You mentioned the fact that the otherworlders are really cocky despite not having the barrier weakening the monsters, but the thing is that Clayman had Mjurran act alone to cast the inner anti-magic barrier at the same time as the Falmuth army cast the outer prison barrier. I don't think any of the Falmuth army, including the three otherworlders, knew about the anti-magic barrier. They just thought their opponents were weak. Which makes their ultimate fate even funnier because they bragged about their power without knowing they had a huge handicap, and then when the handicap was taken away they got curbstomped.
