The girl at the end is named Vueko, she's the Sage from Episode 1 who was staring at the Star Compass and was abused. I'm honestly hoping she and another character get an anime original scene or two to make their impact even bigger. Also! Some people were asking/talking about this. Marulk is a boy confirmed by Author. But Marulk is a child from a foreign country across the ocean called "Children of Shadows" they are basically powerless vampires (for now who knows if they will somehow get powers or something later in the manga or if it was just cool worldbuilding) so Marulk has to wear clothes that cover most of his body anyways. Ozen just decided "Eh what the hell if he has to cover his body I'll just make him wear girl's/ maid's clothes it's easier than buying fancy boy's clothes that cover his whole body." That's actually why Marulk got so embarrassed along with Reg when Riko walked out naked and both guys covered their faces super fast.

@Roshi So, you have to go WAY back to the first episode of S1. She named him Reg after the dog her mom gave her. The mom had named the dog Reg, after Reg from when she met him in the abyss.

To others who might have also gotten confused. Rewatch episode 1 of S2. That giant "snake" is Belaf, the Belaf from episode 1 who consoled Vueko and said she wasn't ugly and translated the native's language. Same with Wazukyan who became that red and white spiral thing we just saw in the restaurant. As for why or how, that will be in due time. :)

Yeah the blobtrash are basically this layer's druggies, they are too broke to have anything of value, and Balancing doesn't permanently kill you (Maaa got bankrupted, yet it's still very much alive, even after being torn as collateral due to insufficient funds), so they just don't give a fuck. Based on the ugly bastard blue blob, his Value might be from molesting lil kids or something, he certainly acts like that. There's a reason they live in that tinyass alley, cuz they filthyass druggies essentially. Wow that was great, the Red-Haired girl is controlling the black goo that does Balancing so people don't harm things of value of others. Also we know Bondrewd aka Mr. Plotting Hands White Whistle is alive because they saw him in the Movie and Nanachi said it was Riko's decision to just move forward with their journey rather than try to "settle things" with him.

But she didn't meet/know Reg when he was stalking him on the 7th layer, so she must have met him, named him after the dog she left on the surface before sending him up to retrieve Riko (I'm anime only, so I don't know if Lyza really sent him up with the pickaxe and why he made her grave if she's still alive)

I think Riko just lacks some common sense. After everything they been through, she should know better. Some kids are stupid, but there are also plenty of kids who would've at least walked away. Every other child probably has a better sense of danger than her specifically.
