So, my main issue with the show so far is that it focuses too much on the characters and not enough on the mystery, which isn't an issue in it of itself, but given that's this show is only 6 episodes you're going to have a number of threads left hanging or the series will hastily wrap up the mystery. It would've made more sense to start with Danvers and Navorro investigating the case together and throughout the course of the series we learn about these characters histories and relationships. Instead, what we're getting is a show the mainly focuses on the characters relationships with the core mystery in the background. A lot of shows and movies take the characters over story approach and still be interesting, but it requires the characters being much more interesting than the mystery itself. A great example being Twin Peaks where the intention was to explore the town with the Laura Plamer mystery simply being there to drive the story and explore the characters. While the mystery of who killed Laura Palmer is interesting the show never feels like it's wasting the audiences time by focusing on the varying subplots because they're used to drive the story. But in Night Country I feel like whenever to cut to a certain character outside of the investigation I can't help but lose and interest.
