NEW REACTION LINK: https://www.breach.tv/video/13635/slam-dunk-volume-15-reaction

THIS NAILBITER OF A CONCLUSION! This volume was so emotionally taxing and you could FEEL the exhaustion of our Shohoku boys by the end of this! @__@

If Akagi won't cry, I won't either!
Also, I'm reacting to ED #3 this volume!

I love these Shohoku boys! Y'all put up a helluva fight so far! Now for the next game!

Thanks for watching my reaction and the support!

Now then. So we wrapped up the game with Kainan. Incidentally, this volume was like a treasure chest of weird translation, so I got my pc to go beast mode with translations)) First, lets talk about Kogure vs Maki. It went like this: It wasn't as if Maki pushed him, but Kogure barely managed to not fall on his knees as his legs buckled. Kogure is unable to react. Maki made a fake shooting motion. Why? Even though Kogure is not able to react? But Maki's opponent wasn't Kogure. It was Akagi. So here we see Kogure totally outclassed. He literally struggles just to keep standing in front of charging Maki. Emperor ain't playing no games)) Then we had Sendo answering the question from coach, why did that calm Maki foul Sakuragi? Sendo said "that guy just somehow makes you want to go all out," so there's that. Maki obviously knew Akagi was injured. Everyone knew. His answer to Jin was "Injured? Lol, look at him. Akagi is in his best form, and that's how everyone must treat it. Forget his injury." Then Takasago commented "I will not consider Sakuragi to be a novice. I will think of him as a player of Akagi's caliber, and play accordingly." Kainan just doesn't lower their guard. They don't underestimate opponents. So we move to free throw. Sakuragi remembered how important this game was to Akagi and decided to miss on purpose. He trusted Akagi to get the rebound. Which was exactly what happened. And of course ball went to Mitsui. His accuracy wasn't off. He missed one shot by shooting too fast, and that was it. Second time he simply threw the ball at the basket so Akagi and Sakuragi could get the rebound and score. So nah, his three pointers didn't decrease in accuracy. Kiyota was lowkey MVP. He managed to scratch the ball. Mitsui said to Kiyota "So you touched it, huh?" and Kiyota replied "Just the tip of my nail". Sakuragi makes wrong pass, game over, etc. SO now enters Fukuda. He said "Sakuragi. That was the guy Sendo got interested in." Fuku-chan is awesome, btw. Though he looks rough. Sakuragi is depressed and gets scolded by Rukawa. "What you showed yesterday far exceeded your true abilities already. No one expected you to perform that well. Not a tiny bit. Your mistakes are accounted for. They do not affect our wins or losses" Sakuragi swings and stops himself. Yeah, character growth. But, alas, Rukawa saw punch coming and reflectively punched back))) As always. Rukawa gets into fights in a split second. It was him who triggered the brawl with Mitsui gang by throwing the ball, you know. Such short temper. So they start beating each other up. As usual. Two idiots. Oh, and Ayako wrote "On the cliff edge". Meaning nowhere to retreat to, only forward, only victory. And Akagi's ankle is pretty much fine. He really is just using the crutches to make it heal faster. He's not out at all. I think that's about it, for major things. Or what I consider to be major. Even though translation as a whole was quite wacky.

2021-10-19 03:52:36 Thank you so much for the detailed comment!! I’m always happy when you all add extra insight in spite of some not-always-to-par translations! ^^ I really appreciate it! Go Beast Mode! Kogure was SO outdone by The Emperor himself. I felt bad for poor Kogure; he tried! He’s our team’s emotional anchor for sure, but they needed Akagi up against Maki. And YES! What I like about Maki is that he’s not rude or sinister -- he’s just STRONG. Like Sendoh, but Sendoh doesn’t have the maturity and experience that Maki has. That guy has had such a presence in this series...I hope we see more of him before the end! Oooh, that makes sense with how Maki is questioning if Akagi is still up to form -- that makes more sense; I thought he saw Akagi go back to the locker room, so I was a little confused, haha! And yes, Kainen did not back down, and I like that our red-headed delinquent is thought of by the team as on the same level ability-wise as Akagi...he’s grown so much! **tears shed** One of the things I’ve LOVED about this match is Sakuragi constantly going back to Akagi telling him how important this match is -- that motivation is so wonderful to see from Sakuragi and adds to the stakes. I’ve been worried about Mitsui’s accuracy in this game, but also, like you said, some of it is that he’s wanted Sakuragi or Akagi to rebound, and yes -- OUCH -- Kiyota’s nail was just...gross. >.< I am REALLY intrigued by Fukuda and excited to get into his role in all of this! I won’t back down from new characters being introduced. And ahhh, Rukawa and Sakuragi in the gym. CHARACTER GROWTH indeed! Rukawa does have a short temper, but I’m happy to see these two goofballs at least more friendly towards one another...how things have changed from Chapter One! And ahhh, yes, only we can move forward now! I’m glad Akagi doesn’t look to be out -- we need our Gori in this upcoming game! Thanks SO much for the extra info and comment! I really appreciate it!
