How did we get here? The Free! journey isn't finished yet (we still have a movie next week and two more later this year and in 2022), but the culmination of Free! Dive to the Future is here, and this episode was WONDERFUL.

It doesn't feel like the end of a series, and I'm happy about that.
Because I'm not ready for it to end.

Free has one of the best character developments and I love that, even with this big of an cast, all their characters get at least a bit of growth. We really need more of Ryuji's past, it looks like it would be so interesting. Of course NatsuNao came just from a date to the competition. Rin is now official an RyujiXMikhail shipper. XD I love how you can see in the races the characters don't often have this wide gap between the others swimmers anymore. It's so nice to see that they're struggling in races and that they may not make it. It feel so much more realistic and makes it more exciting to watch since we won't know who's gonna win. The colour palette was chosen so well for Ikuya and Natsuya. Nao's expression when Natsuya and Ikuya hugged. I want to hang that on my wall, it was too soft. Asahi and Hiyori are slowly opening up to eachother. It's wonderful. I told you at the beginning of the season that there is a good Hiyori analysis but sadly I can't find it anymore. If I should find it in the future I'm gonna make sure to send it to you. I wait till next week to talk about Kinjou but yeah, a lot of people theorized about him being deaf after this episode released. The scene when Sousuke throws the can to Rin reminds me so much of the 2nd season when Rin does it to Sousuke and finds out that he has the injury. I'm sure Kisumi also just wanted to get called with chan. XD Of course the others are leaving right before Rin comes to Haru and Makoto, of course they wouldn't just gives us these interactions yet. XD I waited since season 1 for the beach scene. The conversation. Haru screaming that he takes on the world. Everything was so wonderful. Wish you a wonderful day!!

2021-10-19 03:30:36 Seriously, Free! indeed has one of the best developed casts over a series that I've watched so far; I absolutely love it! I am really hoping we get in the new films some insight into his past, especially with his friend! And YES! Hahahaha, Rin ships Ryuuji and Mikhail FOR SURE! :) And that's another thing I appreciate, too, that the swimming and competition is getting more realistic now that our swimmers are in the "bigger pond" than their hometown! And ahhhh, Nao's expressions are just precious as a whole -- love the color choices KyoAni has made throughout this show, too! And YES! Hiyori slowly making friends, especially with Asahi warms my heart. Yeah, if you find that link, feel free to share it! And HA! Oh gosh, yeah, I am going to have to put a disclaimer for YouTube -- I just finished Road to the World, and Kinjou is probably not deaf. Just a JERK. >.< More about that next week! The beach scene with the trio was just perfection. I have delayed watching your reaction too! 😂😂😭 Can’t believe it’s over. It has been such an amazing ride. Haru’s character development has been so beautiful. One of the best I have seen in any piece of media. Everything has felt so natural and satisfying. Like, when I watched s1 I would have never believed that Haru would scream about winning competitions. But they have developed him so nicely that it felt so right when it happened. Plus, it was such a wholesome scene. Haru and his two bf helping him understand what he’s feeling ❤️❤️ The fact that Haru is subconsciously holding back because he’s afraid of what winning might cost him was everything. He has learned how important bonds are…maybe even more important than swimming. He has become such a wholesome boy and I love him. That ending killed me! It has been YEARS! And even though I am pretty confident that Haru won and maybe even broke the record for Free 100m, I NEED TO KNOW! 😭😭 If I don’t see a Haru, Rin, Ikuya and idk who else in a relay together before this series is over, I WILL RIOT! 😂😂

I delayed watching this episode for so long, so I hear you!! Oh, girl, THE MOVIE NEXT WEEK! Road to the World is going to answer some of your questions!! Because I needed to know, too! And I was so elated with the movie -- I can't wait to watch an talk about it with you all next week! Haru's development has been SO GOOD -- very natural, genuine, and what I love about this show is how it's grown and developed since season 1, without losing what makes Free! --- well, Free! Hahaha, Haru and his two boyfriends, together in the ocean....all as planned. ^^ And him learning the importance of his friendships and bonds....ahhh, it's so wholesome! I do need to see Rin and Ikuya swimming against each other, but seeing them in a relay with....Asahi? We could do that! That would be fun! :P There's SO MUCH that I want to see in the last two films, but I'll save that discussion for after next week's movie reaction and for the livestream. :)
