Just a recap (no spoilers) - at the very end of season 1, Gojo suspected that someone from the school was leaking information to the other side (aka the villains/curse users and cursed spirits) and he asked Utahime to investigate the Kyoto school since she's a teacher there. They spoke about in code as a "drinking party" over the phone, after which Gojo wired Mei Mei money so she would recommend the Tokyo 1st and 2nd year students to get promoted. The scene with the Tokyo principal Gakuganji also happened at the very end of season 1. Geto also talked about his plans for Shibuya in season 1, which Mechamaru knew about, which is the info he wants to pass to Gojo/any of the sorcerers.

Also, the very last scene of season 1 was the trio being out and Gojo calling Megumi that they have a new top secret mission. That mission was capturing Mechamaru for questioning.

Mahito ability touches the soul, wounds hit by his ability cannot be heal unless you can heal the soul, Rct which is what shoko and some other sorcerers uses heals physical wounds not the soul itself hence why she couldn’t heal him the soul and body are two different things

BTW the part with the girl that has a crush on Yuji is chapter 63 and this chapter actually comes before Gojo's backstory arc I'm guessing they decided to adapt it after hidden inventory so that S2 wouldn't have a weird transitions into Gojo's backstory arc but CH 63 is weird as a whole like till this day we don't know whether this chapter was simply to give more information on Yuji as a person or if this chapter was setup for something in the future with Gege you never really know what will happen so who knows.

Explanation for Ultra Canon: Mechamaru, was given a heavenly restriction at birth which is basically a deal between an individual and the JJK universe. In exchange for vast amounts of cursed energy that was spread across Japan, Mechamaru had to live with a body that was sensitive to moonlight and broken. (this is why he can use his robots wherever in Japan and it is also why the school couldn’t fix him. Only a unlike ability like Mahito’s could have worked). However, in the 17 years he has been alive, he has been amassing his spared cursed energy (it was so vast he was able to store a lot of it). That’s why we see the clock with the 17years, 5 months and 6 days. So when he uses a “Ultra Canon: 1 Year Charge”, he is using an entire years worth of cursed energy that he has stored. And as stated before, because he has a shit load, his attacks are insanely powerful. Just wanted to point that out because I saw some anime only’s thinking he was sacrificing years of his life in exchange for powerful attacks.
