series. Onto characters, Yona is such a great protagonist. I love how realistically Akatsuki no Yona depicts the growth of it’s characters. Although Yona has grown tremendously, she is still allowed to be scared and vulnerable. And I feel like that is highlighted well in this episode. The way she prioritizes the woman, inspires them, and stands up to the Kumji and his men but still is scared for her and Yun’s safety. And the same thing goes for Yun ! Arguably the MVP of the episode. I love his introspection on his past self and the courage he shows in this episode. Yona and Yun aren’t as physically strong as the dragons or Hak. To say they are not strong at all is just not true (referring to the way Yona and Yun refer to themselves sometimes *bonk them on the head*) Also I’m so glad you like the banter between the boys. Their interactions are great. I’m sure you understand where we were all coming from now when we explained that it really is more so a found family. They all have different relationships with each other. So many of my favorite moments in the series are between two of the boys. And this is only the beginning like you mentioned! You’re in for a wild ride of complex, meaningful relationships between everyone. Speaking of the boys, there is one last thing when it comes to the conversation between Kija and Jae-ha that I want to comment on. I think it says a lot about Kija’s character that he’s able to respect Jae-ha in this scene. And what I mean by that is he does not try to force his opinion onto Jae-ha as to why he’s worried about Yona, telling him it does not matter as long as they both want to save her. Even though his values were called into question and was disrespected by him earlier, he does not let that stop him from trying to relate to Jae-ha here. It shows that Kija has grown. That he can be the bigger person. How kind and earnest he is at heart. I also think this moment was great for Jae-ha. It’s through moments like this where Yona doesn’t force him to join, Kija does not push a narrative onto him, that actually draws him towards the group, haha. You gotta respect his boundaries to get somewhere with this boy. Anyways, I wouldn’t blame you if you watched ahead considering this episode. Thank you for the reaction. I hope you’ve enjoy your week :)

Be Happy

I really really fell hard in love with this series!! I finished it yesterday night just before you post this reaction so it was a great bonus for me to see it with you again. What to say ! This episode was so realistic yet so good!! It shows how Yona grows and that she has real purpose now, she sees the world from a different angle, not being the sheltered princess anymore!! But God that fire in her eyes is enthralling !! You are right, I thought with the Fire Tribe it was just that they see her differently is what paralyzed them, but here with Kumji we have the confirmation that there is some phenomenon that is resulted with her being in that zone and having the fire in the eyes ( red Dragon maybe!) i don’t know and I am EAGER to start the manga alongside you!! Hak 😍 if that man don’t win the husbando poll , I am gonna riot 🤣🤣 (sorry Eren and Levi) Jeeha is wonderful, sarcastic, flirty and adorable, I think he has something for Yona other that the dragon blood bound.. and him and Kija bickering is everything , while best boy Shinha watching from distance. Yun , oh Yun, he came a long way from the beginning and had grown so much , I love how he loves Yona and want to take care of her like a sister .. he wants to be there like the dragons and Hak but loathes that he lacks the strength but he has so much stength inside. This anime really touches me, the romance is wonderful, the plot is great and let see many things to come and I am here for it.. AND FOR GOD’S SAKE YONA , OPEN YOUR EYES!!🤣🤣🤣🤣

YES! There was so much tension in this episode, and I loved it! I felt so much for Yun and Yona this episode! I can’t imagine NOT having their panic in this situation – and YES! Yun getting beat up like that was SO hard to watch! Yes, the injuries have WEIGHT in this series – definitely adds to the realism. I love Yona as a protagonist – her growth has been so wonderful this season while not making her a different character; I agreed with your thoughts about her and Yun! Yun is SUCH the MVP of the episode, I agree! And he’s still self-loathing, nooooo! You are strong, handsome genius boy! 😊 Yessss, I love our interactions between the boys and cannot WAIT to see more in the manga! Ooh, that is a great note about Kija – that is an awesome part about his growth; I hadn’t noticed that, but you’re so right – at the beginning, I don’t think he would have reacted the same way. 😊 Yona’s had a positive influence on him, eh? And Jae-ha growing, too, I like that – they give him freedom of choice, and thus he gravitates more towards them. 😊 Respecting boundaries is the way to his heart! Thank you so much for the kind words and comment! Have a great rest of the week, too! Next week will be interesssssting! :D

I definitely have fallen in love with this series, too! :) :) And I cannot wait to finish the season and dive into the manga! And I agree -- I love the growth of Yona over the course of this series -- it's so realistic and I love her "power" just intimidates those near her! I think it's the red dragon, too, but I guess we'll see, eh!! And ahahahahahaha, I'm keeping all personal bias aside, but I think Hak's qualities are going to take him far in the Husbando poll! :) And Jae-ha is so charming and wonderful; he's definitely my type of character! And I think he's coming around to liking Yona for who she is as well! And Shinha is definitely a BEST BOY! :) Kija is just too cute with his bickering with Hak or Jae-ha -- definitely "middle brother" vibes! :) And I love Yun's growth as well -- he was MVP of this episode! And Hak....*sigh* what else can we say? I definitely love this anime but I am with you -- YONA! Get it, girl! :D Thanks for the comment!!

Yun's character development is pretty underrated. He changed a lot through out this season. His bond with Yona is so sweet and I love their sibling energy. The scene with the fire in Yona's eyes is iconic. I may have fallen in love with her even more. Welcome to the Kija/Jae-ha shipping Club. We're happy to have you. XD Not Jae-ha getting red by Kija's words. Kija looked really pretty in that shot so I can't blame him. I think what makes Yona finally using the bow on her own so powerful is that we saw how much she trained with it. Also so many people think Shojou's are just romance series but there are so many shojou's out there that doesn't have that. The same with Shounen, it isn't always just action, there are popular shounen romances. Wish you a wonderful day!!

Yun HAS grown so much and I love it! They definitely have a sweet, sibling-like bond; and yessss, Yona with the FIRE! She definitely climbed several notches in this episode and in that moment with me -- and Hahaha, I'm glad there's a Kija/Jae-ha Shipping Club and that you're all so welcoming! :) Can't say I blame either of them for shipping with one another. Yessss, Yona's practice this entire series finally paying off! I love that it's something that's not just a half-hearted thing; it's so tied to her character and growth! And yesss, if Banana Fish and this series have taught us ANYTHING, it's that Shojou's are NOT just mushy-gushy romances. :) Shonen romances?! What ones are you thinking of? **takes out notebook** Thank you for the kind words and have a great day, too!
