Once I was asked: why don't you just take the original model of some building, apartment, etc. Why are you building everything from scratch with brushes. Here's your answer, Source Engine 1 is not able to correctly illuminate models, and even more so such large ones. You can't even make different properties for different walls, or use more than 32 textures per model. Because of this, I recreate the level geometry from scratch, and it takes a lot more time, but the result is worth it.
