Orc Sketch (Patreon)

Today's plan was to sketch some Allis the Boobarian. One of the earliest ideas written for the character involved some orcs, so that was worth practicing. Next time I draw this, I should actually study some anatomy references.

I wanted to capture something with a strong and masculine physique, with boxy and harsh shapes, while also maintaining some femininity for this Orc. I'm not really sure how ugly I generally want Orcs to be, like, they're by no means the most attractive race in their respective universes, but you've certainly got some uglier than others, like in Lord of the Rings, for instance.

Perhaps I'll want to try getting a bit more monstrous with one of their character traits - maybe hulk out their frame some more, or really dedicate some time to designing the anatomy of their mouth.
