Hi cutie and happy Sunday!

I found myself referring penpals to The Take's YouTube channel several times this week, so figured I would share the full playlist on gendered tropes for everyone to peruse!

It's so easy to internalize expectations that we've seen depicted in film, tv, literature and music. When we're asking for our needs to be met, are we actually being the "crazy woman"? When we're scared of asking for what we need, are we being the "nice guy" who finishes last? Why can't we just be the "cool girl" or the "ladies' man" who is effortlessly charming and detached, never stressed about the actions of our partners?

Of course, these tropes are binary by nature, but any gender can fall into them. I've found it incredibly validating to unpack these mythical caricatures, and see how their presence in media can take a toll on our real-world attempts to relate to each other.

I hope this serves!
With love
