 *SEASON OPENING HEADPHONE WARNINGS*

I had no clue what to expect with this series, but just like The Untamed for Mo Dao Zu Shi, this series is such a fun compliment to the fantastic donghua!

Set as a "prequel" to season 1 of the donghua, we get to see how Cheng Xiaoshi met Lu Guang and the start of their dynamic -- I am LOVING the actors and this series already! This will be a fun series, I feel!

I am so excited you are watching the live action! Fully agree on the set design callout, the photo shop looks INCREDIBLE. And the acting choices are *chef's kiss*, Xiaoshi's little move to put money in his nonexistent shirt pocket was so adorable. I honestly wasn't sure how this was going to go, but......despite the cheesy CGI, it is SO GOOD so far. I'm going to slowroll to watch just ahead of you, as I can confirm the machine/AI-generated subtitles are conversely, very much not good.

Oh my gosh, right?! I wasn't sure how the casting would go since I love the donghua characters so much, but this casting is LITERALLY PERFECT. I don't know how they found a trio that embodies the donghua like they do, but they DID. And it's so adorable! Thank you for the comment - I'm so excited to see where this series takes us!

I'm SO excited to be watching the live action as well! All of the elements you mentioned - they're all SO good and faithful to the donghua - it's actually kind of incredible! I am glad that CGI shot was the ONLY hesitance I've had with the show - everything else, I've been on board with and having a blast with! And yes, thankfully, Raky on Patreon has helped me find a reddit where someone re-did the subs, so THANK GOODNESS! These work out just fine! Thank you for the comment and kind words!
