Important Show Feedback

In a prior post i asked about Rezero and why people enjoyed THAT episode so much more than previous episodes.

I too enjoyed it. The data I am looking for is my talking points and commentary, (NOT MY ACTUAL REACTION)

The parts of an episode I choose to break down is not the same as how I react. Also I can save the parts I care about the most towards the end of the video if people don’t care about it or make an entirely different discussion video which I sometimes do when I have time

If i know viewers of a series dont care about villains, I won’t talk about villains as soon as the video ends I’ll talk about the character development and save my controversial takes for the very end of the video after I’ve already given the people what they wanted first.

If its a show Adorkable LOVES ill make sure to ask her questions first so those guys get to hear the female perspective.

If the audience cares about geopolitics and war I’ll share more of that.

I’m talking to a female audience , i know to include character analysis on the handsome guys 🥰🥰

Of my own accord. I have no interest in talking about hot men, but my audience might.

So I highlighted Sunjae from lovely runner and the charm of Park Seo-joon.

That being said the commentary is still authentic because I don’t hype up the appearance of every male MC in a K drama if I think he’s mid Lol

But I just won’t mention it if there’s nothing I can say Lol

But I might say he’s a good dude or he’s loyal or or mad intelligent. Something like that.

If I know in a country hitting your child excessively as a way of a mother showing love I may not comment about that knowing the audience adores it

You’ll still visibly see me frustrated and I’ll say something “wow, I’m gonna stay quiet on that one”

That means I do not find it appropriate but I’m not gonna say anything.

Still genuine frustration but I don’t have to talk about everything that’s in my head.

And usually if I have something important to say I don’t have time for this video I just make a separate discussion video or I write it in the caption

In Look back movie , i had a VERY controversial take, I implied the girl was right by telling her to not go to college due to the consequence but the average viewer wont listen to the end. Only people who do are hardcore fans, and when they disagree they do so politely and we continue.

Anyways. Much love

I love villians

That's very interesting. You clearly think about this a lot lol but honestly I think the most genuine commentary is always the best commentary. It's not really about what you say, it's about how you say it. People can disagree, but being able to convey your opinion in a way that makes sense even to people that think differently is honestly an acquired skill. I think I've been watching your videos long enough to know when you are joking around about certain comments, but maybe the issue arises when a new viewer takes you too seriously. Like no I dont actually think you want everyone to die and burn in Rezero so that the villains prevail, but you find their characters fun to watch since they are less predictable than the good characters (besides, good villains are supposed to win sometimes in order to really feel like a threat, it makes it even more satisfying when the hero wins later). Then there will always be bums who take tv shows a bit too seriously but those are best ignored lmao P.S: actually I love when you guys watch shows with toxic characters because I know you have more fun watching them and that makes the reactions even more fun. Like, you guys would have so much fun with shows like Succession and Penthouse because everyone sucks and yet it's so entertaining lol

The commentary for me is one of most enjoyable aspect of your reactions. To me it doesn't matter much even if it is controversial, cuz I enjoy seeing different opinions and perspectives about villain characters, so I don't mind that at all. Anyways it is also Important for you to say your part as would have wanted to in the first place. So keep doing what you have been doing so far.

Yess, I wanna see their reaction to Penthouse especially. They could watch each season separately, adding another kdrama between them or after some time passes. I understand the difficulties with 3 seasons, but still 👉🏻👈🏻 It’s the show where trio will enjoy so much There’re a lot of Sumins and Minhwans lol, which is fun to watch (marry my husband) I’d say much worse. Maybe, only 1 season, and after if you don’t like it you can drop that

Generally don't get a peek "behind the curtain" in what goes into your process. As someone who worked in ADR, there's a misconception that y'all just turn on the camera and go. Not that there's anything wrong with that, it's just for all the videos you've done, you always stay interesting and entertaining. I think you mentioned something similar before when it comes to your dynamics between your wife, Director and Adorkable. Everyone is always here for the "reaction" in of itself but the commentary, breakdown, talking points, ect... that's the skeleton holding it all together. All in all, this is what makes people stick around. Even check out shows that wouldn't otherwise, just because you guys are. This is the responsibility that I remember you mentioning WAY BACK in a reaction I had re-watched (Combatants) you consider your audience, your teammates, the amount of shows and your own personal well-being (never forget that).

What i like in shows and what i like in your commentary are different things. The reason i watch reactions is to see different reactions and perspectives to mine. If you %100 reacted to shows the same way i do, if you talked about all the things i talked about i would unsub and watch someone else. So altough i believe what you are doing with gathering data and not trying to upset people too much has merit, i think going out of your way and self censoring too much is also very very bad for a reaction channel. I want you to have controversial takes IF THEY MAKE SENSE TO YOU. That is half the fun for me.

You definitely seem to have the right approach to it. Every series has nuances in what their audience focuses on or looks forward to, be it the villains, the MC, the toxicity or drama... Usually it takes a few EPs to establish audience reception and what the focus should be, and you seem to monitor enough platforms to gauge this quite well. Post discussions are much better, gone are the 90min yapper vids of old lol. Key things you do well is to yes; reflect on the hype/sakuga moments that deserve the praise the audience looks to reaffirm in you... As well as breakdown the key plot points/scenes for theory crafting. You seem to have refined this, where you theory craft vaguely enough to keep it interesting and fresh (as in yes these guys pay attention to the plot well and respect the media I simp for....) without over hypothesizing too polarizingly off the rails that it attracts to much hate and 'correction' essay comments. I would appreciate a final 5min unfiltered unhinged raw reaction though at the very very end, as I do seek that personally (and I assume 90% of people have tuned out by that point). As someone who works in the JAV industry, we have many similarities. Deciding what to focus on or hold in is a fluid process in nature. It's why sometimes we focus on the ugly bastard's gooch and other times we zoom in purely on the FMC's climactic face... different scenes have different things people want.. sometimes seeking something truly raw and disinhibited Keep up the good work king

I watch your reactions for two things: 1) The big "oh shit" emotional or badass moment reactions. 2) The controversial talk that ends up bringing up politics and shit. If number 2 has to be hidden in the deep deep end in order to keep this stuff pallatable and the channel profitable... I can live with it.

Appreciate the feedback. Generally people that like it. Just watch and go in peace. I am stuck reading the folks who dont like it as they are the loudest. Thats what makes it hard. Hypothetically. If folks also said. “Dope controversial take. Keep it up lol”. Then i feel a bit supported mentally. Otherwise i just gotta ignore it. All it takes is a bad day and empty stomach lol and i FLIP haha. But i appreciate your feedback. Your not getting any changes from you currently see. I generally have that balance

I watch them cause I’m lonely. Nobody in my age group that watches anime. And I live in a lesser populated place in Northern Canada. I have to even force my partner. So this fills the gap for me. I don’t care what you do and say. It fills a void.
