*TRIGGERED HEADPHONE WARNINGS*

Oh, y'all, I started this volume out with allllll the theories, but Miura IMMEDIATELY threw a wrench at me and those plans!

On the one hand, we got some AMAZING backstory with Farnese and Serpico (FINALLY - but also - THE TEA), but on the other...this whole business with Griffith "somehow" being reborn (despite already still being alive?) and I will apologize -- some of the events of this volume triggered some hard memories with me and I was not prepared for it.

Miura, you are really testing my trust with you, just as I was starting to have it back with me. Thank you for watching with me and for all the support!

Moominkomet

We just call this the Millennium Falcon arc. To be fair, foxes are canids. Griffith: I don’t think Miura is trying to make the reader like Griffith. We , like Guts, know what he did. If Griffith brought out that strong feeling in you then I think you are in the right to not like him. I also want to say that you having such a visceral reaction to the Hill of Swords was brave of you. It’s a personal thing to go through and you bared your soul to us. You do not have to apologize! You didn’t do anything wrong with your reaction at all! I hope you feel better now. I hope you can heal in time. *Hugs you from afar * Now do the people see him differently than we as readers see him? Yes! He has primed ( brainwashed?) them with visions of a white hawk for a while. The wish of the Egg of the Perfect World is to bring a “savior“ to change the world. Is it a twisted wish? Yes! Are the people sheep? Yes. The baby, a leaping fish? I would not say the baby is Griffith’s heart. That’s not how I interpret it anyway. I’d say he feels its presence. The baby is also a splinter in a perfect monster. say monster because this Griffith is not human. Casca is bleeding in its presence. She never did that with the baby. This is a Godhand made flesh, for it is a god / demon compared with a human. So what does that mean having the baby as an extra ingredient, a reluctant roommate in this vessel? It means that it will not let Femto harm its parents. It is a flaw! That is what Griffith meant by wanting to freeze its blood. He recognizes the weakness he has now. Remember, he never was good with having feelings to begin with. Yes, I said Femto. Just think of that pretty monster as Femto. When Griffith “liberates” the Midland prisoners, we meet a girl who is mesmerized by Griffith. I want to point out the carnage scene described as a painting is like Farnese comparing the carnage she witnessed with Guts as a painting in a basilica. We also meet a bunch of new characters. Miura also showed an army savaging the woman with the backstory of Rosine so, it’s pretty much any army at this point. Repeated behaviors. Schierke: the only one that is reading the situation correctly! Yes, she knows….what this thing is. Who is this little witch? Who is that elf? Serpico and Farnese: now you know! Yes, she too is a devil child. Guts is a devil child. The demon baby…. There is a pattern. Being a former latchkey kid, I can totally relate to Farnese. I unfortunately also exhibited some of the same behaviors when I was a kid as Farnese. I understand her on a certain gut level. I’ll say it right now, I love these two end chapters and they are some of the best backstories in Berserk. I can also relate to Serpico in a way. My folks are getting older and the mind is going. I’ve already buried one parent (step) who had dementia and it was hell. I will probably talk more about that with the next volume 23 which you have probably already read and possibly thrown the book across the room. Serpico’s mother was killed one year before the eclipse. This was a tough video to comment on and I do hope that people are respectful. But this is the internet! I thank you from the bottom of my heart for your putting yourself in such a vulnerable position reading this to us. Please take care of yourself first. We will understand. The morning is coming and daybreak is around the corner. There is always hope! 👁️👁️👁️FEB Spoilers⬇️👁️👁️👁️ Did I just ramble or what! Volume 22: 3! (One appears in two panels)

A mere Almond

Let me clear this confusion up. Skull Knight previously mentioned that the Godhand do not exist in the physical realm. They can only temporarily manifest in the physical realm. Demonic magic, energy from the egg apostle and energy from the alignment of the planets and stars, created enough energy to use the flesh of Guts jr. to create a new physical body for Femto. So now, for the first time, we have a Godhand member physically existing in the physical realm. There were some very important lines this volume directly from Griffith. "Nothing has changed" "You should have known who I am" "I will not betray my dream". I would say its confirmation that this demon is still the Griffith we know. And also confirmation that he is evil. Another big line from Griffith was "My heart should be frozen. It must be the boy who fused with my vessel" He is referring to the boy as a separate entity. "I came to see if my heart would be shaken by you. It seems, I am free". - This line reveals the motivation behind the SA of Casca. Griffith was testing to see if he was free of his only weakness. His weakness was feelings of empathy, friendship, regret. Casca was meaningless to Griffith. He SA Casca to make Guts suffer. And he carefully watched Guts suffer and felt nothing. He was free of his emotions after becoming a demon. You are questioning if the story is doing enough to portray Griffith as evil. But at the same time claiming there is no reason to show the SA and that the SA is excessive. Isn't that some hypocrisy? At the very least, I think you can see there is some reasoning to it. You shouldn't be embarrassed by those emotions you displayed. Everyone can understand why that affected you so much. You explained it well. But that is the intention of Miura. Readers are supposed to feel angry that the king of evil is getting everything he wants.

Hello I read your comment and i ll point the parts to edit plz All the questions about Griffith objectives from being on the physical realm are a bit too attention directing imo so i wish you remove them plz Second : i respect how passionate you are about the story and also feel the respect you have for Miura, but i think it’s also permitted for a first time reader to be angry or not convinced about what they are consuming especially with very triggering moments for her So i will use your own word and say i find that you were very harsh in your comment on Romania. Since the beginning of Berserk she has been dealing with a lot of criticism because she is just not chanting Miura’s praises and I find it mentally exhausting for a reactor to deal with such words. It’s exhausting to me to go through them each week and they are not directed to me so i feel for her I ll let you edit the part i consider spoilery and if eventually you think some other things are to be changed it’s up to you Thank you for your comment and understanding Be Happy

The Millennium Falcon arc makes me instantly think of Star Wars and Lando, which on the one hand: Yes please! On the other: Don’t let this platinum punk taint the good name of a good ship! 😛 Foxes as canids - yes, fair enough! It definitely IS frustrating when Miura has Griffith, who is a bastard, come back and everyone in the story (sans Guts and the close crew to him) are eating out of the palm of his hand. I definitely feel like Guts in this volume with “why are y’all overlooking all he’s done?!” It’s such a gut stab! It is frustrating too, because Griffith seems to be the “liberators” of these women from men assaulting them, but it’s the biggest stroke of hypocrisy for Griffith to be doing it – it definitely gets under my skin to no end. Thank you for the hugs – this volume and next week have really gutted me; I watched them back to back, too, before my vacation, which was likely not the BEST decision. I DO feel incredibly better after having been away for a week and after receiving some kind words, so thank you very much! I can’t tell you how much I appreciate the hug from afar! Schierke intrigues me and is really one of the few things keeping me hanging on reading at this point, because I want to see what her deal is as a “witch?” Mage? With an elf? The baby I still feel so badly for, so I’m not sure about some parts of it…but I guess we’ll see with it! I talk a bit about that in the next volume, but my only fear is that Casca will be trying to connect to the “Baby” in Griffith, and Guts will misconstrue what she’s wanting and think she wants to be with Griffith instead of him or that she’s been brainwashed like the rest of them – if Miura would let her communicate like a regular person would be able to at this point…that’d be quite helpful, you know. Thank you for the information on Serpico’s mom! Yesss, Serpico and Farnese as siblings. I definitely get a lot of Farnese’s actions after reading this volume – and I really like Serpico and her relationship. AHAHAHAHA, I’m not going to lie - I was near quitting this series after this coming week with Volume 23. I sobbed through editing, I wasn’t privy to some of the info that this week and VOL 21’s comments have brought to light, so I was confused, irritated, outraged…I know that you say “hope is around the corner,” and after Volume 20, I was REALLY excited because y’all said the same thing then…and then Volumes 21-23 happened and it was like a betrayal by Miura and a slap to the face. I’m not sure I can take a lie from this point on, if moral doesn’t improve. I dread the comments for volume 22 and 23 on YouTube; at least you all here are considerate on Patreon. But what can we do? Thank you for the sympathies and kind words and the comment – it was very helpful!
