NEWS: Removing Some Content (Patreon)

Talking to support about other creators being suspended on Patreon over Nintendo DMCA claims (example) I decided to remove some posts because I don't want to risk being suspended myself. I think it's the safe thing to do, I don't want my Patreon to be down a second time. ;w;

This means no more Pokeman inspired stuff. But aside from that things will stay the same around here! The gap will be filled with plenty of less proprietary characters!

But I understand how disappointing it is for you guys and it has me down too, so please message me if you'd like a refund for last month. Again, this means I'm removing all posts with Nintendo inspired characters.

The Patreon-only content I remove from my Downloads I will no longer consider paywalled, so feel free to share and you can download them Here!

It's still so bizarre to me that this is going on (Or perhaps it was to be expected after they started messing with YouTubers too). My theory is that Lucario complained because his asshole is so sore after all these years ;3

So will this animation and the Lucario one you were gonna do next not be finished? Or will you eventually finish them but just on the side publically and not paywalled. As far as I know you can continue to work on Nintendo related stuff it just can't be monetized

Oof that sucks. Kinda wanted to pitch an idea to you for a video if you're willing take ideas but it involved pokemon. Can't wait to see what else you come up with.

That's not surprising really, Manyakis and Dives had to do the exact same thing and basically made bootleg characters as a result haha

Zonkpunch, this is my first time replying or even involving myself in anything that has to do with this content. I am just a watcher and that is that. But this issue worries me so much that it has pulled me from this pattern. Just because you cannot pursue the project in its original light in Patreon doesn't mean you cannot still work on it outside of Patreon. How you do this I will leave up to you. I am happy as long as your original vision is recognized. You are an artist, no one and nothing can stand in the way of that, you have proven this before. Do not let these companies get in the way of that. Just remember; no artist became great from following the rules.

I mean heck, I'm sure I'm not the only one but if I saw a Patreon post from you saying "Hey I'm working on something Pokemon related for the next while but it's only going to go up on FA/Inkbunny" I'd still be a patron. Missing out on early art would be -well- worth seeing an artist still draw what they want to without being pushed around by one or two ridiculous DMCA agents in a big company.

Dude your skills are incredible, you can surely produce original characters, that are not pokemon based. So much love for the future. Nothing can be held against ya. Still will miss that Charizard's fat ass thou. ^^'

I wish I was as good at anything as Nintendo's lawyers are at sending DMCAs and Cease & Desists. Sad you have to do this, but it's obviously a smart choice. Does this whole situation mean you'll be more careful about using copyrighted characters in general or is this just concerning Nintendo's properties? Also, can you please add the WIP Feraligatr x Blaziken videos to the MEGA download? Haven't nabbed those yet and would be a shame to lose out on them forever.

Hmmmm. Would a "workaround" to this, be uploading nintendo stuff to discord/putting the download links on discord. And then on patreon just putting a "new updates on discord" post, without any mention of what it is that you're working on, on patreon. Then nintendo would be none the wiser right?
