There's a LOT to go through in this episode -- two "extras," nearly four chapters of the novel (TWO Audio Drama episodes) and some manhua goodness -- we're about to dive straight into the Yi City arc, y'all, but not before some lovely WangXian antics! ^^

I enjoyed your reaction so much! I love these episodes, especially Wuxian teaching those young disciples. Yes, Wuxian can be full of shenanigans, but he is also such a great teacher! Like you said, I like how Wuxian and Ling bonded along the way. In fact, it is not only baby Ling but also the "younger generation" of the cultivating world. These kids are less blinded by the prejudices and grudges held by their parents' generation, and they have a chance to know who Wuxian truly is without all the wrongful assumptions about the Yiling Patriarch because they still think he is Mo Xuanyu at the moment. Remember at the final episodes of the donghua, it was these young disciples stood out for Wuxian in the cave when their parents all thought that Wuxian was trying to kill them. Although the story makes references to the mob mentality all the time, at least it ends with a lighter note for me to know that the cultivation world of the next generation will be in a better hand. About the spicy congee extra, it was hilarious. Cheng and Wuxian are from the same place (Yunmeng) and it refers to the Hubei province in modern China. It is a place known for spicy cuisines, so why wouldn't Cheng tolerate chilies in congee lol. Actually, all the clans in MDZS can be mapped to real world China, and AvenueX wrote an interesting blog article about it. She also has other amazing articles explaining the significance of characters' names, weapon names, etc. If you are interested, you could check it out! https://avenuex.ca/blog/2019/9/12/places-of-the-untamed-where-they-are-in-the-real-world

Anastasia -

Just a quick mention, "taking off one's clothes" in that period probably meant "stripping down to 1-2 layers" lol - for gentry, of course, not common people. Even when bathing, it can be a thin clothes layer considered as "not clothing but some last resort". It's interesting that manhua really did go for naked XD I stumbled upon that piece of explanation when reading the cursed Jin Ling part, when WWX takes off his clothes to check for a curse mark - then it's very obviously not to the nakedness point! Ahh... there is not much to say this time. Just that yeeeah voice actors do a glorious work, all of them. And listening to A-Qing's story will be heartbreaking as it is each time.

Ahhhh, that makes sense! Yeah, I'm glad that's the case, too, if to spare our poor Baby Ling some dignity! :) :) Thank you for that! Now I'm thinking of Soo-won in Yona of the Dawn with his bathing scene; makes more sense! :) But yesssss, I'm so excited to get to the backstory from Episode 3 of the donghua season 3! :) Thanks for the info!!

Thank you so much for the kind words and comment! I love WuXian/Disciple shenanigans, and he's actually a great role model for them when he's not trolling! :) And yesss, those moments with the disciples will all have repercussions later on! I like the idea that the next generation looks to be better than the last! :) And thank you for that article about all the places from China where the locations are based in; there are so many beautiful places listed in that blog; that was neat to read! :D
