This series has a bizarre, dark sense of humor -- and I'm ALL HERE FOR IT! An OVA that deals mainly with Jean, one of my favorite characters in the show? Yes, please! Even when he was still bratty, this was really enjoyable...despite its madness towards the end!

And then you shift gears with "Distress," and even though I know these characters are going to live (for now), the OVA manages to get you invested and creates tension with these characters...as only Attack on Titan can!

NOTE: I've re-watched "A Sudden Visitor" and realized the ENTIRE OP is Jean-centered...I'm DYING, y'all. *swoons*

bisexual jean supremecy! jean protection Fanclub as well. I'll be the founding member. Sudden Visitor OVA Thoughts "cooking, cleaning throw whatever you like at me..." Jean...Idk how to tell you this, my boy, but I think you're a housewife lmao. But in all seriousness, I love this boy. As always seeing Marco hurts 100% never forget. Seeing some of my rare pair of Armin/Jea-. I couldn't help but be a little upset with Jean with how he spoke to his mum in front of every one oof- but I can also say that I 100% backtalked my mother as an angsty teen *sigh* simpler times indeed. Armin having both legs broken when he only fell on one? Peak comedy. and yes all of this in a night haha. The cooking montage? loved that. Needlessly epic which made it even better. Also, the face-off looked like a survival cooking show. Distress OVA thoughts -saw Marco was sad -nothing really just kinda vibed with it. -the show knew what they were doing at the end there with Marco and his little Jean leader speal. Sadness on maximum.

I find it hard to comment on anything, since it is indeed all just light-hearted stuff to give the audience a brief reprieve. So instead i'll say that Food Wars is pretty good. I think it is hurt by its very risqué approach to the culinary arts and that reputation prevents a lot of people from giving it a fair shot - Episode 1 already gives you an idea of how things are going to be a lot of the time, so i can't fault anyone for dropping it instantly. But if you stick with it, it actually is well-rounded and far from the one-dimensional borderline-hentai people might expect, though i'd be lying if i said that it ever completely "matures" for the lack of a better word. I guess i'd say that it adopts a very clear self-awareness. And yeah, it's just fun imo, can recommend. But if your brother is such a fan of Food Wars and he's not aware of "How heavy are the dummbells you lift ?" - original title "Dumbbell Nan Kilo Moteru ?", i'd say it's different, but also similar in ways that i think someone who enjoyed Food Wars might appreciate as well. I think i'll leave it at that as to not color expectations too much :)

Ahh, thank you for the Food Wars analysis and recommendation! I might let that be a show I watch with my brother -- he's actually made some of the dishes that were on the show (my brother's a good cook), and they turned out really good, so that's interesting! I'm not sure if he's watched Dumbbell Nan Kilo Moteru, but somehow it rings...a bell. *Badum Tisss* I feel like I've heard it before, so I'll have to ask him! Thanks!

Sign me up for the Bisexual Housewife Jean K. Agenda! I'm here for it! And Armin x Jean, hmm? I'm not going to lie -- it crossed my mind watching season one. I didn't list them as one of my ships in the Recap Video, because Jean x Marco is just such an OTP, but you know...season two may change my mind. Armin needs some love, too! Yeah, Jean's language with his mom hurts, but its so relatable because it reminds us he's literally a tall teenager. :3 Simpler times, indeed! And yes, the comedy in this was off the wall and insane...but after the chaos of season one, SO needed! And yeah, show did NOT have to bring Marco back with that dialogue. But they did. Because they like to see us suffer. Sadness on maximum, agreed. No regrets, though! :)

The Jean focus is everything. And the OP?! Sometimes Jean stans are really winning. I really like how you can see through this OVA how much Jean actually changed. He was pretty annoying at first. XD Jean bisexual king? Hell yes. It kinda hurted when he talked so bad to his mother. She's such a sweetheart. At least he realized how much she was there for him at the end. Sasha looked so pretty in the dress. Not Marco making me almost cry at the end. XD I really miss him. Wish you a wonderful day!!

I felt so bad for not noticing the OP when I was reacting, but going back and re-watching? I've watched it half a dozen times, now; I love it so much! The Jean stans really won in this OVA! I love that after season one, we can really see how much he's grown over the span of the season -- and he was able to realize how much his mother care! :3 Also, yes, bisexual king in my books. We stan our king. And yessss, Sasha can rock a dress, and Marco can still give us a gut punch of emotion! Thanks for the kind words and have a great day, too!
