Is it just me or is the monster’s appearance a little disappointing? Idk when they hyped it up as the personification despair I was expecting the personification of despair not some bone lizard

I’m so satisfied with this episode. Watching your reactions with the awe and jaw dropping is what I’ve been waiting for. We LN readers knew this is coming. That’s why I have been so hyped when I knew this season is coming and also why I have been saying this is THE best arc of Danmachi. I’m still shook how they enacted the exact scene I’ve visualise when reading the LN. I’m hoping this episode blew up the views again. This doesn’t deserves the cold shoulder everyone else has been giving it so far. And now it’s time for everyone to see how Ryuu raises herself to top girl spot in this arc.

In the LN explaination, the reason it was bone is that it shed all the unnecessary weight so that it can move so much faster than everyone.

I kinda understood that from bell’s explanation of it having no armour. I just genuinely mean the design of the monster does not live up to the hype it’s been getting the last couple episodes

Although not mentioned anywhere, but Jaggernaut should be a Level 5 monster. If I remembered correctly somewhere in the LN, it was mentioned that the Floor Boss is always 1 level higher than the usual monsters of that level. The monsters of level 27 where Bell and gangs are at is around level 3, thus the Floor Boss will be a level 4. And Jaggernaut as a Dungeon retaliation monster, is 1 level higher than the Floor Boss so that it can bodied the people who destroys the dungeon of that level. It’s this reason why it can cut off Bell’s arm and slammed him. So in a sense they are lucky that Jaggernaut wasn’t born at a lower level. If it’s a level 6 monster, none of them will survive. I’ll not say anything about why Bell’s head wasn’t cut clean by the sweep, unless after next episode it wasn’t explained then I’ll explain why. But most likely the anime will explain it by next episode.

To be honest, the design of Jaggernaut after reading it’s description in the LN, I visualise it to be smaller. It felt too big for me here. And I don’t visualise it to have the jagged back like an Alien Xenomorph. But the despair the LN describes was not how it looks, rather it’s what it does that causes despair.

I can't believe that they didn't kill Jura. Out of all of the Danmachi characters, he is the most annoying... Um I mean deserving of death.

I could be wrong but I think the only reason Bell kept his head was because of that scarf upping his defense just enough. Also I hate that right after that happened my first thought was oh right the mermaid like I know they have to show her so that it doesn't seem like an asspull that she's there but my shock was so short lived. Still an amazing episode though.

The portion of the episode with the Juggernaut was really intense, but I honestly think the episode would've been a lot better if they just cut Jura's villain monologue in half. So much of it was repeating stuff that we already know and Bell being obnoxiously dense, to the point that when Jura's like "You still don't get it?" or "Isn't that obvious?", I'm siding with him. And even if you're not killing him, why are you not just silencing the guy? It's two Level 4s against a defenseless guy bragging about how he killed her whole Familia and they're just standing there. Really felt like they just had to pad the episode out so that they could get the cliffhanger of Bell dying.

This episode was tough I had no idea the juggernaut was capable of this btw apparently the author of Danmachi and Goblin Slayer are besties so it makes more sense how this episode completely turned

Oh yea. The Brutality was epic and I have ZERO attachment to the characters that got bodied. It got serious when Bell’s time came around. I’m also in a Very good mood. (Still i am). I been alcohol free going on a week now. So I’d expect my emotional responses to be a different as well. Not sure how. But i do realize I’m different and more upbeat since deciding to “quit “. (Really just getting rid of my dependence on that, i got addicted pretty much during lockdown)

You do know that this is a two cour season right? Sometimes series have to draw certain points out in order to do what they need to do with the adaptation. I am amazed people still don't understand this. The next episode is the end of the first cour aka half of the season. The next cour is January so they may be wanting to end the first half off at a certain spot.

literally none of them would have been alive lol. did u even watch the show? Jura didnt do anything actively within that timefame that spawned the monster. It was his subordinates that caused the explosions lol. Granted stopping Lyon from killing Jura was definitely stupid but it didnt cause anyones death. the biggest problem is the fact they somehow didnt disarm him which seems like just a small plot hole

So i think the scarf might have taken a huge portion of the hit from the Tail there and most likely saved Bells life, since they were just gassing up the scarf a bit ago and how it could do " so much more" . I think Adorkable also right about the mermaid getting Bells arm from the water which I also thought and hoped for it immediately as it happened.

To be fair, the whole scene is in the LN as well. The animators didn’t drag the scene out. It’s just not working right when we’re reading the conversation versus watching the conversation. He was giving the same information to the readers in the LN and the anime watchers. So if the scene was cut, people will complain “important information” wasn’t enacted in the anime.

That’s a tough one when you take it serious like that. But it’s a show. We can suspend logic and ideals. You should listen to our post discussion in sandman ep 11. There is respect for a good hero…Allmight. And a good Villain like Dio. Then you get these wishy washy in the middle characters that lack conviction or vision. In the wrelm of villainy. (Despicable me even had a club for villains based on feats) this dude is convicted, thorough, and has an end goal that’s more than just killing Gale. He’s about to accomplish something never before accomplished. Nobody actually likes him or respects him. But in terms of being a goid villain or bad villain. He’s a “good” Villain. He’s very good at being a bad guy and has high level planning. The word respect is technically not a good choice if words. We talk about that I think in the begging of She Hulk over the word Bitchy/Sassy when describing the fashion designer and AdorkableNerd didnt like the word choice. Sometimes you also have to take a moment to see what the taling person means to convey instead of what they actually say. It’s a reaction we say things in the moment that can be refinded later. I personally don’t even have a robust vocabulary. But I’m working on it now

That’s being us immersed. The emotion felt was joy and humor. Anything else would have Been faking the “reaction” to appease people or holding back my feelings (which I’m already doing to a degree). A reaction at its core is supposed to be a view of how the 3 of us would behave if the camera was not on to said media. So it’s really on you whether you like our personalities or not. That being said. I would have laughed harder and wilded out more on our own.

Nope. But i felt that way in Bleach/Bleach Blood War and currently Alice In Borderland. Danmachi just doesn’t hit my horror emotion but that’s not something I control without faking it
