I couldn't help the spoilery thumbnail this week because FINALLY! We get some...answers? Maybe?! Not really, but it IS nice to see Kogami and Ginoza in action together, even if it's fleeting and there's still a LOT of mystery left in their wake.

Shindo and Kei are on the trail to find the "truth"...but can they handle it? Especially as an upcoming election looms on the horizon that may have a handle in how the Sybil System maintains order...

Loved the reaction & discussion! This episode! 🥰 I will now go on and on about one scene 😂: the terminal, when we see Gino and Kogami again. This is one of my favourites, and I attribute a lot to the soundtrack and the way it ramps up as we wait for ‘something’ to happen, as well as its overall construction. I’ve said this before, but I love scenes like this where we have so much more information and emotional baggage than the characters on screen. The way we have the contrast of the music with our current squad (Arata and Kei not running up the escalator, Irie and Tenma sauntering away from the wagon). The structure and pairings of the scene: us seeing Gino and Kogami in the distance, then Kei going in headfirst. The way Kogami and Arata just kind of shrug at one another. The way Irie pushes Arata out of the way. Another one of those where even though I have seen this scene So Many times - it never fails to get me. We get it all: characterisation through the construction of the scene, camerawork, history, fanservice, etc, etc. And then we get to see Frederica and our baby lamb!Sugo, too?! Who are both looking stunning. Honestly, the MFA makes me want to believe in the infinite number of universes theory. I really liked the way they conveyed so much of Yonehara and Sasagawa’s relationship through body language and the environment. I felt for Yonehara, he’s clearly very sensitive and easily rattled. And yeah, I agree, the way Sasagawa discarded him was hard to watch. The concept of a ‘mental celebrity’ is so vile to me, but then again we’ve already got influencers who deceptively peddle ‘wellbeing’ and ‘stress management.’ I’m also in complete agreement with regards to Hinakawa – seeing him grow and become more capable of asserting himself has been really wonderful! 🥰 The orange marker for Kagari was noted and appreciated. 🥰 This one was a total delight. Cannot wait for next week! 🧡

Finally catching up with Psycho-Pass! 🥳 Kei pulling Shindo out of his Mentalist ability with that soft spoken phrase "the rain is over" always makes me think of the Avengers movie, Age of Ultron, and how they help Bruce Banner 'control' his transformation back from being the Hulk with the phrase "sun is getting low". But I definitely blame Donnie Darko for making me so creeped out by the terrifying bunny creature. Hinakawa's growth is definitely one of my favourite character-driven parts of this series. But yeah it hurts that we didn't get this with Kagari 😭💔 Also absolutely adore him getting to show off his holo-creating skills with that little chibi-esque visual aid for Shindo to teach them about economics 🤣 I do love Irie's character, and not just because he's voiced by Suwabe 🤣 I agree that he's like an Asshole!Kougami (they both have that rough, tough edge to them 😍), though he does remind me a little of the bits we got to see of Sasayama back in Season 1. But I love the inclusion that he's from the slums as there hasn't been a whole lot of mention yet in regards to what the financial divide in the world of Psycho-Pass is like. Having a latent criminal from a lower class area definitely adds a grittier feel to the show and further expands our knowledge of future Japan. Also Irie suggesting, and going, to the main gangster boss in that area for information definitely feels very much like old school policing. I absolutely adored the juxtaposition of Kei, Irie and Todoroki beating the crap out of the gangsters with their batons, whilst Shindo was going all parkour and showing off his own physicality side. Great way of showing how both Kei and Shindo have both brains and brawn. They gave us reminiscence of 90s BL last episode only to brutally show us that we were only seeing it through Yonehara's eyes, his rose-tinted glasses outlook on their relationship 🥺😭 I feel like Sasagawa's betrayal though makes you even more on our guys' side when they manage to capture him. Knew you'd be happy this episode with our three boys coming back 🥰 Gotta admit when you first got all suspicious about Frederica when she was first introduced I was laughing in my head thinking about how you'd react when you get to see that she's got all our boys 😂 The reveal for all three of them was so good though. I can remember squealing so happily when I first watched this. But Ginoza raising his hand in greeting to Hinakawa made me all soft and calmed me down after the action of Kei vs. Ginoza and Kougami vs. Irie and Todoroki 🥺😆 Definitely ship Mika with Frederica! But I completely get you in how this show makes it hard sometimes because you want to ship characters with others but you love them as this other ship. Season 1 was way simpler with figuring out your shoe 😅 Honestly the change in dynamic between Mika and Ginoza, for me, is more like either close siblings or really good friends, especially with how Ginoza has fun teasing her about the things Mika says. Also the subs changed what Mika asked Ginoza at the end of their conversation. In the subs it asked if he's seen "Akane" when in Japanese Mika still refers to Akane as "senpai" 🥺 Mika not changing her form of address for Akane honestly made me all the more intrigued about the whole situation with her. Shindo solving the puzzle to let Adele see and hear Rick's message for her is truly so sweet of them, but what I love the most is that once it was done he and Kei immediately left to give Adele her privacy in such an emotional moment 🥺 Shindo takes the female ex-idol to question and leaves the male ex-wrestler to Kei. Just piling on more how Shindo likes the women 😆 We get a little more world building with the messed up information of genetic targeting with reproduction for sports like wrestling, but also Todoroki is so blasé when dropping that the Olympics is no longer a thing (understandable considering what we've learned about the rest of the world's condition outside of Japan with the Sinners of the System movies). Nuggets of information are getting parsed out as we go 😂 Great way to keep you hooked though. In regards to audits, I think they must work differently here as companies are regularly audited to ensure quality of production, health and safety, and I believe also environmental impact. I only know about it vaguely as I thankfully never had to deal with such a thing when I worked, however my Mum was the main go-to at her workplace for organising everything for audits, and my brother also has to do the same at his work. It definitely sounds stress-inducing, which within the world of Psycho-Pass would also be concerning for the effect it could have on your Hue. I agree that I think Kei and Ginoza would get along. Can see them empathising with each other over their brother-like figures that can be a bit of a handful to look after 😂 Shindo's place gives the vibe of a house/a place to crash, rather than a home not just because of the trash left lying around or things not unpacked, but also because of the lighting within the scene. Then to cut to Kei, his place feels warmer and more homey, but doesn't have knick-knacks like pictures on the wall to give it a really lived-in feeling. Also, you are right that Kei said something different from what the subs put it as.

You break this all down so well – what can I say? It has EVERYTHING! 😀 I agree! I want to join the MFA if this crew is there! 😛 Psycho-Pass gives us SO MUCH in an episode, especially the extended ones like this! Thank you for the soundtrack information as well! 😀 Sasagawa leaving Yonehara was hard - my BL ship! Nooooo! And yes, it’s crazy once again to see how Psycho-Pass taps into concepts that we’re sadly seeing in practice today, even if not to the total sci-fi extent of this episode. And Hinakawa growing and taking the reigns himself? I feel so proud for him! And hahaha, YES, any chance to give our boy Kagari a shout out, I will SO do! 😀 I’ve got to catch up with these comments but thank you so much! I’m so excited with this season!

Huzzah!! There is SO much in each of these episodes, aren’t there?! Oohhh, I like the idea of Shindo being like Bruce Banner - he’s a Hulk at heart! And Shindo having his parkour skills - brain and brawn indeed! I LOVE how much Hinakawa has grown! It’s so sweet and maybe he’s carrying on Kagari in spirit! But I love how his holo-creating skills were helpful! 😛 Irie’s character has SO grown on me – I like that he has that rough edge and YES he SOOO reminds me of Sasayama as well; it’s kind of cool to see his type of character fleshed out in this world! UGH, I hate that the BL relationship with Yonehara and Sasagawa was cut short! 🙁 It’s so sad, but I agree, it makes capturing Sasagawa all the more satisfying later on! OUR BOYS. I am still JEALOUS of Frederica – how dare she horde all these handsome men away? Are there applications open for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs? This was all squeal-worthy and I was fangirling SO HARD! And awwww, that’s so true with Ginoza and Hinakawa – I love how the OG crew are all soft around him and the new crew respect but are teasing with him! OH Mika and Frederica are a SHIP! Frederica being around all those handsome men with no visible moves? GIRL. At least Shion playfully flirted with Kogami a hot second, hahaha!! Plus Mika and Frederica being rival bosses? Yes, please. I can so see Mika and Ginoza like siblings with their energy, and how Mika ribs at him. And yessss, Mika’s “relationship” with the Akane situation has me SO intrigued. Shindo is a sweetie and I love that he has a very Ranpo/Sherlock vibes of being mysterious, but he’s more sweet than a gremlin like they are. And Shindo is SOO heterosexual-coded hahahaha – no BL storylines - to me - with him. Though, if people ship him and Kei, I can totally see why. And with the house, it definitely feels as if Shindo is over with them more at their place. I agree, the sci-fi elements that mirror our own world (though hopefully what’s NOT in the future) and the chunks of info scattered about – it’s a lovely mystery and leaves me super excited each week to see what gets put together and figured out as we go! Yessss, Audits are SO stressful! At least here in the U.S. and they sound similar to what you all do – I cannot imagine them in the Psycho-Pass world being anything “calming.” Thank you for the comment!
