ISAYAMA, YOU SECRET KEEPER! You sneaky serpent -- things are being set up in this episode...you can FEEL IT, but as to WHAT is being set up? Something TITANIC, I'm sure...something sinister? Most likely. But Eren, Zeke, WILLY (this man, I tell you), and Magath...there are multiple sides of the board moving simultaneously and Isayama is being quite vague about it...or seems to be for now.  

I feel like this episode will be one to go back and watch in hindsight, but I'm not there yet. In the meantime, join me as I ramble through my suspicions and probably-wrong theories and take a gander at the Anti-Reiss family of Tyburs and our Marleyan kids enjoying probably their last fun time before everything hits the fan...

Marley really missed out on making those propaganda Cart Titan action figures for kids! It would come with an initial set of gear accessories, plus you can purchase extra ones for $, it's such a sustainable business model. Plus it'll come standard with figurines of Pieck in both standing and crawling form. Antman from Endgame: "As far as I am concerned, that is Marley's ass!" o7 Isn't it obvious who the War Hammer Titan is? It's obviously that senile bald grandpa sitting on the chair. I bet he's alot like Santa Claus Titan, a crazy old coot who constantly shits his pants, but underneath his jaded exterior is a heart of gold and the combat experience of a thousand wars 👴 About your comment about Free Willy being Lucifer. One of the lines in the Season 4 OP they sing in the background (in the soldiers marching scene), "Angels playing disguised ... With devil's faces ..." On a last note, Reiner's role in this series is to literally suffer ... mentally, physically, spirtually, and even financially! 💰

Now imagine having to wait 2 weeks after this aired for the next one because of the Christmas/new year break. ‘‘Twas fun times in the fandom! It’s VERY difficult to comment on this reaction as there’s a lot of subtext and foreshadowing happening and of course I don’t want to spoil anything for you. Let’s just say I’m glad you go through the episodes frame by frame because it’s definitely needed. All I’ll say it’s that when other watches in general got confused later in the season it’s because they didn’t pay enough attention to these kind of episodes. So just keep everything in the back of your mind as this SHIT GOT LAYERS. Classic Isayama am I right?! Haven’t commented on it in previous episodes but I’m glad you are now noticing Magath. His characterisation is brilliant and is definitely somebody to keep your eye on as his views are fascinating. Also RIP Reiner’s wallet and RIP ME when I saw Reiner’s lil smile 😩 and RIP to your sanity with the rest of the season. Good luck! You’ll need it! To end some more cool facts * Hizuru - means ‘rising sun’ which is kinda a play on Japan as Japan means ‘land of the rising sun’ * The song that plays at the very end where Reiner sees Eren is ‘YOUSEEBIGGIRL’ which is the same song that plays at the very end of 2x6 Warrior (as you would say PARALLELS!!!!)

Alright!! That was a great reaction and review, the discussion is so detailed and clever, I can listen to you breakibg down those episodes all day. I feel your angst girl, this episode has that sense of dread that you don’t know what nor how , you can’t put your finger on it exactly but it’s there and you are certain that it is coming.. a lot of spot on things you pointed, as usual 😉 Great catch about the baseball glove, a lot of reactors didn’t even notice it, it was one of the things I told you in my comment on ep 1 that you re gonna catch and especially with the frame by frame 😁 I laughed when you said Willy is very theatrical, and as you ve seen déclaration of war, well let’s say , it is just the accurate description 😁 As for the discussions betwee Willy and Magath , I LOOOOVE all the subtext and codes they are using. It’s normal to not talk straight especially in the theater by day. If you notice Magath is a no nonsense man, he is worried about the state of actual Marley, the useless wars and useless military. He doesn’t want or seek power, he wants to change things, giving us a vibe of something in between Erwin Smith and Keith Shadis. So it is not far fetched to assume that when he evokes the house that need restructuring, it was the military he was talking about now that he is the new marechal, also what a wonderful transition to Eren (enemy) and Falco (collaborator without knowledge) just after Magath said that there were rats infesting !! Ugh Isayama you subtle master. Also that line Eren said in the beginning : I want to tell my family that I am here and that I am fine’ it can be interpreted in soo many ways it s crazy : was he talking about the scout? About Zeke ? What’s going on ? And why oh why , did he choose to be a wounded soldier and stay in the hospital at first place ?? Intriguing !!! Was it to just have a chat with granpa and trigger a breakdown 🤨🤔🤔 (how did he know he was there in the first place?) was it for some other motives?? Who knows!! And poor poor Falco, he just ended without knowing any hope to be a worrior Lastly , that masterful insertion of YOUSEEBIGGIRL from S02ep06 with Reiner terrified face when he sees Eren and knew the repercussions of his presence here is perfection !! This episode is like and intense foreplay before the main event 😂😂

There you go, finally a bit of romance in AoT... too bad Gabi is a dense shounen manga protagonist and can't figure it out even if Falco hits her with a signpost. Noting how Colt talks up Gabi was a great spot, I've never seen a reactor notice that (and it hit me only after reading/watching it several times). We don't really get that much of Colt here, but there are some other scenes where he does it (like on the midnight train). So much going on in the background... Last season when you were all "Isayama is doing the Shakespeare") I almost posted something like "I wonder what we'll get next... characters disguising themselves? A play within a play?" but had to stop myself because it's a bit too transparent. Great discussion but I can't say much more. You know what we're all looking forward to, and it's only a couple more days...

I know we love to appreciate everyone's character development especially Reiner's so far but we've gotta appreciate how far Eren's acting has come😂He's become an amazing actor now with his Eren Kruger facade lol throwback to S2E10 when he was putting on that terrible "nice guy" face to Reiner😂😂😂😂Our boys are grown up now. It's time to get serious. That cliffhanger kills me everytime. What a way to make your presence known Eren. Can't wait for next episode!⭐🙌🏽💙

Marley really missed the boat with Warrior merchandise...Armored Titan figurines with detachable armor? Beast Titan figurines with swinging arms? Marley wouldn't have needed to have gone to Paradis because of the capital they could have gained from selling all those propaganda toys! I kid, I kid....but anyway... I mean, clearly it's the grandpa. Makes total sense -- why subject these children to becoming Warriors when grandpa can do the job? And yesssssssss, a Patron on Tumblr sent me a rock cover of the OP and I saw that line and hmmmm....indeed....*strokes chin thoughtfully* And seriously, Isayama is just not lettin Reiner catch a break. Ohhhh, I don't envy ANYONE in the fandom that had to wait that long for the next episode...yikes. I really appreciate you not spoiling me! Hahaha, I've watched...a little ahead...and I have a feeling before the next episode I watch, I'm going to have to go back and re-watch this episode and another few before moving forward -- just to try and piece it all together and MAGATH IS fascinating! Ooohhhh, there's a lot of theater going on, and I have a feeling the next week or two I'm going to be trying to break it all down...*grabs head* Isayama, whyyyyyy....but YES! Colt and Reiner both with the same goals of saving their family by using the others' -- a nice metaphor for this whole situation, eh? Hmmm.... And if Gabi and Falco could get out of all this okay and be together as adults...I'd be all for that. I am hoping for that! I really loved this episode and the angst that's being set up, though...not a fan of that! @_@ The baseball glove intrigues me, but I'll be excited to see how it all comes out in the wash! And Willy and Magath's relationship is SO interesting! Magath definitely gives off a Keith vibe...with a dash of Erwin, I agree. Yeah, "What's Going On" indeed! And yeah, how DID he know to go there...hmmm...I'm so curious! This episode is definitely foreplay, and I'd argue the next is as well -- but it's all leading to a dreaded crack, and I'm not ready for that at all! About the guards in the interment camp first thing I think even if they wanted to help them, if they did anything Marley would have killed them in a second . And second you got to consider the fact that there is a spectrum in every group of people and there can be people more in the middle that doesn’t treat them like garbage but doesn’t try to change the whole country and world.
