Irene's "deal with the devil" (seriously, the color symbolism in this episode!), Ol' "Sherly's" compassionate heart, Mycroft's family secret, and all the little twists and turns with the "Lord of Crime" syndicate -- it all made for an excellent conclusion to our first arc of the new cour!   

I'm a little worried that Irene won't be a big player in this second part (don't spoil me), but I am excited to see the possibilities for William and Sherlock from here on in...and what crimes are to be planned, now that the government is seemingly stepping aside! @_@

Sherrinford was another Holmes brother, but the name originally the one of the drafted names for Sherlock, before Doyle settled on Sherlock. I think he was the eldest before Mycroft because of Victorian rules of heirs and their jobs, but its been a while, so I could be wrong. I think my favourite part of the symbolism is that in the church, it's abandoned, there's nothing alive there other than Sherlock. And then we drop down, and we see that there are vines on the walls, there are things alive and growing there, and there's the now-six of Team Crime Time. The difference in the little things blows me away. The little things for the copyright, like the "e" at the end of Bonde, is why good stuff got left out. Like Albert's secretary. Who I love, she's fun, and she has a gun and kills a man. Mycroft mirroring Albert and William here, but it's subtle. I've mentioned before, but it's briefly mentioned that they wanted to keep Louis "pure" and keep him out of the Lord of Crime things (which is why we don't see him participating as much), much like how Mycroft keeps the secret of Sherrinford from Sherlock. You can almost see that understanding in William when Mycroft tells him. How I imagine Albert and Fred were overhearing Sherlock and Irene's goodbye: "There's not enough wine in the world to get me to tell William any of this." "Mmmm... Let's just not."

I don’t want to spoil you anything big, so I’ll just say that until the end of the anime we won’t meet Irene anymore… We will have James Bonde as another character instead!😋 So don’t worry, please! I guess they didn’t make her “Moriarty”, because only the three brothers can bare this surname. Irene, on the other hand, suits to play the same role Fred and Moran have. I’m glad that with the help of Irene we got to see more of the soft side of Sherlock. We’ve already seen it from John’s perspective a little bit, now from Irene’s and finally there’s only William’s left. So excited! I’d recommend you to read the 31st chapter of the manga after you watch the next arc. Unfortunately, the animators didn’t animate it, even though it captures Sherliam’s chemistry SPLENDIDLY. It also gives you more insight on their relationships in general, and will make you understand the final episodes of the anime better. Without reading it in advance, you might get confused a little bit in the end. Thank you for reaction, and happy new year!

Ooohhh!! I had to record ahead so I've watched the next episode already! 😭😰 That is exciting, though to get more SherLiam Goodness when I get to the manga, though!! And yes, Bond and Watson have seen Shelby be soft...now we can only hope for William! :) :)

Hahahaha!! I definitely am looking forward to the manga and that makes so much sense with Sherrinford; I was trying to remember the connection to the actual stories! Albert's secretary sounds great -- that's exciting to know there's a lot more to see after the series!

Oh whew this episode...we finally meet James Bond(e) (guess they had to add that 'e' in order to avoid copyright from the author, like they left out other stuff that was in the manga but not the anime). Moriarty is a special surname after all and it is only meant for the three brothers. You did see that kid from the beginning before. He is the leader of the bakerstreet irregulars that help Sherlock out sometimes. But wow even now that whole talk with Mycroft and finding out that William has already planned the end of the Moriartys...still shocking. I love the tidbit with Sherrinford Holmed, knowing that it was the prototype for Sherlock by Doyle himself. Also knowing that they plan to be the common enemy and be killed that way puts some of the lyrics from the first opening into perspective for me...Anyway this was another great episode and great reaction. Thank you so much and I wish a good 31st and a good and healthy start into 2022. See you and stay well :)

I'm sorry, Romania, I made a little mistake, lmao. I meant "after the next arc" instead of "next episode"! And I apparently finished editing the comment, when you had already replied. In the manga, the 31st chapter goes after jack the ripper arc, so you'll not miss out on anything!
