This is some pretty last-minute art, and I've almost certainly stayed up much later than I probably should've. I guess I just really wanted to draw this.

Colour seems to be an important element of my work, and it usually does the heavy lifting while my lineart tends to... Not. This is probably why my watercolour-like work is appealing. But that only lets me do so much. For instance, I can't easily express darkness or punchy, high-contrast colours. A lot of the visual expression of those works relies on the use of transparency and the "white" of the paper, so it looks airy & light.

So for this piece, I wanted to use a lot of black and focus on bold colour use. Looks cool. I should consider taking this approach a bit more often, since I have a lot more range of colour at my disposal.
