I'll drop a tl;dr at the end if you want to save time. I heard Domestic GF was some kinda cringe weeb fetish dumpster fire; I checked it out for myself and I saw a human story about people in an impossible situation where SOMEONE was going to get hurt no matter what. I'd (usually) rather watch a show that has more discussion points under the surface, so there's that. I haven't seen Vanitas yet, but I did some research on it. Vanitas looks like my kinda show for lots of reasons, mostly due to interesting worldbuilding. Domestic GF seems like NOT my kinda show on paper because it sounds awful, and yet I gave it a chance and I thought it was actually a really good piece of literature at the end of the day. tl;dr Soooo... I haven't seen Vanitas but it looks like my preferred choice on the surface, I HAVE seen DomeKano and it had more under the surface than I expected. I'd probably enjoy Vanitas more, but I would probably have deeper emotional moments with DomeKano.
