Y'all say this is a "happier" episode this season... *nervous chuckle* Well, that makes me...fearful of the rest of the series, haha!

This standalone episode was so emotionally charged -- I'm a big sucker for romance, and that was the core of this OVA -- it was SO sweet and the message of love being "worth it" was wonderful as well. And as always, the animation was gorgeous, and I love seeing the banter between Lu and Cheng, of course. ^^ A nice "breather," huh, before diving back into the rest of the season? Cool, cool.

Thank you for watching with me and the support!

P.S. I realized after I uploaded this that I forgot to edit out a spot where Funimation lagged and I had to refresh it. Apologies! Just ignore me refreshing. >.<

This episode is definitely a neat, nice and also touching breather in-between our formal business haha. The photos in the end were collected from the Chinese viewers after the release of this series. Basically these photos bear great significance in the life of the takers. One is about graduating from high school, another about the quarantine when the pandemic broke out, and another showing a bouquet given by her adopted little sister. Some of the stories that these photos contain might be selected into the series or OVA. And this really resonates well with the quote in this episode: "Not searching for unusual subject matter but making the commonplace unusual." Lu is able to tell Cheng how to move is not because he's a good video game players (he's probably the weakest among the three hahaha) but because he can see what will happen in the photo. So he knows what the martial art master's next move is and tells Cheng how to dodge it. The chibi episodes come out once a month, and they are not long, usually about five minutes. I CANNOT wait for you to get to the rest of the series. I'm just too excited!

Wasn't that sweet (or touching, I guess)? They were a couple all these years, just not officially married, so they had a kid(s). I believe this one aired on or near Valentine's Day. It does give us a nice break between the darker stories. I think I mentioned it in the last comment, but the show's creators asked fans to send in a photo of a time or moment that was important in their lives with a little message about what the picture represents to them. I wish the little notes had been translated but they aren't related to anything going on in the show plotwise. I think that one scene - she is saying "that ancient thing" about the message she sent him, not the phone itself (that style has been around from the 90s) but yeah, the timing vs their age at the end is a little weird. I think it was her declaration of love or wanting to marry him (they should have translated that as well), which he's saved on that phone (maybe even keeps moving from phone to phone). It's too hard to tell ages in animation, lol and they tend to exaggerate people over 50 into ancient-looking (aside from martial arts masters who apparently stay tall and regal until they drop). The main couple are probably in their 50s at the end - that climb would age anyone!

It would SO make sense that this aired on Valentine's Day! It was actually a nice, romantic episode, even if the couple wasn't our main duo, haha! And yeah, that is really sweet with the photos, and I remember that now! Thank you for the reminder about that! Yeah, the timeline is a little odd, but I can see that it's just the animation making them look older --I was like, MAN! My parents are in their 50's and don't look that old, but maybe genetics...hahaha!! That is true about that climb, though! @_@ Thanks for the comment!

That makes sense with the photos; I'm glad y'all clarified that for me! But this was a touching, cute episode overall to give us a nice "breather" in between episode 5 and 6 -- and OH! That makes sense with Lu knowing what will happen next, so that's how he can tell him to move...what a cheater! XD That makes sense, though! Ooh, that's sad the chibi episodes only come out about once a MONTH -- I wonder how many in total there will be? Hmmm...I might just react to them in groups once we get to the new show? Hmmm...I need to think about that. But I am SO excited for the rest of the series! I took a little break after this episode with Link Click ( to recover ) but I'm ready to dive back in! :D :D Thanks for the kind words and comment!

It seems like we'll get chibi episodes until the release of S2, so no idea how many episodes they have in total :)

Ooohhh, interesting; maybe I'll wait and see how many we end up with and react to them right before Season 2...I'll have to think about it! :)

This was a sweet story. I’m so impressed by the amount of thought and care they put into things like the timing of the episodes (the earthquake anniversary, Valentine’s Day) and connecting with the fans. I’m assuming this is really popular in China, and that’s no surprise. It would deserve it even without that extra touch. But I wonder how many anime do things like that. I haven’t heard of it before..

Yesss, the connection to their audience is something that is really special about this show! :) I've not heard of a lot of shows going to the lengths this one does, but I'm all for it! <3
