Cheng shows up, but what makes things more complicated are these new characters entering the fray! WuXian and Wangji continue their investigations, leading to converging paths with Cheng and Ling -- but we're not getting backstory of a few years ago, or even a decade, but all the way back to WuXian's childhood?! 

I'm sure this in NO WAY has to do with this mysterious Xiao we've just been introduced to, that was a disciple of Baoshan Sanren...right? RIGHT?!

The mystery lady with WWX and Jiang Cheng in the ED, would Jiang Cheng be anywhere near a Wen? Never trust a man with a fan. We enjoy watching your stress and theory crafting.

See, that's the thing -- I wouldn't think Cheng would be near a Wen...but....**grabs hair in frustration** Hahahaha!! I'm just going to hold off on any more thoughts with her for now. :P And Uhm YES! Fans are RED FLAG #1 when thinking about trusting someone! I'm glad y'all are enjoying the struggle -- I feel by the time I finish Episode 8, these theories are going to be a bit dated. :P Ah well, that's half the fun!

Also known as The episode where WangXian start to finish each other's phrases XD And LWJ saying those thing about any spell or sword not being bad by themselves. Imagine how long has he waited to give Wuxian a speech of support and understanding... And a chance to save WWX from a dog. Even if Fairy is the best puppy ever, he's still a dog! More badass Wuxian demonstrating how dark arts can be used for good. And neither he nor LWJ would ever mention it asking for recognition. Luckily the Lan juniors don't have to be modest and will gladly tell! Don't feel bad about not recognizing the mysterious villain! His story is designed that way lol. BUT he has appeared long ago already. I've seen people recognizing him by the shape of the eybrows. Not that recognition will give you any significant hints as to WHY or WHAT THE Fs. Xiao Xingchen's story leads straight to 3rd season. And I'm telling you, stock up on tissues when that time comes. Or probably Xanax. Also, ghost arm making a dash for freedom was hilarious. As was the Evil-Suppressing Portrait scene. I'd recommend watching it in chibi form in MDZS Q. Sorry I choked a bit hearing the theory of Wen Qing marrying Wuxian! There is a rumour where for the live-action there were plans to add their romance line but fans went so enraged they changed the plans. It would have been... interesting in AU storylines. where Wens don't lose favour or Yiling Patriarch doesn't. Yet while they are both considered villains to cultivation world, I don't think that marriage could have any political or status benefits. It's no surprise Jin Ling hates the sound of Yiling Patriarch's name. He probably grew up surrounded by the talks that villain who is already dead was responsible for all the evil in the world and his own family unhappiness as well. Loved your Nie theorizing as well. It was so goood, analyzing down to the point. Yes Nie Huaisang is kinda considered as Xichen's and Yao's younger brother since the vows the Triad took, their kind of sworn brotherhood includes being family to your sworn brother family. There is two types which have different names, and theirs was the strongest, closest one. It would be really awful to let down your orphaned "younger brother".

Thank you for the comment! My theories tend to be all over the place as I think out loud after the reaction -- yeah, maybe that's my angst AU where Qing is involved, haha! I mean, we all know the OTP here is WangXian, right? And Wangji doing his best to show how he's supported WuXian all these years? Ahhh...this episode has me theorizing all over the place but also wanting WuXian to connect the dots and realize how much Wangji loves him!! Not too much to ask, right?! And ahhh, the "Triad" of brothers is so mysterious -- I can completely understand how the younger Nie became clan leader, but it gives me so many questions/theories on Yao and XiChen's involvement. I know that everyone is suspicious at this point, but I want to leave XiChen out of that...he's too pure! Also...hmmmmmmmmm....I will keep my mouth shut for now on Xiao until we get more on him...but...yeah...hmmmmmmm....
