Chapter 10 – Plans, Future Punishment, and Rewards

In the large ‘imperial palace’ within the Fox Lord’s Territory, Seimei read over the letter that he’d received from Momonga. His eyes narrowed as it was confirmed, by a former member of the Black Scripture, that the Slane Theocracy did indeed possess a World Item, and possibly more than one.

“That’s not good.” Seimei said to himself with a frustrated sigh. “But this Downfall of Castle and Country… If they’ve had it since the Players that became the ‘Six Great Gods’ formed the Theocracy… Why didn’t they use it against me?” The Slane Theocracy made it abundantly clear that they considered the Fox Lord their enemy. The only reason they’d never attempted to attack his territory was because of the fear he’d put in them back when he’d first taken it. “There’s no way they know that I have a World Item of my own.” Seimei mumbled under his breath while his hand gently touched his lower chest.

Just as he’d done back in YGGDRASIL, Seimei had never told anyone about how he’d stumbled upon the secret Kitsune Race by playing Werefox and maxing out specific classes, though he had mentioned to Momonga that he’d discovered a way to further his roleplay. But a secret that he’d never told anyone, ever, was that by unlocking the Kitsune Race he’d also made it possible to find a very specific World Item in the vast realms of YGGDRASIL.

The World Item [Hoshi no Tama] or Star Ball, related to Kitsune mythology…a definite outlier when compared to YGGDRASIL’s Norse Mythology inspirations. But it could only be found by a Player with the Kitsune Race, and only equipped by said Race as well. These incredible limitations on the World Item seemed to be balanced out by its power as any Player character that equipped it gained a fifty percent increase to all stats and recovery over time of both HP and MP, exactly one percent of total HP and MP would be restored every five seconds until full. It was a great item for normal play of the game, as Seimei could use up all of his MP, and instead of waiting for the time limit set in YGGDRASIL for MP to refill, he’d be back to full in roughly eight minutes and twenty-two seconds. It’s only positive effect in battle with other Players was the fifty percent buff to all of his stats, but Seimei only used it against PKers, and never got involved in the PVP tournaments back in YGGDRASIL.

“We’ll have to implement some countermeasures against World Items.” Seimei began to write his reply to Momonga with a few ideas. “I doubt that Momonga is going to wait to punish the Theocracy for this attack, accidental or not.”

-Nazarick-

“Have scouts sent out that won’t draw any attention to themselves. I have a target in mind for their punishment, but I need to understand what protective measures are in place.” Momonga said to Albedo as he looked over the map that showed the three nearest nations once more. “Clementine has been most helpful with her knowledge of the Slane Theocracy’s capital.” He pushed a second map, newly drawn and a bit rough, of the capital of the Theocracy towards Albedo for the Succubus to inspect.

Albedo picked up the smaller map and her yellow eyes immediately went to a spot that had been circled. “The Black Scripture’s headquarters…” A wicked smile crossed her beautiful face. “It’s perfect, Lord Momonga.” An appropriate punishment for the Theocracy’s Black Scripture for their attack on Shalltear was to be attacked themselves in return. “They will learn the folly of their disrespect towards Nazarick.”

Momonga nodded with a serious look on his face, his ever-changing eye color a mix of darker shades to reflect his emotions. “I am not a Monster that would massacre those that have not challenged me or harmed Nazarick. But for those who do… There will be no mercy.”

“You are truly benevolent, my Lord.” Albedo smiled at him warmly. She would’ve personally razed the entirety of the Slane Theocracy to the ground and any survivors that didn’t pledge undying loyalty to Nazarick would be killed as well. But her beloved was far more merciful than she was.

“That takes care of the reports from Lupusregina on Carne Village and its development since Lizzie, Nfirea, and Celicia have moved there. Sebas and Solution have reported in and nothing has gone amiss yet, no one has approached them or targeted them that they’ve noticed or that the stealth unit watching over them has noticed.” Momonga let out a small sigh of relief that no major incidents were happening right after they’d managed to get Shalltear back. But that brought up another issue. “Is Shalltear still holding herself responsible?”

Albedo closed her eyes and nodded once. “She is, my Lord. Your forgiveness of her deeds while being mind-controlled have eased her mind, but she still bears the burden of guilt for what happened in her heart. I believe she will not fully move on until she receives some form of punishment.”

Momonga grimaced at that. He’d had Demiurge explain the situation to Shalltear, and he didn’t blame her for falling victim to an unknown World Item, but she still blamed herself. “I will take some time to consider an appropriate punishment if that is what she requires to forgive herself.” Momonga said after a long moment to think the situation over. He knew well how powerful of an emotion that guilt could be from his own experience with it. “What of the Lizardman Village that Aura found while scouting the forest?”

“As you ordered, we are watching them to determine their capabilities while also building a dummy Nazarick in the forest to deter potential attackers.” Albedo reported succinctly. “If all goes according to plan, they will be brought to heel by Cocytus once you give the order.”

“We’ll need to expand our range if we wish to have a better hold on this area in the future.” Momonga said with a nod as he looked at the newest map that Aura had drawn up. It wasn’t at the level of a cartographer by any means, but the Dark Elf girl had clearly taken distance into account during her scouting and areas where sapient beings lived were clearly marked on the map. “Once the Lizardmen are brought under our reign, it might be easier to get the next race to join us willingly.” He eyed the Toadmen village that Aura had marked at the other end of the large wetlands in the forest. ‘Country building and management are WAY out of my skill range… I wonder if there’s anyone that could teach me Kingcraft?’ He lamented his lack of any experience in the field and position that the members of Nazarick desired him to take. With a barely suppressed sigh, Momonga put the map of the Great Forest of Tob aside for later.

“That is all of the current reports, my Lord.” Albedo bowed as the papers on Momonga’s desk were moved aside. Seeing her beloved’s expression looking slightly weary, Albedo smiled and gracefully stepped around his desk. “My Lord Momonga…” She spoke with a tempting whisper.

“Albedo?” Momonga looked at the Succubus curiously. His eyes were naturally drawn to her bosom as it bounced from her steps.

Albedo stopped at his side and looked into his eyes with love and affection. “Please, allow me to help relieve your stress…darling~” Her cheeks turned a soft pink at calling her beloved Lord Momonga that for the first time.

Momonga nearly gaped at the offer from Albedo, but managed to not look like a complete idiot as he schooled his expression. He had to briefly touch the unshakeable core of his Primordial Deity being to even himself out for a second, but he managed it. “I did promise to be better for all of you…” Momonga said with a small nod. To him that meant being a better leader, someone worthy of the loyalty that had been pledged to him, but also to finally respond to the feelings of the former NPCs that had love for him as part of their creation by his old friends. Even if he still didn’t appreciate what had clearly been a joke at his expense from Tabula, Peroroncino, Bukubukuchagama, Beast King Mekongawa, and Nishikienrai.

Albedo’s beautiful smile made Momonga fully believe he’d made the right decision.

The Succubus started off by gently sitting in Momonga’s lap and letting him take hold of her. One arm around her lower back and resting on her hip, the other coming down to rest on her thigh, gently squeezing and caressing it through her thin white dress. “Mmm… Yes, darling… Touch me as much as you like~”

Momonga did so, pulling on the almost zero experience he had (the limited amount coming from virtual reality rather than real life) to trail his hand from her hip, up her side, over her shoulder, and then gently press against her long raven hair until their lips met for the first time.

“Mm!” Albedo’s entire body shook in joy at receiving a kiss from her beloved. Her black feathered wings flapped once out of her control, her entire body nearly getting hot and eager.

So soft… Warm too…’ Momonga thought to himself as he gently pulled back from Albedo’s lips.

Albedo’s eyes were bright as she almost chased after his lips, kissing him this time. “Mmm… My Lord… Momonga…” Albedo said between kisses as she shifted her position and straddled him, pressing her tits against his chest and moving his hands to rest on her ass.

“Easy, Albedo… There’s no rush…” Momonga managed to get out between their kissing. He gave her what she wanted though as his hands practically sank into her wonderful cheeks, squeezing and fondling her perfect ass all the while.

“Darling~” Albedo mewled in joy as Momonga played with her ass. She let out cute little gasps when Momonga’s kisses trailed across her cheek and then to her neck. “Hah…” Albedo let out a breathy sigh of joy at her love’s affectionate attention. “Please, my Lord, take comfort in my body to your heart’s content~” She pulled down the top of her white dress to free her tits for him.

Momonga’s eyes widened at seeing Albedo’s impressive rack bare for the first time. They were large, of course, the same perfect white as the rest of Albedo’s skin, and each was capped with a pink nipple and areolae. He could only stare at them for a moment, just admiring them, before Albedo gently coaxed him forward with her hands as she lovingly ran her fingers through his long, black hair that seemed to occasionally shine like the stars in the night sky.

So soft and amazing…’ Momonga reveled in the feeling of Albedo’s soft bosom welcoming him in to rest. He pressed his face into her ample cleavage, as Albedo clearly wanted him to, and let out a sigh as he inhaled her clean scent. His hands had never stopped their groping of her perfect rear either, something that the Succubus was taking immense delight in.

“Ooh… Yes, darling…more~” Albedo breathed out, her words like a beautiful chorus that dripped with lustful temptations.

Momonga wasn’t in any hurry to stop, much like any man that was having his first experience with a woman. He marveled at every scent, sensation, and sound coming from Albedo. The way she gently rolled her hips against him while he played with her ass. The breathy moans and coos when he nuzzled deeper into her tits. The warmth of her flesh, the smell of her body. Everything was amazing to Momonga as he let himself indulge.

Albedo was in heaven; she was sure of it. Her beloved Lord Momonga was kissing her, touching her, and giving her everything she wanted! ‘If only our clothes weren’t in the way~’ Albedo nearly moaned even in her own mind as she ground her core against the hardness she felt beneath her. “Aah!” She gasped as Moonga took one of her nipples into his mouth and started to suckle on it. “Yes, darling… Mmm, taste me…” She threw her head back and moaned long and low as she held Momonga to her tit.

It wasn’t much of a surprise that Momonga gave Albedo exactly what she asked for. He was very much enjoying this experience and suckled on Albedo’s nipple harder, even nibbling it a little to see if she liked that.

“YESSS!!!” Albedo cried out, her hips rolling into him harder as her body shook and she clung to him.

Did she just…?’ Momonga wondered, not minding the masculine pride that welled up in him at bringing Albedo to climax.

Albedo pulled his head away from her tits and Momonga blinked at the absolutely sensual and sultry look on Albedo’s face. Her cheeks were red and her breathing came in pants, her half-lidded eyes practically captured his gaze as she pulled his lips to hers. Unbidden her black feathered wings extended and Momonga’s wings responded in kind. Both of them wrapped their wings around each other, cutting off the rest of the world as they deepened their kiss and their tongues began to play.

“Darling…” Albedo whispered into Momonga’s ear within the darkened space made by their wings. Her hand trailed down his chest and pulled open his robe, her silky hand slipping inside a second later.

“Albedo!” Momonga breathed out as her soft hand took hold of his length. Words were lost on him a moment later as Albedo stroked him with dexterity and technique that seemed instinctive. If Momonga’s higher thinking had been active right now, he’d have considered that it would make sense for Albedo to have such instincts entirely because she was a Succubus. He might’ve also wondered when Albedo had taken her white gloves off…but such trivialities were lost on him at the moment.

“I live to please you, darling~” Albedo moaned as she kissed him again, a languid French kiss that carried on as she stroked him, heightening his pleasure.

Momonga could only enjoy the experience as Albedo continued to stroke his cock and French kiss him. Their bodies were both hot and the enclosed space within their wings only made their actions seem even more intimate. Not having any experience like this in his previous life, it was only a while before Momonga’s hips bucked and he crashed over the edge from Albedo’s soft hand.

Albedo’s nose flared as the first hot spray of her love’s seed hit her palm that had been teasing the tip of his cock. She quickly cupped her hand to catch the second shot as well, moving her free hand down to stroke his impressive length and coax out his entire load. Momonga’s pleasured groan, like a powerful rumble coming from deep within his chest, made her shiver in pleasure of her own at pleasing him. “So much, my love~” Albedo moaned with a sultry glee as she held up her cupped hand that was filled and covered in his hot seed.

Momonga could only watch in post-release awe as the gorgeous Succubus brought her hand to her mouth and drank his cum. Her tongue coming out to lick her palm and fingers clean further showed her lust and desire for him and his seed. Albedo’s yellow eyes were literally glowing in the darkened space made by their wings as she trembled in a minigasm from the taste and the emotions in her heart.

“So perfect… My love~” Albedo looked at Momonga with bright, clear eyes that shone with love and lust. “Nothing else could ever compare~” She moaned and her eyes widened when Momonga pulled her close and held her against his chest, their bodies flush against each other, her large tits molding to his more defined chest. Momonga’s hand gently ran through her long black hair, making her coo and snuggle closer to him, if that was even possible.

The two stayed there, in their own little world, for a long while. Both just enjoying the afterglow of their ‘stress relief’ together.

Albedo would leave Momonga’s office a while later, her hair slightly out of place and her dress clearly a little wrinkled, but what outshone it all was the glow that Albedo seemed to have. A gorgeous smile on her face, her skin practically shone with health and vitality. Her steps were light, as if she was walking on air too. All of the Homunculus Maids that saw her would later comment amongst themselves that she looked especially radiant today.

Momonga, meanwhile, had to head out to E-Rantel to receive his reward for taking down the vampire that had approached the fortress city and killed Adventurers. But even he had a noticeable spring in his step and a small smile on his face that wouldn’t go away. It actually took him a bit of time to get into the slightly gruff character of Momon after such a wonderful new experience!

-Slane Theocracy ~ Capital-

A young woman with long hair that was an even split right down the middle, white on the right side and black on the left, with a pale complexion, wearing a thick beige sweater with four large buttons on the front right side and black leggings with simple shoes on her feet, with a single silver and black greave on her right shin and a matching silver and black vambrace on her left arm, leaned against the wall of a corridor. In her hands was a toy that would be familiar to anyone from Momonga and Seimei’s world, but had never been seen before by the residents of the New World.

“Oh? Is that a Rubik’s Cube? I haven’t seen one in ages.” The Captain of the Black Scripture said as he approached the young woman, he was still in his full armor and carrying his spear from the recent meeting with the Cardinals.

“I can always get one side. But anything more than that was a true test of patience.” The woman replied without looking away from the toy, moving the top two turns to match up a few of the colored squares.

“Of course, that’s the point. Another trial from the Six Great Gods.” The Captain said with a polite smile. “In six centuries, few have passed it.”

The young woman looked at him for a second before closing her eyes. “So, what’s so dire that it called for a meeting of all the Cardinals?”

The Captain’s smile turned a little exasperated. “You got the report, same as the rest.”

“Didn’t read it.” The woman said without a care, already back to fiddling with the Rubik’s Cube. “It’s easier to ask someone that already knows the situation. Your last mission was to subjugate the Catastrophe Dragon Lord, right?” She turned the cube’s top twice. “I’m assuming that Seventh Seat: ‘Thousand Leagues Astrologer’, had a faulty prediction?”

“We ran into trouble… A powerful vampire. It murdered Cedran and Beaumarchais and severely injured Lady Karie, so we retreated.” The Captain said with a controlled tone and expression.

The young woman turned one of the cube’s sides and then the top again. “Hmm…. ‘Myriad Barriers’ and ‘Divine Chain’ dead… We just can’t seem to keep the ninth seat filled, huh?” She clearly didn’t care much at all about the deaths of the Black Scriptures’ members. If they weren’t deemed incompetent then they’d be resurrected through the rite by the priests soon enough anyway. “So…” The young woman looked over at the Captain, revealing herself to have heterochromia, one of her eyes a grey color, while the other was deep black to the point her pupil was nearly indistinguishable from her iris. “Who do you think is stronger? Me or that bloodsucker?”

The Captain’s expression barely changed for a second before he gave her a smile that didn’t reach his eyes. “You are, of course.” One of his personal fears was what this woman would do if she ever found out there was a person, especially a man, strong enough to defeat her.

“I see.” She sighed, completing the top side of the Rubik’s Cube. “That’s disappointing. I thought it might be able to defeat me.” She continued to work on the Rubik’s Cube, now trying to get a second side completed. “Come to think of it; I heard that the Sunlight Scripture was wiped out too.”

“It was.” The Captain confirmed. “A Caster called Ainz Ooal Gown has claimed responsibility. But we can’t confirm it because no bodies were left behind.”

The young woman stopped playing with the Rubik’s Cube and gave the Captain a side glance. “I see. So he’s strong?”

The Captain kept his expression from changing from years of practice. “Hard to say. The Sunlight Scripture’s Captain lost to the Blue Rose once.”

“Of course Nigun was outdone by those harpies.” The woman looked nonplussed, as if she completely expected such a thing from Nigun. She looked off to the side. “Why is a strong man so hard to find, Captain?” She but her right hand over her tummy and began to gently rub up and down over her thick sweater. “It doesn’t matter if he’s hideous, inside or out. He could even be inhuman for all I care. Best me, and his seed is all I would require.” A wide, almost off putting, grin spread across her face as she looked down at where her right hand was. “Our legacy would be a child of unmatched strength! Oh, they would make mommy proud someday…”

The Captain of the Black Scripture kept his expression and his body language from changing, even as his heart hammered in his chest from unease. This was exactly why he feared Zesshi Zetsumei (known to others by her real name of Antilene Heran Fouche) ever learning about any man stronger than her. The Captain truly believed that she would abandon the Slane Theocracy for any such man in hopes of making him her ‘husband’.

-Re-Estize Capital ~ Ro-Lente Castle ~ Royal Meeting Chamber-

Many noblemen sat around a long table of made of dark wood by a skilled craftsman many decades ago. Papers were laid out before most of the noblemen, but none of them were looking at them.

At the head of the table was the king of Re-Estize, Ramposa III. He was an older man of sixty years, his semi-long hair turned grey and white from age and decades of stress trying to keep his kingdom together through political infighting and numerous wars with their longtime enemy, the Baharuth Empire. Even is his well-made kingly attire of red and gold robes with a red cape with white fur-lined edges, and the royal crown worn upon his head, he still looked his age, not at all like the imposing ruler he’d once been when he inherited the throne from his own father. In truth, no former king of Re-Estize had ever held the crown as long as Ramposa had, most passing it down to their eldest son sometime in their mid-fifties at the latest. But Ramposa wanted to leave a peaceful kingdom for either of his two sons to rule over, not the current kingdom that was barely holding together.

“Listen, it’s high time we kick the Empire out of our borders and take the fight to them for once!” Marquis Boullope, a rather buff noblemen with a receding hairline of brown hair and a large scar on his forehead with a smaller one over his left eye, said firmly to everyone present.

“I couldn’t agree more.” Another nobleman said with a nod to the Marquis. “Constantly fighting off their invasions is not only tiresome, but a waste of good coin.” The man made it clear where his true concerns lay. “Those imperial dogs need to learn that Re-Estize has fangs of its own, and we’re not afraid to bite back!”

“You couldn’t be more right, Count.” A different nobleman agreed with the man. “We must strike swiftly and where they least expect it!”

Sometime later and the meeting ended with nothing of note being accomplished, as always.

Ramposa walked down the lavish corridor, using his royal scepter as walking cane, with Gazef at his side. The old king was clearly in poor spirits at another unproductive meeting where the nobles of his kingdom thought more about their own power than the stability and prosperity of the nation.

“If our strength declines, Baharuth will throw everything they have at us.” Gazef offered his advice as Chief Warrior to his king. “The nobles know nothing of war. All they care about are their own pockets.”

“But as long as those pockets run deep, we can keep the Empire in check.” Ramposa replied with the truth of the matter, no matter how much he didn’t like it. “We appease the nobles to keep the kingdom united.”

“Right.” Gazef acquiesced to Ramposa’s words, knowing that nothing could currently be done to change things.

Ramposa continued to walk before speaking again. “Be that as it may, I deeply regret my inability to defend you from their scheming. I should have done better.” He stopped and turned to look at Gazef, who had stopped exactly when the king did, on step behind and to the left, as was his position. “Fifty soldiers were insufficient; you needed more men and armaments. Please, forgive me for my failure.”

Gazef looked at his king, once more seeing him for the good man that he was, before he replied. “I was glad to do it. My duty is to protect king and country, no matter the odds.”

“Thank you.” Ramposa’s eyes showed his relief that Gazef didn’t hold the failure to prevent the nobles’ scheming against the weary king. Two sets of footsteps caught the attention of the king and the Chief Warrior. “Oh!” Ramposa’s eyes lit up at seeing his most favored daughter. “Renner!”

Princess Renner, the third princess of Re-Estize Kingdom, also called the ‘Golden Princess’ by many for her successful abolishment of slavery within the Kingdom and her many beneficial ideas, happily greeted her father. “Father! Chief Warrior!”

She sped up her walking as she rushed to her father. Her long, golden blonde hair swayed behind her from the speed, the small silver crown resting atop her head only staying on due to the design that threaded it through her hair. She had clear blue eyes that seemed to sparkle, and wore a light-blue dress of high quality with many white frills on it in the shape of flowers. She was known as a beauty among beauties within the Re-Estize Kingdom and many wondered when, and who, would take her hand in marriage since she was of marrying age now.

“Princess, wait!” Climb, her bodyguard, called out as he quickly took off after her. He was an average looking young man with short blonde hair and dark blue eyes. Climb wore a set of pure white plate mail (which denoted that it was made from mithril alloy) and had a regular sword at his hip.

“The nobles certainly kept you in there for a while.” Renner smiled up at her father.

“Indeed.” Ramposa smiled at her, placing both hands atop his scepter as he talked with his favorite daughter.

Renner looked down at the floor for a moment before looking back up at her father. “I had a wonderful thought earlier. I’ve been eagerly waiting to speak to you about it, but your meeting seemed to go on forever.

Ramposa barely held back a chuckle at his daughter’s bright eyes. “Well, I’m here now, tell me about it, my dear.” Renner’s ideas were always insightful, and if he had the power to, Ramposa would’ve implemented many of them already. He was certain if the nobles weren’t so against anything they perceived as a threat to their power, Re-Estize would already be heading in a much more prosperous direction with Renner’s ideas.

“I would love to, father, but I’m afraid it’s time for my stroll, I can’t miss it! Climb and I were just on our way to wander for a bit!” Renner smiled sweetly.

“I see. Then don’t let me keep you. But please come by my room when you’re done so that we can talk.” Ramposa requested with a soft smile. He knew how much Renner enjoyed her strolls. As a princess it was one of the few joys that could be safely provided for her without having to worry about a possible kidnapping or assassination attempt.

Renner curtsied perfectly, as was expected of a princess. “As you wish!” She then looked over her shoulder at Climb. “Let’s be off, Climb!” She took off without waiting for a response.

Climb bowed to Ramposa properly. “Excuse me, sir.” He waited less than a second to get the king’s dismissal, a mere nod in Renner’s direction, before taking off after the princess, always following behind her one step back and to the left.

Gazef shared a quick nod with Climb as the young man passed before turning back to Ramposa.

“About Master Ainz Ooal Gown,” Ramposa began, seeing Gazef’s reaction to the sudden topic change. “I would like to speak with him directly. So that I might thank him for saving my most loyal attendant. Would you make that happen for me, Gazef?”

Gazef closed his eyes for a moment, a small smile coming to his face as he thought of his savior from that day in Carne Village. “As benevolent as he is, I think those words alone would do. I’ll be sure to pass them along.” He wasn’t sure when he might next meet the powerful Caster, but he was sure they’d meet again one day, somewhere.

-E-Rantel ~ Adventurer’s Guild-

Momon and Nabe both looked at the Adamantite plates that Ainzach had offered them. It was the highest Rank an Adventurer could achieve, and one Rank higher than what Momon had requested for dealing with ‘Carmilla’.

Ainzach, sensing their questions, quickly explained. “After a thorough examination of the battlefield, confirmation of the vampire’s death based on both of your testimonies, and your sacrifice of an incredibly rare Sealing Crystal in defense of E-Rantel, it was decided to recognize your strength and reward your valor as fully as the Adventurer’s Guild could. An Orichalcum Plate would’ve been an insult to offer you both for what you’ve done.”

“I see.” Momon said as he accepted the Adamantite Plate, Nabe taking hers a second after him. Inside, Momonga was just glad that his fabricated story had fooled everyone. A lie about how shattering a Sealing Crystal unleashed a devastating blast as the power within went wild. ‘Given the incredible rarity of Sealing Crystals in this world, no one else is going to waste one to confirm my story.

“This makes you the third Adamantite Adventurer team in all of Re-Estize.” Ainzach congratulated Momon and Nabe with a smile and a firm handshake for both of them. “Going by the conventions, you’d take the ‘Black’ title, which fits your new moniker of ‘Raven Black Hero’ and your team’s name of ‘Darkness’ as well.”

“Conventions?” Momon asked as he put the Adamantite Plate around his neck.

Ainzach nodded, knowing Momon was a foreigner. “Yes, a bit of a tradition that got started a while back. We have the ‘Red’ in the team ‘Drop of Red’. The ‘Blue’ for the ‘Blue Roses’ team. And now the ‘Black’ in your ‘Darkness’ team. If we see the rise of a fourth Adamantite team, they’ll take the ‘White’ title and all four will be filled.”

“What would happen in the case of a fifth Adamantite team appearing?” Nabe asked in her normal cool, almost flat, tone.

“I wish Adamantite teams were that common.” Ainzach sighed, knowing how much better off the Adventurer’s Guild, and the Kingdom as a whole, would be if they had more Adamantite level Adventurers to take on powerful Monsters or insidious schemes that cropped up from the criminal underworld of Re-Estize. “Re-Estize has never had five Adamantite teams in its history, unfortunately.”

Momon nodded in understanding now. “Hence the tradition having only four spots.”

Ainzach nodded to the black armored man. “Exactly.” He looked at Momon for a moment before picking up a Quest form from his desk. “I hate to ask right away, since you just now became Adamantite Rank, but is there any way you could take on this new Quest we’ve received? An incredibly large Basilisk has been spotted in the wastes bordering the Katze Plains. If it gets to a village, it’ll be a massacre.”

Momon took the Quest paper from Ainzach and looked it over, noting the location and how long ago the creature had been seen. “I’ll take care of it. A Quest like this should settle any doubts about my rapid rise to Adamantite Rank, I would think.” The fact that the reward was paid in gold coins instead of copper or silver showed not only how dangerous the Quest was, but that it would be incredibly lucrative for Momonga who couldn’t spread YGGDRASIL gold around when he didn’t know how it would affect Nazarick’s ongoing operations. ‘This will be a boon for getting several different experiments started. It couldn’t have come at a better time!

“Yes, no one would be able to doubt a warrior that slew a Basilisk.” Ainzach confirmed for Momon. The great lizards were known as an ‘ultimate test’ of a warrior’s skills for a reason. Even Adamantite Level warriors took a Cleric that could cast spells to protect against petrification and poison with them if they planned to challenge a Basilisk.

“What about the materials from the creature?” Momon asked, knowing from his information gathering that some Monsters had valuable parts that could be harvested and sold for good money.

Ainzach nearly blinked in surprise from the sheer confidence that Momon had in his victory. “They would be yours to harvest and then keep or sell at your discretion, of course.” He informed Momon promptly. Looking over at Nabe, and recalling that Momon had said that she was capable of Third Tier Magic, made him presume that Momon’s confidence lay in Nabe’s magical prowess to nullify the Basilisk’s petrifying gaze and fatal venom. “I wish you a swift and overwhelming victory, ‘Darkness’.” He addressed them by their team name, as was proper when sending out a team on a Quest that he personally asked them to accept.

Score!’ Momonga cheered inside his mind as he tossed a wave over his shoulder while Momon and Nabe headed out of the guild. ‘If this Basilisk is big enough, then the materials might even double the reward! Not to mention the kind of Undead I could raise with the bones.’ A new addition to Nazarick’s defenses would always be welcome.

As Momon and Nabe headed down the street to the Inn of Shining Gold (the largest and best inn in all of E-Rantel), both made sure that their new Adamantite Plates could be easily seen by everyone. Once word spread that a new Adamantite Adventurer team was in Re-Estize, plenty of offers would come in for them, and with those offers, chances to make beneficial connections for the future land that Nazarick would rule.

-Inn of Shining Gold ~ Momon and Nabe’s Suite-

“Lord Momonga…” Narberal had an uncharacteristic blush on her cheeks as Momnga held her to his side as they lay in the large bed together.

“Is there something wrong, Narberal?” Momonga asked, wondering if perhaps he’d forgotten some kind of protective spell to make sure that no one could hear or see anything that happened with their room.

Narberal shook her head once. “N-No…of course not, my Lord.” She wouldn’t complain if Momonga wanted to hold her close like this. She was happy to be in her regular maid outfit and tending to the Supreme One, even if it was in a way that she’d only imagined in the privacy of her mind before.

Momonga smiled slightly. “I’m glad. But if anything becomes too much, let me know immediately, that’s an order.” He knew that the maids would never say ‘no’ to him under normal circumstances, so he had to make sure they would somehow.

“Yes, Lord Momonga.” Narberal accepted instantly. With a tentative and slow movement, Narberal gently put her arm over Momonga’s chest and rested her head on his shoulder. She idly noticed that their long dark hair was mixing together on the bed, and that thought brought a small, happy smile to her lips for a moment.

They were both still fully clothed, Momonga not trying to force anything on the kuudere maid. Narberal would eventually get more comfortable like this and then they could progress from there. The two would end up just cuddling for a good, long while without any interruptions.

-Nazarick ~ Later-

“Uughhh…my head…” Brita gently placed her hand to her forehead as she awoke. Slowly opening her eyes, she looked around and found herself in a nice, if rather plain room. “An inn?” It was certainly much nicer than the cheapest inn in E-Rantel where she normally stayed between Quests. Thinking about Quests made all of the memories come flooding back in a horrific and nightmarish playback of what had happened to her the last time she was awake. “AAAAUUUUHHHH!!!” Brita screamed loudly, holding her head and closing her eyes, trying to block out the horrible images.

After several minutes, Brita managed to regain some control over herself as she lay back in the comfortable bed and tried to process everything.

“Are you done screaming?” A woman’s voice asked, making Brita nearly throw herself off the bed in her shock.

“Wh-Who’re you?!” Brita demanded as she looked at the other woman.

The blonde woman with green eyes, wearing a maid outfit, gave a short bow to Brita. “My name is Foire. I’m a maid in service to Lord Ainz Ooal Gown.”

Brita didn’t know who that was, but figured he had to be a noble to have three names and maids. “Um… How did I get here?” She remembered the vampire, the crazed beast that looked like a horrendous cross between a human and a bat with the vicious mouth full of fangs. The sadistic delight the cackling Monster had taken in brutally slaughtering the Party that had been thrown together to scout out the bandit camp.

A bit of memory alteration by Momonga (normally a spell used in YGGDRASIL to help facilitate teaching NPC’s new Skills by automatically removing ones that the Player didn’t want the NPC to have anymore) and Brita no longer recalled what Shalltear’s normal appearance looked like. In her mind the vampire that had attacked them had looked like the monstrous form, but with slight differences, such as Shalltear’s silver hair being made black in the altered memories, and with more bat-like features compared to Shalltear’s actual transformation.

“You were brought here by one of servants of Lady Shalltear.” Foire answered exactly as Lord Momonga had instructed her to.  “You were the only survivor found amongst the dead. You’ve been asleep for several days, but we’ve done our best to properly care for you in that time.”

“Days?!” Brita said in shock that she’d been out for so long. It would go a ways to explain her current thirst and hunger though. It wasn’t easy to feed or give water to an unconscious person after all. The bare minimum was probably all they’d been able to get into her.

Foire confirmed the time that Brita had been unconscious with a simple nod. “Now that you’re awake, a meal will be brought to you and then Lord Ainz will visit you.” The maid bowed slightly and then left before Brita could say anything.

With a long sigh, Brita fell back onto the bed and looked at the ceiling. “I can only imagine what this is going to cost me.” She worried in the back of her mind what this Lord would demand of her for probably saving her life and taking care of her for days already. “I doubt he’d want my body at least…” She didn’t think she looked bad or anything. But noblemen and noblewomen certainly looked different from commonfolk like her. “Noblemen like their women thin and soft…” She placed her left hand onto her right bicep, feeling the muscle and only now realizing that her normal clothes were cleaned and folded on top of a small chest of drawers against the wall. “Eh?” She looked down at herself and saw a simple, loose cotton shirt and matching cotton pants. “They changed and bathed me too… These are cotton clothes too…” Cotton clothing was available to commoners, but most wore woolen clothes or linen given that it was cheaper. Adventurers like her often wore some leather as well, but cotton clothes of this quality wasn’t something that Brita would normally be able to afford without saving up.

Now wondering if she indeed wouldn’t be asked for her body given the cost of practically everything she’d seen so far, Brita wondered if she’d be kept as a concubine or something. Such thoughts vanished when Foire returned with a tray of food and Brita’s stomach rumbled loudly with hunger. The Adventurer woman quickly ate, instantly marveling at the delicious food, and didn’t even notice when Foire left the room again.

“I’m glad that you enjoyed your meal.” Momonga spoke up as he entered the room and saw the empty tray and the satisfied Brita sitting on the bed.

“Huh?” Brita shook her head, a slightly blush darkening her tanned skin for a moment as she stopped staring at the man that had come into the room. ‘He’s so handsome though!’ From the regal facial features, the blemish free skin, the long and lustrous black hair, his build (or what she could see of it at any rate), and the sheer presence he seemed to exude, Brita was now one-hundred percent certain that this must be Lord Ainz Ooal Gown.

Okay, maybe being his concubine wouldn’t be so bad…’ Brita thought to herself for a second.

Momonga smiled at Brita as he stood next to the bed. “I’m glad that you seem well. Your Adventurer Plate said your name was Brita.”

“Yes, my Lord.” Brita spoke politely and as formally as she knew how. “Though I’m not sure I’ll be returning to that life after what happened.” She shook her head once to banish the memories of the vampire and the slaughter she’d witnessed. “Thank you for saving me and taking care of me these past few days.” She bowed her head low. “I’ll do whatever I can to pay you back for everything, I promise.” Brita didn’t look up at the nobleman, knowing that many of them didn’t like interacting with commoners anymore than they had to. “I-It will take me a while, but I swear I’ll pay back every coin that it cost you.”

“I believe you had quite the horrible experience, given how my subordinate found you.” Momonga said in a gentle tone. Brita flinching slightly confirmed that her memories hadn’t been damaged by the alteration, which Momonga was happy about. “If you’re not willing to return to being an Adventurer; I do have a way you could repay me, if you’re willing to hear it.”

Here it comes…’ Brita thought to herself as she reached for the hem of the loose cotton shirt. “I’ll do whatever it takes, my Lord.”

Momonga closed his eyes and nodded. “Excellent.” He opened his eyes and saw Brita lifting the cotton shirt upwards, clearly about to take it off. A second for his brain to process what Brita had interpreted his offer as passed before Momonga stopped her with a forced cough. “That was…not what I had in mind…”

Brita blushed fiercely as she lowered the shirt quickly. If he’d waited even another second or so, then he’d have seen her breasts. “I-I’m sorry, my Lord! I misinterpreted your words!” Brita bowed low again, though this time it was mostly to hide her red face. Embarrassment filled her entire being and she was sure this nobleman probably thought she was no better than some street walker now.

“No, no… The fault is mine. I didn’t think about how my words would sound in this situation.” Momonga waved off her apology, surprising the hell out of Brita. She had certainly never heard of a nobleman admitting to being at fault to a commoner.

“If I may ask, my Lord. What way did you have in mind for me to repay my debt?” Brita asked, at least her face wasn’t red anymore now.

Momonga took a second to control himself before he spoke. “There is a village not too far from here called Carne Village. I saved most of the villagers from a group of knights that tried to massacre them a while back. Since then, they’ve been doing what they can to strengthen their village and become stronger so that they don’t suffer that same way again.”

Brita looked up at Momonga with some interest showing in her blue eyes. “They sound like a tough group of villagers.”

“They’re trying to be, and it’s a bit inspiring to see them pulling together as they are.” Momonga gave her a small smile. “I help out occasionally when I have some time. Being a Caster makes some things easier to accomplish after all.” He saw Brita perk up slightly when he mentioned being a Caster. “One of my subordinates keeps watch over the village from time to time, but can’t always be there, of course.”

“You want me to move to Carne Village and help protect them.” Brita figured it out easily enough, she was fairly intelligent, or at least she liked to think so. “I appreciate the confidence in my skills, my Lord… But I’m only an Iron Plate… That’s second from the bottom, so I’m nothing special.”

Momonga saw the self-deprecation for what it was…a result of despair. Brita had seen Shalltear’s power, found her own insignificant, and had watched everyone around her die brutally. It was no wonder that she’d fallen into despair and lost all confidence in her own abilities. “Maybe you feel like you’re nothing special now, but I believe you can build yourself up better than whatever you were before.”

Brita looked up at him in confusion. Why did this nobleman believe in her when they’d just met? For that matter, since when were noblemen this nice? “What do you mean…Lord?”

“If one path is closed to you in life, take a different one.” Momonga said simply. “Id you can’t go back to being an Adventurer, why not put the skills you have to work in a new job? I believe Carne only has a single Ranger living there at the moment. Perhaps you could give that a try?”

“A Ranger?” Brita thought about it for a long moment. ‘It’s not unheard of for some Adventurers to change jobs after learning certain skills over time. Some become guards and the like for nobles. A few retire to a life in rural village with no reigning noble and act as guards or Rangers.’ With a long, slow breath Brita made her decision. “If they’ll have me, I’ll at least give becoming a Ranger a try.”

Momonga smiled at Brita. “They’ll most definitely accept you, Miss Brita.” He knew that Carne was trying to take in more people, like the homeless in E-Rantel, to make up for the people that had died in the attack by the Slane Theocracy in their plot to trap and kill Gazef Stronoff. “As I said earlier, I visit the village from time to time, so we’ll see each other when I do so. I’ll check in on you during those visits and make sure that you’re doing well.”

Brita felt a smile form on her face at the genuine care that she was being shown. “I’ll do my best to live up to your expectations, Lord Gown.” She bowed her head again.

“Whatever path you choose, whether it be as a Ranger or just another villager, I believe that you’ll excel, Miss Brita.” Momonga told her with a kind and encouraging look, while also removing any requirement that she follow the Ranger path if it didn’t suit her.

In truth, he hoped she stuck with the Ranger path. There was an experiment he’d been wanting to try since Nazarick had first started to settle in this world. It had become a plan in the back of his mind, especially after his visit with Seimei and all of the questions that he’d had answered by his old friend from YGGDRASIL. He didn’t think he’d have a better opportunity to try it than with a low-level Adventurer like Brita who was basically about to redistribute her skills and change Classes, to put it into familiar game terms that Momonga was comfortable with.

“Thank you very much, my Lord.” Brita appreciated the support and confidence in her, even more so when she barely had any confidence in herself right now.

“Think nothing of it, Miss Brita.” Momonga reassured her. “Once you’re dressed again, I’ll take you to Carne Village myself.”

Brita blinked at his words in surprise. He’d take her there himself? Why would he waste his time when one of his servants could do it? ‘Why is he spending so much time and effort on me of all people? He didn’t try to take advantage of me or anything either.’ Despite all of her confusion on the subject of Lord Ainz Ooal Gown, Brita couldn’t help but think that the world would be a much better place if more nobles were like him.

Momonga left the room so that Brita could get dressed in peace. Once the Adventurer woman was done and stepped out of the room, Momonga held out his arm to her. Brita blushed slightly at the gentlemanly gesture and took his arm.

Then she experienced teleportation for the first time.

“Where? What? How?” Brita looked around, noticing that they were on top of a hill now. “Was that… [Teleportation]?!” She’d only heard about Casters that were good enough to use that spell!

Momonga had managed to hand his Ring of Ainz Ooal Gown over to Mare (who was currently invisible thanks to a spell) before he answered Brita’s question. “Yes, it was. It makes travel much easier.” Not giving Brita a chance to look behind her and see Nazarick, Momonga kept her focus on him. “And the higher spell allows us to cover much more distance.”

“Higher spell?” Brita looked at him in confusion. She was no Caster and so didn’t know that there was a [Teleportation] spell above the one that he’d just used.

“[Greater Teleportation]!” Momonga laughed and Brita only had a second to process that before they vanished.

-Carne Village-

In a blink of light Momonga and Brita appeared a short distance outside the gate of Carne Village.

“L-Lord Gown… Please warn me before you do that…” Brita requested, now having to look around and try to get her bearings again.

“My apologies, Miss Brita. It was merely a small prank on my part.” Momonga chuckled as he walked her towards the gate.

The entire village was thrilled to see their savior again.

None more so than Lupusregina Beta, of course.

“Lord Ainz.” Lupusregina bowed to him the second that she saw him. “I’m thrilled to see you again.” To be fair, it wasn’t like it had been long since she’d last seen him. Lupusregina returned home to Nazarick every night and returned to Carne after breakfast most days. She had plenty of time to see her Lord, and crush, each day when he wasn’t too busy.

“I’m happy to see you too, Lupusregina.” Momonga gave her a warm smile that made the Werewolf feel wonderful just from seeing it.

Brita blinked at seeing Lupusregina, and the other redheaded woman looked at her curiously for a moment.

“We match!” Lupusregina grinned brightly at Brita.

“Huh?” Brita looked confused.

Lupusregina held up one of her long braids, pointed to it, and then at Brita’s own red hair. “Match.” Then she touched her cheek with her index finger and circled it once, emphasizing her skin tone, before pointing at Brita’s tanned skin. “Match.”

Brita briefly compared the hair color and skin tones before a small grin appeared on her face. “I guess we do.” Her skin had always been slightly darker than a lot of other people’s, and her tan from working outdoors as an Adventurer had only increased it. Lupusregina seemed to have that complexion naturally, but it was still a very close match.

Momonga was glad that Lupusregina was easy to get along with. She happily showed him the new things that Carne had been doing recently, giving him a report while making it look like she was just chatting with her master as they toured the village to show Brita around. The Village Chief warmly welcomed Brita to Carne and gave her one of the empty houses without charge, though Momonga placed ten silver coins (equal to one gold coin) into the Headman’s hand anyway, much to the older man’s surprise.

Brita had been startled to see the Goblins helping out around the village, but after an explanation and then meeting Enri Emmot, their ‘Boss’ apparently, she’d calmed down. It would definitely take some getting used to…okay, a lot of getting used to after being an Adventurer…but she saw the lack of hostility from the Goblins and how they practically fawned over Enri, so they didn’t seem to pose any threat.

Latimon was the sole Ranger in Carne Village, an older man that hunted and trapped in the Great Forest of Tob to provide for himself. Whenever he had extra from a hunt, or if his traps happened to be especially full one day, he shared freely with the other villagers. He would be teaching Brita the ropes of being a Ranger and the skills required to be successful. The two hit it off fairly well, and Latimon had said he’d give her a couple days to get settled in Carne before they began lessons.

“I don’t know what to say…” Brita admitted as they enter her new house for the first time. It was enough for two or three people at most, but it was more than she’d ever had at the cheap inn back in E-Rantel. “Thank you, Lord Gown…for everything. You’re truly a great man.”

“Lord Ainz is the best!” Lupusregina agreed wholeheartedly, glad that this new woman understood such a simple thing already.

Momonga chuckled lightly. “Think nothing of it, Miss Brita.” He walked into the house and pulled out a water pitcher from a seemingly normal brown bag attached to his hip. It was a light blue color and Momonga set it next to the stone seat in the kitchen space. A second water pitcher, this one a light red, was placed on the opposite side of the sink while Brita just looked stunned at the obviously magical item. “These are known as Pitchers of Endless Water. They can produce limitless amounts of fresh, clean, potable water, but only at a set speed. The blue one produces cool water and the red one produces hot water. They can easily fill a bathtub in just a few minutes.”

Brita walked closer in a daze and slowly inspected the magic items pouring water from each one and testing the temperature of each. “Y-You’re just giving these to me?”

“Since you’ve come to Carne Village at my request, it would be remiss of me to not make sure that you’re comfortable.” Momonga said as if it was just a simple matter of course. To him it was, but that was neither here nor there. “I don’t have a lot of these items, so I’ll trust that you won’t lose them.” He was an item hoarder back in YGGDRASIL, but even he didn’t have more than a dozen copies of both versions of the Pitcher of Endless Water.

“Of course not…” Brita shook her head rapidly. “I’ll take care of them to the best of my ability!” Each one of these was probably worth a literal fortune! Not that she was planning to sell them, but still… The fact that Lord Gown was giving them to her, or at least letting her borrow them for as long as she lived in Carne Village, was mind boggling.

There was a knock on the open door and Momonga, Lupusregina, and Brita turned to see Foire standing in the doorway to the house.

“Lord Ainz, I’ve brought the items you requested.” Foire bowed to her master, while holding up another simple-looking brown bag.

“Thank you, Foire, excellent work as always.” Momonga took the bag from her.

Foire blushed prettily at the praise from the Supreme One. “Your words are wasted on me, my Lord.”

Brita thought she was done being shocked for the day, but was quickly proven wrong as the simple brown bag was unloaded and plenty of cotton clothes, as well as the ‘pajamas’ as Momonga called them, that she’d been wearing before were placed on her kitchen table. A second bag, this one not magical, was tied closed and Momonga mentioned it should contain underthings for her. Naturally it wasn’t opened right now. A bathtub was pulled out of the magical bag, Brita just gave up being shocked at that point. The tub was easily set up in one of the empty rooms and a drain was made to the outside of the house easily enough with a single metal pipe and a kick from Lupusregina’s foot that made a small hole in the stone wall.

Did Brita say she was done being shocked? Well she had been wrong about that.

Once everything for Brita had been taken out of the magical bag, both Momonga and Lupusregina left the soon-to-be Ranger to get settled in. Brita watched them walk away from the door of her new house almost in a daze.

“My, my, to be so favored by Lord Gown.” One of the village women giggled to another as they were passing by.

“Lord Gown brought her here personally too. Perhaps she’s meant to be a wife or mistress in the future?” The other woman tittered before they were out of earshot.

Brita felt her entire face practically burning at this point. She stepped back into the house and closed the door, using the metal latch to lock it as well. Brita saw the red pitcher next to the sink and picked it up before taking it to the bathtub and tilting it so that it started filling up the wooden tub. “I’m just going to take a bath, put on the comfortable pajamas, and sleep the rest of the day away.” The former Adventurer decided right then and there.

It was the only way that she was going to be able to get over all of the shocks she’d experienced today.

She had practically forgotten about her trauma, for now. To her relief, it wouldn’t revisit her in her dreams tonight either. No, her dreams tonight belonged to only one person…one man…and she’d wake up tomorrow almost as flustered as she was after all of the shocks today.

-Nazarick ~ Throne Room-

Clementine had her head bowed low, touching the floor in fact, as she prostrated herself before the black throne of Nazarick and the God that sat upon it. She could feel the eyes of the other residents of the Great Tomb upon her, many hostile still, and others nearly burning her with their silent judgement.

“Clementine, raise your head.” Momonga spoke, affecting the voice of a ruler as best he could to appease the image that the many residents of Nazarick had of him.

Clementine slowly raised her head, but not her body, to look up at Momonga.

“You’ve taken your punishment for interfering in my plans, even unknowingly. As well, you’ve also given Nazarick a great deal of information on Martial Arts through your various tests during said punishment.” Momonga said as he kept up the act. “But most importantly,” He raised his voice for emphasis. “You immediately identified the enemy that affected Shalltear so that we may payback their attack against us!” That got many of the harsh gazes to disappear, or at the very least lessen significantly. “For that, you have earned a reward.” He stood up from the black throne and walked down the short steps until he was on the floor with everyone else. Momonga stopped directly before Clementine and looked down at her, their eyes locking. “I offer you two choices, Clementine.” He held up his left hand, nothing in it at all. “Your freedom from this place, after appropriate measures are taken to ensure that no information about Nazarick will ever be able to be taken from you.” Momonga raised his right hand, a small syringe in it with a small amount of liquid inside. “Or the chance to join Nazarick forevermore and become more than you are now.”

The syringe in his hand was the YGGDRASIL item known as ‘Chimeric Cells’. It was a Race Change Item that could alter a Player’s Race randomly to any of the available Basic Races in the game. It was a purely RNG and luck-based item, but it was also one with almost no restrictions, aside from not working on the Undead. Players that chose Undead Races had to go through a much more strenuous process to change Race in YGGDRASIL.

This could very well be Nazarick’s first experiment in Race Changing within the New World.

Clementine didn’t hesitate in the slightest with her choice. “I choose to serve you, my Lord. Forever and always. All glory to Lord Ainz Ooal Gown!”

“Glory to Lord Ainz!” The many gathered residents chorused at the same time, many of them pleased by the woman’s quick, and correct in their minds, choice to forever pledge herself to the Supreme One.

Momonga kneeled down to Clemetine and raised her into a kneeling position. “I’m very pleased by your choice, Clementine.” He said to her with a smile that made the blonde woman smile back at him reflexively. He gently took her arm and as easily as he could, pierced her skin and put the needle into a vein. Momonga depressed the plunger, injecting the ‘Chimeric Cells’ into Clementine, and then pulled the syringe out of her arm, where it promptly vanished into nothing.

“Nnnnnggghhh…” Clementine suppressed a pained yelp as her arm felt like it was on fire. The heat and pain quickly spread up her arm and into her chest. Her heart started beating rapidly, her breaths came in short, sharp gasps, she felt more heat within her body until it became the only thing she could focus on at all. Her senses vanished one by one and Clementine was sure that she’d fallen to the floor, but she couldn’t feel it. Time became meaningless, only the all encompassing heat and pain existed. She was sure that she was probably writhing on the floor at this point, but she didn’t have the sensation left to experience it.

It was only a minute of watching Clementine writhe on the floor for the residents of Nazarick in the Throne Room.

Clementine felt something other than burning and pain, and that alone snapped her to awareness. She was in the dark…no, her eyes were just closed. Opening her red eyes she blinked twice to clear the fuzziness. The high ceiling so far away looked…brighter? Not just that, but the slight shuffling of feet and the quiet murmurs of the other Nazarick residents sounded clearer and sharper. She could smell all of the closest ones to her as well…the new information felt like it should make her head spin, yet it didn’t. Her mind was processing everything as if it was perfectly normal.

“Can you stand, Clementine?” Momonga asked, and the woman looked up at him from the floor.

“Y-Yes, my Lord.” Clementine got to her feet quickly, but didn’t get any negative effects from such a rapid change of position. If anything, she felt like her balance was better than it ever had been before. Her tail swayed behind her and Clementine realized that the appendage was helping her balance.

Then that thought caught up with her mind.

Reaching behind her, Clementine took hold of her new tail. “What the fuck?” She noted that it was covered in fur in a similar blonde color to her hair, but with black stripes. Looking down, she ran her eyes all over her body, looking for any further new additions. It wasn’t until she touched the top of her head that she felt them…ears.

Fluffy fucking ears.

“No…” Clementine was starting to suspect what she’d become. “You cannot be serious…”

“You look a lot cuter this way!” Aura smiled at the new Weretiger in their midst.

Clementine hung her head. “I didn’t want to be cute… I wanted to be fearsome.”

“Ungrateful little bitc…” Albedo’s curse, and probably an entire tirade, was cut off by a single look from Momonga.

“The Race that is granted by the ‘Chimeric Cells’ is random. But you should be much stronger now, and you've clearly become a Race that will allow you to capitalize on your speed-based warrior build.” Momonga explained the initial benefits of Clementine becoming a Weretiger. It seemed like Clementine had hit the jackpot, in Momonga’s gamer opinion, by nailing a new Race that promoted and improved upon everything that she already had. “Luckily, Lupusregina is a Werewolf, so she will be able to help you master your new state of being when she’s not watching over the village.”

Clementine bowed at the waist to Momonga. “Yes, my Lord, thank you very much for the honor of joining Nazarick and serving you forevermore.” Her words seemed to further gain her some good will from the other residents of the Great Tomb. ‘I’m going to have perverts eye-humping me even more than they used to. That or I’m going to be stuck with being called cute forever. Fuck…

“In time, much like Lupusregina, you’ll learn to shift into a fully human appearance or into a complete beast form. How fast you master such traits will depend entirely on your own effort, Clementine.” Momonga explained how the various therianthropes of YGGDRASIL worked without going into any real detail.

“I will give it only my absolute best to be a better servant to you, my Lord.” Clementine promised him, hearing with her new ears the small sounds of approval from the various gathered members of Nazarick. She felt Momonga’s gaze on her tits, her cleavage being rather prominent in her current shirt, and her heart thumped in her chest while her body heated up slightly, as if by instinct. ‘Maybe there are some benefits to come?’ Clementine considered as she stood back up to her full height and gave Momonga a small grin when their eyes met, after Momonga had given her a once over, of course.

She certainly wouldn’t mind being his kitty.

Where the fuck did that come from?’ Clementine wondered, not used to her new Weretiger instincts yet. She wasn’t arguing against them…far from it…she just hadn’t expected the thought to pop into her head like that. “I have claws now…” She noticed that her new form apparently was shifting slightly without her conscious decision. “This is going to take a while…isn’t it?”

Momonga placed a hand onto her shoulder. “You’ll have all the help you need to acclimate to your new form. Anything else can come after that.”

“Thank you, Lord Ainz.” Clementine gave him a genuine smile.

“Members of Nazarick can call me by my true name, Momonga.” Momonga said to her with his own smile.

Clementine felt her heart beat strongly again at the new level of trust and closeness being given to her. “Yes, Lord Momonga.” Her tail swayed happily behind her and she couldn’t care less when Momonga started watching it. If anything, she wouldn’t mind if he wanted to pet her. ‘Okay…not wrong…but fuck.

Primal instincts were going to be a new thing for Clementine to learn how to deal with for the foreseeable future!

Boom! More changes lead to reactions to those changes!

The new pieces in the plot are moving and developing!

You gotta love when new and interesting things happen in a story, right?

Albedo and Momonga have their first experience with each other, and both like it VERY much! Kek!

Narberal gets cuddles! So cute!

Momon and Nabe are recognized as Adamantite Adventurers! Woohoo! Time to make a few useful connections for future plans!

We see the issues within the Re-Estize Kingdom that’re slowly tearing it apart from the inside out. Will the Kingdom go down the same path as in Canon?

Brita is awoken and meets Momonga! Cue instant ‘less than pure’ thoughts from Brita! Lol!

Momonga makes sure to steer her in the direction he wants her to go for a future experiment. Nothing harmful or anything, but he needs her to ‘Change Class’ for lack of a better term to get the most data. In that vein, Brita moves to Carne Village to learn to be a Ranger! Momonga sets her up damn nicely too! I’m sure that won’t have any effect on Brita’s feelings. Hehehehe~

Clemetine got to choose her reward from two options!

Freedom was less appealing than staying with Momonga and Nazarick. Clementine makes her choice and Momonga got to experiment with the first ‘Race Change’ of the New World.

Clementine becomes a Weretiger! Bonus to all stats and one hell of a boon to a speed-based warrior build like hers!

But also…kitty, kitty~

How fast will she master her new body? And will she get a handle on her new instincts that want her to be Momonga’s pet?

Keep reading to find out!

Until I get your reviews, later!

Glad that you're liking it! Small changes lead to bigger changes later, right? lol No, Sebas is gentleman butler, only one waifu for him! Kek! Celicia has a different role to play later on, look forward to that!

Kairomaru

Death is nothing to Nazarick and the Primordial Deity that lives there. lol But yeah, you'll see Tuare's story and how it plays out this time soon enough. Tiny spoiler...the Eight Fingers had a REALLY bade time in Canon...it doesn't get better here. *Evil cackles*

Palerider6660

We need pictures of Weretiger Clementine lol.

Kairomaru

The official artist for Overlord (so-bin) has already done it! https://danbooru.donmai.us/posts/1412792 https://danbooru.donmai.us/posts/1616063 https://www.reddit.com/r/overlord/comments/ktgrpm/summer_clementine_by_sobin/ Enjoy!

Thank you for the great chapter, I really like how you've used Clementine so far and am curious to see where you take this next. Stay safe out there and keep up the good work!

Kairomaru

You're welcome! I'm glad you've enjoyed her character arc so far! I have future plans for our new adorable tiger girl, for sure! Look forward to them! I'll keep doing my best!

Kirito Beater

Well done my man.. loving the redemption of Clementine and the way everything is unfolding. Albedo finally getting what she wants from old boy

Kairomaru

Glad you liked it! Clementine's redemption working out with everyone, so far, brings me joy that the character arc was done well. Yes! Make Albedo a happy Succubus! Kek!

Racenrise

Another great chapter from you again. i dont know how but I keep forgetting this one, and then you update it and i find myself thinking about how much i love this overlord story.

Kairomaru

Thank you very much! Happy that you liked it! I have way too many stories, it's not hard to forget one from time to time. lol Just glad that you enjoy it when you see the updates!

Captain Amurco

Thanks for the chapter. Do you have any idea when you're going to start uploading this to fanfiction.net and what the name will be?

Kairomaru

Glad you enjoyed it! I won't upload any stories to FFNet or AO3 until I finish one that's already posted. So many stories are in-progress and there's few groups that're more demanding than fanfiction readers. Putting out a chapter every few months gets me tons of criticism and annoying PMs, and even when I update upwards of 8 stories per month on the free sites, I STILL get crappy messages from more people than I care to count about how slow my updates are.

Captain Amurco

Understandeble. Do you have any idea what you are going to name this story yet?

nigh13shade

Please please please tell me that Aizen's getting a pet kitty

GameJunkie999

I'm still annoyed that I had to wake up to this as I was leaving for work. But goddammit it Albedo getting what she's been wanting definitely improved my mood. Good post

Kairomaru

Sorry... Why don't you want Albedo to get what she wants? Happy you enjoyed it!

Kairomaru

Aizen? You mean Ainz/Momonga? Because yes, that was always part of the plan.

Kairomaru

I'll figure out a Title when the time comes. Feel free to offer a suggestion, if you want.

The_Slave_Knight

I'm really glad that you're still uupdating this. I love Overlord so it's good to see. The only thing that I find disappointing is that Ainz hasn't reigned down unholy judgment on the Theocracy, but that's because I love reading/watching characters go "Rage Mode". Anyway, as always, I look forward to reading more.

Kairomaru

Glad that you enjoy it so much! Yeah, it updates when it's requested via Tier Reward. Momonga's retaliation against the Theocracy will happen soon enough. He needs intelligence on their defenses that Clementine might not know about. Would suck to fire off a powerful spell only for some barrier or something to block it, or worse, redirect it.

meh

Quaiesse is in for a bad time

Kairomaru

So very bad when Clementine shows off her new power...and her new claws. *Wicked chuckles*

sebastian contreras acuña

Now that Clementine is a big cat I need to know if momonga has something to do with a catnip, i also look forward to the moment when he purrs uncontrollably for a few pats of reward

Kirito Beater

I see another strong lady (Zetsumei) may be making her way to Ainz/Momonga down the road as well. She's definitely going to want his Godly baby gravy. Lmao
