2021-11-15 05:39:04 Marcus put Vu in prison because he had no other choice. It was lick her up, kill her or risk being exposed. He’s not a murderer and he’s too cowardly to go to prison so he only had one real choice. Lock her up and throw away the key.

I think That Marcus Saved Vi b/c the deal went south and felt guilty about what happened , and the only thing he could think of was to put her in the deepest cell(remember he is dirty), but he's just has omega COPIUM over what happened.

Yeah seems that Mages utilize both the mana or w/e AND their own life essence (i.e blood or such bodily functions) as a Catalyst to execute magic. Maybe that's why so few can use it; maybe it's DNA based or something for the most part?

At the start of this episode, Marcus is trying to make up for getting his boss kill and be a better sheriff. He is in self delusion that he has the same relationship with Silco that Vander had with his old boss. His boss was not getting bribes nor was she under Vander's thumb. they had a win-win relationship. This time Silco is pulling Marcus's strings and is paid in blood money.

Also Marcus, still need someone to lock up at the end of Arc 1. Remember Vi was going to turn herself in, Vander stop her and was going to take her place. Silco plans stop that and Silco paid Marcus off at that point with a coins (one of which got stain in his boss blood that you can see him looking at in this episode. However even after Silco plan that slaughtered is boss, the Council still need that pound of flesh for VI's crew's botched robbery and explosion...So Marcus collected of VI's original offer at the end of episode 3.
