Tanba, my DUDE! @.@ The practice game before the national qualifiers is underway and a snag poses the risk of throwing off all of our boys' momentum...but the coach is not going to take this sitting down!

These episodes were crazy! Transitioning from tragedy to a triumphant roar of confidence as we go into the qualifiers...260 teams...and it's JUST TOKYO. I think I might know why this series is so long, now...

Love these episodes! I remember how shocked I was with Tanba’s injury the first time I watched!! Especially since they built him and his relationship with the rest of the team so much. I just love how much this anime manages to surprise me. And we got introduced to one of Seido’s rival teams, Inashiro. I LOVE MEI! He is one of my favorite characters. So good, can’t wait until you see more of him and the rest of his team. 💕 And next week we are starting the official games! From now on, the anime is just perfection. ps. I think you remember something a bit wrong. It wasn’t established that Miyuki is a weak hitter, what they said was that Miyuki is an inconsistent hitter that is unable to hit well unless there’s a runner on base.

These were sooooo good, but yeah, we just built Tanba up and he already has another injury! But I love how everyone instantly gravitates around Tanba as the ace and wanting to do things to make him proud and support him! :3 And Mei!! Oh my gosh, yessss, I really like him already and I can't wait to hopefully see more of him! And I'm so excited for this qualifier to get underway! Ahh, thank you for that clarification about Miyuki being inconsistent and wanting a runner on the base -- I've already recorded next week's episodes, but I'll have to make a note of that for the next set! Thank you! :D

Love your reaction! And you've finally met Mei! I wasn't sure how you would take his character, I remember a lot of mixed opinions when he was first introduced. People either loved him or hated him haha. I'm glad you like him! He interested me from the start since he's one of the very few who call Miyuki by his first name, so that got my attention and now after finishing the anime I really do appreciate his character. On a side note, one thing I wanted to mention is that it isn't that Miyuki is bad at batting, Miyuki is what we call a clutch hitter, he does well under pressure and performs best when the stakes are high, hence why he does well with runners on base since there's a chance of scoring and just so-so when there's no one ready to make a run or the team is in no danger of losing. Kinda suits his twisted personality haha! These episodes flew by so fast! The show has done a pretty good job with sprinkling in little bits of backstory for many of the characters throughout so I let my guard down and was taken by complete surprise when Tanba went down! They disguised their red flags too well! Sawamura and Furuya are sort of in the same situation as Miyuki was last year, getting game experience as first years because a regular was injured, though at least Tanba has a better chance of making a full recovery and taking his spot back. So excited for the start of the summer tournament, and lol Furuya feeling overwhelmed at the stadium would have been me as well, classic introvert hallmark to feel like being around people sap your energy away😂. It's funny that we have extremes on both sides of the introvert/extrovert spectrum in Furuya and Sawamura, those two next to each other are always hilarious in their contrast. I like that they aren't antagonistic towards each other either, unlike rivals in a lot of other shows. Looking forward to next weeks reaction!

Yesss! I can see how he might come across polarizing -- It took me a bit to like Hoshiumi in Haikyuu (whom his character reminds me of) but I really like him now, so I instantly took a liking to Mei. And yesssss, he clearly has some past relations with Miyuki, so that is fascinating! Thank you for the clarification about Miyuki being a clutch hitter -- ha! That definitely suits his troll of a personality! :) And yessss, the pacing on these episodes was crazy -- we covere so much ground and they went by so fast! The pace is picking up, but that's okay! And good note about Sawamura and Furuya being in the same boat as Miyuki last year! @.@ I didn't quite put two and two together on that! I like the extremes of Furuya and Sawamura -- and yet they maintain some compatibility as players and friends in the show, which is nice! Yeah, unlike rivals in other shows, they're not really mean towards one another, just a jab here and there. ^^ Thanks for the kind words! I'm ready for next week, definitely!

As if Seido's pitcher issues weren't bad enough, now they're down their ace! Poor Tanba; we only see small slices of his personality up to now, but he really has the demeanor of an ace. Even if he hadn't been injured, he would have been the obvious choice. Furuya and Sawamura just aren't ready yet. Still, they've been given battlefield promotions where they'll have chances to prove themselves they might not otherwise have had. But it's also a place where I think the pressure will start to rise. These first years now have the hopes of all of Seido on their backs, especially the other first-years as Kanemaru said. Add to Sawamura's shoulders the friends he left behind. I love the scene of the opening ceremony. There are so, so many schools. I looked it up; supposedly, the IRL premlimiaries include around 4,000 high schools throughout Japan! O.O And yes, the series is long (and not over, since the manga is still running; I expect another anime season within another year or two) but I love long series so long as it stays high quality. Big question of the episodes, though: with all the scholarships the school hands out, they must have a difficult general admissions test, right? How did Furuya get in when even Sawamura is a better study? Questions, questions....

Yes! Just from what we've seen of Tanba, I really like his character already! And I LOVE that they kept him the ace, letting Sawamura and Furuya prove themselves as first-years for maybe that title later on in their high school careers. :) Yeah, with everything riding on them, that's SO MUCH pressure on two individuals who under normal circumstances wouldn't have it! Wow!! I can do a long series as long as it stays high quality as well -- are they planning another season to keep going with the manga?! That's interesting!! And crazy with all the high schools in Japan competing...I'm REALLY curious that once you get to nationals, now insane the competition must be! @_@ And that's a good point! Maybe since the baseball team is so prestigious, they get the funding to hand out the scholarships? I could see that, because our poor boys are not the most "book smart." That's an interesting question about Furuya, though...hmmm....things to think about, perhaps! @.@
