TrinitytheApostle

Ik but still didn't expect them to post an extra one this week, especially since it wasn't on the schedule. So naturally I'm a bit happy ig

DanteHiroshima

Is Tsukimonogatari getting uploaded today also ?

Hasnain Khan

Yehhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

Aery

Thanks for the extra upload guys!

Mauze

In Korea the age is +1 since they say you're one year old when born and your korean age birthday is january 1st. The legal drinking age is 20 so Yiseo at the start was 19 Korean age and after the new year grew up a year to be able to drink. In the end the time that has passed is just the suspension of 2 months which conveniently is into the new year meaning Yiseo is old enough to work for Saeroyi

rickie woodson

love square? i can only think of one couple so interested to see who the other two that will be coming for either of our main ship. lets go!

Shib

The Jang family tormented Saeroyi's life, so he took both the son's love interests lmao

Kaulos

I don't care what anyone says people can get mad and scream and retaliate but there's nothing worse than when somebody hits you with the "I'm disappointed in you" shit really makes you feel like the worst person in the world

rickie woodson

so a little about korean names: like in english we have first second and thirds so the father can carry on his name via his children? in korean its the same. first names are usually two syllables and the father would past on his syllables (usually the first). so if you look at the paternal side of a family tree you would see geun woo, geun min, geun soo, etc etc. its all for the patriarchy

envy

DanBam means “Sweet Night” btw.

rickie woodson

legal drinking age is 20 in korea. she was underage so 19 since she just turned 20. they do ages different in asia. pretty much once the baby comes out they are one as they count from conception not birth. a month or two after the baby is born they have the first year birthday. so in america she would be considered 18 based on how age is counted here. also, everyone turns 20 the year they turn 20 no matter when their birthday is. its like a national birthday thing cause they love alcohol! i think there is more to it, like they vote and other national responsibilities but yeah 20 is to korea what 21 is to america: you a real adult now! so since its jan 1st, even though her birthday is in may, she is 20 so she can go to clubs and drink drink drink

Sally

HAHAHA I'm still watching but Roshi's face at 31:24 after Soo-ah said 'But I'd cheer for you' is killing me LOL. I've never seen a facial expression better epitomize gross

earthphoenix7068

It's 19 but Korean age starts at 1, so she is really 19 years old (when she turned 20 in Korean age).

rickie woodson

girl do him for me at least lol let me live vicariously through you. homie is TOO fine. saeyori isnt going any where and yall arent even a thing......

Dyastro

If you want to see more funny and vastly different expressions from the main character, you guys should watch "fight my way" or "secretary kim" ESPECIALLY "FIGHT MY WAY"

Nomin-Erdene Dashdelger

I remember Roshi talking about searching about Itaewon. I live in Seoul and Itaewon was one of my favourite spots to hang out and go clubbing. It was very foreigner friendly and just the vibe of that place was wild. Just like the movie showed in ep2 the halloween spirit was just like that until 29th of October 2022. There was a huge stampede “accident” and about 160 people passed away and hundreds of injured. I was also there at Itaewon the night accident happened and it was so packed. It was horrifying. As I know, this case is still being investigated and now all the clubs and other businesses there are no longer open and it just turned into a very different place.

rickie woodson

i see the four people but its not a square cause no one likes little bro lol. the two girls like saeyori and we will see if soo ah can get him to fall for her, then we will have a full on triangle with geun won just sitting on the side trying to fit in. one is the lonliest number.....

Laylay

so I believe this is changing this year, but in Korea when you're born you're considered 1 year old. However, they do not turn a year older on their birthday. They turn a year older on New years. So for example, if I was born on October 1, 2000. I would be considered 1 year old. Also, everyone born in the same year would be 1 year old. Then, on January 1, 2001, everyone who was born in the year 2000 will now be considered 2 years old. I hope that helps. So it's not that 2 or 3 years passed by, only around 2 or 3 months passed which is why its news years and she is now able to legally drink. She was 19 before and then turned 20

Sally

Danbam means sweet night or honey night. So Saeroyi named it that because he wants his nights that have been bitter since his dad died and the injustice surrounding it to be sweet 🥲

Lola

Everyone already explained the age thing so I'm going to explain the university part instead. High schoolers in South Korea do tests/exams to go to university and they take them around November-December ish if I remember correctly. So, when she said she was accepted in university she was talking that she did good on her test and got accepted, but she hasn't finished high school yet because their school year is May to March and not September to June like in the West. So the time skip was literally just two months lol

shadowfiend

does anyone know the song that comes on at the end of the episode?

Sally

Thank you so much for this additional reaction today and reading our comments!! I always feel a swell of gratitude and appreciation when I realize how thoughtfully you read and remember everything we say. I really loved this episode because Yi-seo is now fully integrated into the story and I can’t wait for you guys to see more of her! So many of her lines were poignant to me in this episode. The coin flipping scene was a beautiful metaphor for life and how luck and coincidence are just decisions we make. What you want the outcome to be is already your answer. I loved her confidence that she could achieve both the love AND success her mom couldn’t. She doesn’t have to compromise. The sheer delight you guys had when Saeroyi threw that guy in the bathroom had me rolling too 😂😂😂

Sally

Also all signs in Korean subway stations are indeed in Korean and English! Stop announcements and and other alerts are further announced in Korean, English, Chinese and Japanese. It’s very similar to Japan’s complex transit system down to the many subway lines, automated glass panels separating the platforms from the tracks, overhead storage room on trains for your baggage, underground malls/stores/restaurants, precise arrival times for trains, cleanliness, spacious washrooms everywhere, multiple maze-like exits and etc. Of all the places I’ve travelled, Japan and Korea definitely have the best and most technologically advanced transit systems I’ve seen

Irieezy.

In Korea, High schoolers go to school until Korean age 20, which is 18 regular age. So she's 20 rn, she can drink and should be going to college. Homegirl swerved back to danbam tho haha. And danbam means sweet night, not sure why the subs said "tipsy night" lol.

Sally

Yeah the Halloween stampede tragedy was extremely sad. I was shocked hearing about it on the news. When I was in Itaewon last summer it was still lit and bustling. There were so many late night bars, clubs and restaurants with cuisines from all over the world there, a foodie paradise. I can’t imagine how different it is there now

2023-04-07 07:47:36 the time skip is actually for a couple of months maximum because she was senior high schooler and just got accepted the universities she appiled for.

If you’re wondering about the age thing. Koreans are born 1 years old, we do not have a 1st birthday party like in the US. Which is why they were 19(in korea) and still in high school. This would be the equivalent to an 18 year old in high school for Americans. Korean drinking age is also different than most, it is 20(K). That is why they were in HS at 19 and then just shortly after were legal able to drink at 20. Hope this clears up the confusion! (Also would like to recommend “Kingdom” for a trio watch, Lupa and y’all would love it! Much love as a Korean fan who resides in FL!)

yoongi

ik u can drink if ur 19 in south korea but still a pretty big age gap between yiseo and saeroyi. there's also the international age and korean age they have on new years day and stuff that can be confusing but their not doing it anymore now. yeah there's a lot of time skips in this show.

Barbara Mcfadden

This love triangle still makes me mad til this day lol I know this is a petty reason but it’s why I dropped the show 🤭However, I’m willing to finish it with you guys.

Thilde

They don't "do ages different in asia". South Korea is quite literally the only place in the world they do the age system like that.

john

This revenge show has no revenge whatsoever…like they just skip past most of the stuff…and characters are pretty shallow.

Ben2730

im surprised to see people are bothered about the romance in a show called Warrior.

2023-04-07 17:05:23 It’s not (that much) of a timeskip, it’s just during the two month suspension. Aging customs in a few Asian countries work different (casually — I think Korea’s the only one that still applies it legally), where in the eyes of the law / society everyone gets a year older at the top of the year even if your actual birthday isn’t on January 1st. You’re also born a year old. So your international age and Korean age can be anywhere from 1–2 years apart, depending on when your birthday falls on the calendar. The drinking age in Korea is 20, so Yi-Seo’s about 19 internationally until her actual birthday hits.

The Yi-Seo/Soo-ah beef is one of the most entertaining parts of this show for me but no shade to my girl Nara the fact that you’re even beefing with a girl a full decade younger than you is lame as hell (for you) 😭

Officially. Historically it was more and informally, it still happens in China and…Singapore I think? I don’t actually remember if my grandma did it for me so I’m not gonna count Vietnam.

Bria A.

The subs flip-flop between Tipsy Night and Honey Night and I don’t know why (but to be fair I do think they actually use “Honey Night” in universe for promotions) — for a lot of foreign shows I just wish subs would take the audience as smart enough to handle the direct translation instead of trying to adapt and make it all aesthetic lmao.

Random Guy

it takes a couple more episodes before we start doing any real revenge.. its actually one of the peeves i have witht his show pacing is so slow

Pucci

ok mr bret mIleSkI. not everyone has a pea sized brain to understand the story like you do.

Mari

This show is a really good Kdrama, you just have to give it time, if you’re expecting every Kdrama to be all about revenge like the glory, that’s not happening

Jah

you're wrong. the first 4 episodes are just build-up for what's going to happen be patient

You guys should start watching Taxi Driver I feel like you guys would like it :)

Kayla LaRae

South Korea will be changing this in May and go to the aging system we are used to with your age changing on your birthday instead of the first day of the year, and getting rid of the born 1 year old system.

Bria A.

I’ve heard! Wasn’t sure if they were committed to the proposal, though. Always found it funny that kids born in December were considered two years old less than a month after they were born. 😂

Jules

love pentagon actually lol

Rach

Korean ages are hard to explain. They count the time in the womb as a year so at birth you are already pretty well a year old, they round it up basically. Korean drinking age is 20, Yi-seo was 19 at the time of the pub suspension. Which is also why you were confused about her being in school at 19 because technically by our aging system she's 18, therefore in grade 12. There was only a small time skip between then and her being able to drink because in Korea you automatically age up as of January 1st. They still celebrate actual birthdays but more so just as a formality almost. I know you're long since past this but I figured it was worth explaining. Though they're in talks of abolishing the 'womb year' as of June this year, so they will no longer be 1 at birth. Koreans ages will all be going down by 1 for the rest of the year. So if they consider themselves 26 now, as of June 2023 they will be 25, and then January 1st 2024 they'll turn 26 again and will continue to age up like we do internationally.

Drake Rage

Y'all thought adults and drinking age etc was the same in a whole other country? lmao. Yeah I have no idea how that wasn't a betrayal... he worked so hard to get his business started up, and he was not even getting customers and she decided to call in the cops to shut it down and force it into bankruptcy (since she knows the rent is so high since the location is in an expensive area). Saeroyi saying "she must have had her reasons" makes zero sense, now I am disappointed in him, lmao. Saeroyi: "Feelings isn't a give and take deal" Bro... even if we ignore the love angle, you both at least consider each other as friends right, so she lacks basic human decency if she is the kind of friend that shuts down your business when she is already rich and powerful as an executive of a mega-corporation... That is a huge ass betrayal, especially since she knows how your life got destroyed and you worked so hard to build it back up just for her to try to destroy it again.
