Really enjoy your theories for this episode! The idea of cursed creatures that human cannot see, preying on negative emotions, and trying to lure them to their deaths is quite common in anime I think. They are just presented and executed in different ways. You probably notice the haunting soundtrack of the show. This show has one of my favorite anime soundtracks ever. It is composed by Yuki Kajiura. She worked on Demon Slayer, The Case Study of Vanitas, Sword Art Online (the only redeeming quality of that show probably lol), and many more famous anime. Some fun facts: - The witch labyrinths are drawn by a different team: Gekidan INU Curry, an animation duo who has worked with Studio Shaft on multiple projects. They describe their works as inspired by both Russian and Czech animation styles - Madoka's sketches were drawn by her voice actress - Aoi Yuuki - Katou Emiri, who played Kyubey, was shocked that Kyubey didn't have any lip movements, because during the initial dubbing for episode 1 she had tried hard to lip sync but afterward there was a decision made to not have Kyubey move his mouth at all.

Ohhhh wow Aoi Yuuki drew Madoka's sketches ?? What *can't* that woman do ? She can act, she can sing, she can do both at the same time, she has an insane range as a VA and she's also good at drawing ??
