Another thing about it being called New Blood: So its one way of saying like, "Hey, this is going to be a whole new Dexter, whole new setting, whole new set of problems and characters", plus a play on dexter being basically a blood addict. But also, the phrase "new blood" is generally used when you get some fresh faces into something you already have set up. So it could be a way of eluding that Harrison *is* going to end up sharing Dexter's dark tendencies and is going to end up also killing people. And this might be Dexter's journey to either direct Harrison's demons towards a positive(or at least as positive as it can be) direction like his father did for him, or to help him learn to live without murdering like dexter did for so long. Almost like a "hey, i'm gonna raise you better than my father raised me." I dunno, i could just be completely off the mark, but with the title New Blood and his son literally showing up, i think they might be going for something along those lines.

Also it's TOTALLY Kurt. The whole, "I Facetimed with my son" because he doesn't want them investigating around where he's doing his murders. He doesn't want them to find his bit ol' gallery of taxidermy women that he's got mounted in his special little rich man "The Deadliest Catch" room. He wanted the cops to investigate in case he was just missing, but now that he KNOWS his son is dead, he doesn't want the police investigation to go any further in case it ends up leading to his murder shack.

Did anyone else notice the callback to season 8 when Harrison wants to watch cartoons? Dexter says "come on buddy, time to get ready for school" and Harrison says "five more minutes?" and Dexter says "no more minutes, we don't want to be late for school". That's what the opening reminded me of.

Kurt Caldwell seemed concerned that they were going to search the mine and also the summer camp. Maybe his hiding place for the missing girls is in one of those areas and he was afraid the search for Matt will find him out!
