I see a lot of commenters still haven't figured out the difference between the art style and animation. This whole episode was a showcase of top tier animation. The art is what Mob Psycho has always looked like.

Explained perfectly, the animation was top tier and so fluid and the camera direction was on point. The only thing 'different' was the art style. People gotta stop confusing change in art style with bad animation.

Classic blunder of trying to refute someone without evidence. This episode was solo storyboarded, directed, and animated by Hakuyu Go, the same person who worked on MP100 season 2 episode 5. Please do research before trying to argue and making a fool of yourself. :)

He was the director, did the storyboard and was the animation director yes but he didnt "animate this EP by himself".

This chapter in the manga was heartfelt but bizarre. XD And the animation on this episode was EPIC. Every movement was so well done, it was like watching a completely different series with how much care and motions was in each frame.

The credits include all the people involved but that doesn’t mean he didn’t animate it by himself. Hakuyu Go literally stated in his twitter account how it was his dream to do this episode and that he asked to do it by himself.

Obviously there are editors who fix minor issues before the product is finished. Those people will be mentioned in the cast. Again that doesn’t mean he didn’t animate it by himself. You can draw 100% of the frames and those frames get tweaked by KAs you still literally animted the entire thing.

Please don’t dismiss the efforts from animators like Weilin Zhang, Ajin, Yuki Hayashi, Julian Bentley, Kai Ikarashi, Yen BM, Toshiyuki Sato, Vincent Chansard, Ken Yamamoto, and the list goes one. They helped make the episode as well animated as it was. Please do research before trying to argue and making a fool of yourself. :)

One Google search proves I’m right. No longer replying to anyone because I’m just talking to brick walls at this point. Turning off notifs bc I’m just done with y’all. I’m going to say this one last time cuz y’all can’t seem to get this: this episode was solo animated by Hakuyu Go. This doesn’t mean he didn’t have a team of editors and KAs that helped finalize the product and fix minor issues. Got it yet? Probably not but I don’t care. Holy shit I've never seen someone double down on being wrong and then even go further. "team of editors" is all you need to see to gauge how little you know about the animation industry.
