With the sister you gotta remember that the one left behind was forced by the family to do the work. So her choices was something like either be with her family but be forced to work and train, or go live alone. I dont know their age, but im thinking they are still teenagers :( I felt bad for Mai after this episode. Not that Maki did anything wrong, it is definitely on the family

In one episode of Jujutsu Kaisen I care more about Mai's and Maki's backstory and goals than anything Sakura's done in the entire Naruto series. Kishimoto really didn't care about the female characters in Naruto, even Tsunade was lackluster to me considering that she was from the Senju clan. I felt for Mai on this episode being forced to be a jujutsu sorcerer just to make her compete with Maki. Is like being drafted into the military when all you want to do is just live a peaceful life.
