*COLOSSAL HEADPHONE WARNINGS*

This episode was action-packed and indeed full of "political strife!" There's so much to talk about in terms of how this series relates to our own world, but also about the slow IV-drip of mystery crumbs this season is giving! I can't wait for more, but first, let's talk about this episode!

Loved the reaction & discussion! Another really dense episode – love how many concepts we can talk about through this series. And I’m happy to hear you are enjoying the pace of this season! 🥰 Seeing Kunizuka and Shion together again?! This was so important to me and I have nothing coherent to add. I love them too much. + a tiny moment of Kunizuka checking in with Hinakawa! 🥰 Loved the development of Tenma and Kei’s relationship – Tenma being kind of grumpy, but also protective of and grateful to Kei. He’s a sweetheart and maybe a bit of a tsundere? 😂 I’ve really enjoyed the discussions around binaries and dualities this season! In previous seasons we’ve had examples of humans using holos/AI/other tech to enhance something about themselves, or their interactions and capabilities. And now we kind of have the other side of the coin - where the human being is a vessel, their body used to enhance the capabilities of an AI. And seeing the Pluto connections – parents/creators and their obsessions with their creations? Rewatching these episodes along with your Pluto discussions has been really excellent! Dr Tsuchiya creating a replacement for his child (and in his own image), using another human being/consciousness as a tool to give his creation more of a real-world presence, not being able to handle not having control of their creation? Tale as old as Pluto’s Tenma. Ugh, the hubris. Looking forward to next week! 💙

The season is being paced really well and I've been enjoying it a lot! And Shion and Kunizuka sharing the screen together has been LOVELY! I also love that they're still doting a little in checking in on Hinakawa, though he has come into his own in this season! And Temma being this grumpy tsundere! Yes, please! I love his relationship with Kei is like a grumpy, protective uncle to him! :3 Yessss, the discussion of how we use AI and cohabitate with it being a big discussion of this series and seeing the flip of it this season from season 1 -- it's very cool! And yesss, the HUBRIS -- it's been a wild ride watching Pluto alongside this season for SURE! There's even been times I've confused the "Colosseum" subplots between the two, they're so similar! I wouldn't be surprised to see Shindo in the Pluto universe or Brando and Hercules in the Psycho Pass one! I'm excited for next week as well! Thank you for the comment and kind words! :D

The transporters not knowing what's in their cargo honestly gives me bad flashbacks to, in the real world, some lorry drivers ending up involved in human trafficking and/or the death of people being transported around like cargo. In Psycho-Pass it ensures their Hues don't become cloudy, in the real world its so as police can lean on them to get them to spill information on the wider network. I need a bonk on the head for my immediate thought after you said "Suwabe is good at giving orders"...first thought was "He could give me orders any day!" 🤣 Also kinda apt that you're wearing the Tsurune servant t-shirt when you said that 😂 The AI stuff definitely hits a wee bit too close to home on how real the possibilities of advancements within AI could go/be used for. Especially with how prevalent AI has become in the last couple of years. I adore Kunizuka's civilian look. She looks amazing. But her fighting in those heeled boots? Yes please, give me more! 😍 The sound of Irie sliding down the ladder after the effortless parkour Shindo pulled off will never not make me laugh. But it says a lot for Oishi and Irie's relationship/past that Oishi stayed where he was and waited for Irie to come down to his level 🥺 Shindo is definitely like Tony Hawk, just with his parkour skills over skateboarding. Real life Spider-Man for definite! Irie having a good old-fashioned fist fight over using a Dominator to render his friend out of commission gives me so many feelings 🥺 Todoroki, thanks to seeing how Kei and Shindo are (and Kei's words about the Sibyl System, and defending Todoroki), was able to stand up to his family's ridicule of him. So dang proud of him for the courage he's gained these last two episodes. I love the cinematography of the scene of Enomiya trying to escape. Also want to point out that when Azusawa says Enomiya's name he uses the -kun suffix which is a more atypical masculine semi-formal suffix to use. And it's also usually used for someone younger or the same age as the speaker. But I feel like using a suffix more commonly used for men is 1) Psycho-Pass showing how easy it is to have a trans or non-binary character, and 2) adds something to Azusawa's character that he uses a suffix that Enomiya may prefer (considering Irie referred to them as an ex-woman, and his past with them, I assume Enomiya would prefer people use a suffix that isn't typical of a woman). Your question on why Enomiya chose the lift instead of the stairs basically gets answered when they show us that suitcase of gold. They couldn't have lugged that down the stairs and escaped. So, in a way, the choice for them in this moment wasn't simply the stairs or the lift, but rather run without your wealth and live, or try to run with it and die. And their first choice when Azusawa approached them I think was: fight Azusawa, or keep their head down and follow orders. Really love getting to see Kunizuka and Shion together, even though Kunizuka is no longer an Enforcer 🥺🥰 Shion really is so proud of her woman, and is right there in her corner cheering Kunizuka on. Drunk Irie sneaking up on Mika always brings a smile to my face. Out of all of them Irie is definitely not the one you'd think of that would approach Mika of all people like that. Mika, without Akane's physical presence, has definitely become a much more appealing character 😂 But at least we get another bit of the puzzle answered: Oishi mentioned Irie giving information on the abandoned areas to Tsunemori (who from the movie we know had started utilising informants in various areas). It's really cool seeing call backs to things that happened in Season 1. Also very realistic that such events like the riots that occurred thanks to Makishima and Cho's helmets led to certain research being looked into. Though it feels strange for them to be a named event, "the Helmet Riots", just as it does in real life when we experience events that become a marker for historical change. Not the two people, one cup being brought into the world of Psycho-Pass 🥺 But yes the analogy fits so well with this! Oooh definitely similar Armin and Annie vibes with that conversation between Shindo and Karina...which really says a lot for how great a voice actor Kaji Yuuki is that he can make us think of Armin instead of Eren 😆 Kisaragi's lack of presence within this entire case definitely makes her feel like a superfluous character. I'd say it's my only negative for how they did Psycho-Pass Season 3, and their choice of following all these new characters. Even if she'd just made a couple of appearances doing paperwork or something whilst the rest of Division 1 were out investigating and getting in on all the action, I feel it would have been better for her character at this point in the story. Now in regards to Shindo's parkour skills being a little OP I do have to defend our precious Spider-Man. He's pulling off these feats whilst in a good physical condition. Meanwhile Kougami's over here having been shot and sliced up, and *still* manages to stab a certain potential love interest in the throat all in the name of vengeance 🤣 As for Shindo's arm strength, when he and Kei were working out together he was doing pull-ups so there is evidence that he trains a decent amount to have the kind of arm strength needed to pull off some of the feats he has managed. Your elevator story, I truly feel for you! Always the way that that kind of thing happens at a time when you *really* don't need anything going wrong. I have, thankfully (*touch wood*), never gotten stuck in a lift due to technical difficulties/had one break down with me inside before. I did almost get physically stuck in a lift at the Van Gogh museum in Amsterdam because that lift was teeny! Door made a screeching noise as it rubbed against the handles of my wheelchair [AFTER I took off the footrests because the wheelchair couldn't even fit in with them on].
