I disagree with the haikyuu comp tbh, Isagi is basically the complete opposite of Hinata. Hinata was super athletically gifted but had zero game sense, Isagi is ALL game sense and average athleticism which is why he wants to work on his physique.

@hymiie Ashito is the perfect comparison cause not only do they pretty much have the same weapon but they're not physically blessed as well. The only thing about Ashito is he has less game sense than Isagi.

Sports injuries are hard to deal with not because of how much it affects your body but rather how much it affects your mind cause your brain can prevent you from doing a simple play that you're used to doing after an injury. Even if you want to try it you're always gonna have it in the back of your mind that you can possibly injure yourself again from doing too much.

I haven’t read the manga but it’s extremely clear to me he will be the best player on that team and he will be the central focus in their matches against the other teams. He is 100% the best player, no one else is capable of doing the things he was shown to do in this episode lol. Like that’s the whole point?

I think of Isagi more as the leader of the group than the best player of the group. He's able to use the players around him to create an ideal situation to score. Just like with the team they beat he's like the guy with the bangs, he's not the best player but he's the focal point of their plays. I agree that Isagi has potential to be the best but right now he's not.
