petition for react ''Taylor Swift NOW Listening Session with Taylor Grammy Museum'' on yt

For me, your on your own kid is older Taylor talking to younger Taylor and just telling her “hey you may have all these people and you may have this support system but at the end of the day, it’s just you” and that can be applied to so many different aspects of life. You can do everything in your power to be the good in life but in the end, you’re alone. It’s just you. Which sounds sad but it’s also kind of therapeutic. You learn that you don’t need the acceptance and approval of others. You’re on your own kid. And whether you realized it or not, you always have been. You’ve been doing it all this time, why stop? What’s the difference?

Saw the notification email and immediately stopped what I was doing to come here

I’ve had a really rough weekend and I really needed this! I hope you enjoyed NYC!

I loved your reaction so much! It never fails to amaze me how good you understand and grasp the lyrics and core thematics of the songs on first Listen, like i needed 3 or more listens for some of them😅 Also it’s so funny to me how Mastermind is like: „invisible String? Never heard of her!“

Monica Torres

In you’re on your own kid, I think the first verse is about drew from teardrops on my guitar. She references getting over the boy and moving on to focusing on her career. The second verse is about climbing her way to make it into the industry, and the third verse/bridge is about having to take the bad with the good but in the end embracing the fact that you yourself climbed the ladder and it’s okay to do it by yourself. I think vigilante shit is actually about scooter and his ex wife. So is Karma. In mad woman which I think we all recites about him she says “the master of spin has a couple side flings, good wives always know, she should be mad should be scathing like me but no one likes a mad woman.” And In VA she says the ex wife needed proof and Taylor have it to her and now she gets to keep the kids and the house and is finally getting her revenge. And for Karma in mad woman she says “watching you climb, watching you climb over people like me..” and in the beginning of Karma she mentions not being able to look down because e you’d have to save all the people you walked over to get there. Also once you listen to bigger than the whole sky and you understand the true meaning of it labyrinth makes more sense. Most women who have experienced this feel they are connected and are actually about the same situation and the fear of it happening again.

When I first heard the end of Mastermind I was immediately reminded of two things: End Game where she said "you've been calling my bluff on all my usual tricks" and I Did Something Bad where she admits manipulating guys. I feel like he was the first person to see her games and be smart emough to call her on it and that is why that relationship has lasted - because it ISN'T based on her "mastermind"ing her way into it.

A great reaction as always. Thank you.

I am so happy that is all the Lana we got, cannot stand her, she is horrible as a person PR person or not.

Amanda M.

I'm also always impressed by his ability to grasp things so well.. I kind of felt the same about mastermind and invisible string at first, but I decided they're actually complementary to each other.. like Steven says, there can be a thread of fate that ties you to someone and brings them into your orbit, but you still gotta do the work to make it happen. Fate put them in the same place at the same time, but once fate did the work, she knew what she wanted and laid the groundwork to make sure it became a reality.

this album is everything i've needed from taylor! absolutely in love with the whole thing and basically having a taylor autobiography in one album. i've been stuck on labyrinth, midnight rain, question...? the past couple days.

I was waiting for your reaction!! Love that we're getting another tomorrow with the rest of the tracks and the music video for Anti Hero! Also today at midnight she'll release the video for Bejeweled (one of my favorites!), can't wait for your reaction too! I really love this album, and it grows on me with every listen. My favorites from this 13 first songs are: Lavender Haze, Maroon, Anti Hero, , Bejeweled, Karma, Sweet nothing.. But I really love most of them!! Love your reactions so much, thank u Steven! :)

Tiffany

I love that you legit listen to it for the first time with us. Thanks for holding out!

Soren

Really loved your reaction. Also thank you for speaking up about Kanye's antisemitic bullshit

Soren

Same. For people who don't know about the shitty things she's done, I found this article that covers several of the key issues: https://www.vulture.com/article/lana-del-rey-cancelled-timeline.html

Alanna Smith

the way she references karma is the guy on the screen cuz joe is an actor genius

I said the same thing about Vigilante Shit when I first heard it that it gave me major Rep era vibes! I love when Taylor shows that side of herself through a medium we all know and love her for. It's in my top 3 in addition to Anti-Hero and Labyrinth. My top will probably change the more I listen to the album, but those ones were my faves from first listen! Can't wait to hear your thoughts on the 3am tracks and the anti-hero video 🤗

Why don't you spend your time with something you love instead of something you hate? Seems like a waste of time tbh. Lana's music is incredible, if you don't like her, no one forces you to listen to her. However, posting a link with the thought of more people wanting to cancel her then is just shitty.

Thank you for your reaction. I always enjoy your perspective and insights. I love the whole album, but if I only had time for 3 songs...at this moment in time they would be Midnight Rain, Vigilante Sh*t, and Maroon. Going to watch the 3 am tracks now 🙂 One person described it as...Midnights is when you're at the club, but 3 am is when you're in you're feels...or something like that.

leaszn

def love, maroon, midnight rain, and maybe anti-hero
