Rhaenys has really grown on me. She's intelligent, calm, do not cling to the past, and act with purpose. The way she warmly greeted Viserys made me smile. Damn even Corlys who I've disliked for the past few episodes did a complete 180. His charisma was undeniable this episode. He set aside personal feelings and decided to compromise on his family name and he was a mood during the entire banquet. The way he was eating and giving characters that "oh shit what's going on" look while eating was hilarious and relatable. I clearly saw my uncle in him.

Joffrey Lonmouth was not a lord, just a knight. Criston Cole is part of the Kingsguard, who are given VERY far-reaching authority. Given what happened and the absolute chaos of the situation, it'd probably be very easy to claim he was just doing it to defend princess Rhaenyra. Especially considering that Laenor's sexual orientation seems to be a bit of an open secret, and with Alicent maybe stepping in as queen and vouching for him. "Oh yeah, Joffrey totally started that shit by threatening the princess out of jealousy."

Joffrey was a knight, not a lord. Places him way above the smallfolk on the scale, but still far below lords (and unlike lordships, it's not a hereditary rank/title). Criston is part of the Kingsguard, which has a lot of authority, and there was absolute chaos in the situation. Given that the closeness between Laenor and Joffrey is fairly clear to everyone, it'd be easy to claim that Joffrey threatened the princess out of jealousy or something like that, especially if Alicent steps in as the queen to vouch for Criston.

Remember the scene where Rhaenyra is by the tree listening to the musician. Then Alicent overrides Rhaenyra's command for the musician to stay. That scene shows that the Queen has altleast more authority and pull than the next Targaryen heir to the throne.

After Alicent's conversation with Ser Criston her reaction definitely wasn't "oh hey she was telling the truth about Daemon, but she didn't tell me she had sex with Ser Criston". Alicent thinks she slept with both of them for sure.

Even if he wasn't a lord He was still a knight of the 2nd most powerful(arguably the 1st) in Westeros. Actually I think Criston did love her and he THOUGHT she loved him. I agree she just wanted to have fun. She was young and mostly restricted as a young girl. It wasn’t her fault the older man not only ignored his vow but then caught feelings. He never mentioned to her that anything was wrong and he didn’t really know her if he thought she was going to give up the throne for a life on the run. I’m pretty positive that the reason she didn’t/couldn’t pick a suitor was Daemon. Ser Criston didn’t stand a chance even if he hadn’t been King’s Guard.

I can’t figure out why everyone says Daemon did something to make her fall. He literally did nothing until she fell. She panicked, reached for her bow then her horse got spooked and threw her. If she hadn’t made that last smartassed jab he would’ve left her there to live or die. Do y’all watch the videos at the end of the episode where the cast and crew give insight into the episode?

Ummm, nope. Daemon clearly meant for her to die. If anything, she goaded him into killing her rather than letting her starve to death. Even the after-episode feature clarified that Daemon, did in fact go there with the intent to kill her.

I watched the feature so I know they changed it so that he was there when he wasn’t in the book. I also think he would have been fine with her being paralyzed. If she couldn’t perform marital duties he could have the marriage terminated.

I think Daemon did do a little something. He likely recently came off his dragon which he knew the scent would spook the horse, they kind of set that up in episode one I think when a couple people comment how much Rhaenyra stinks when she gets back off hers.
