Going back to Episode 8, Ghislaine states that her teacher is "Sword God" Gal Farion. Which is ranked 6th of the Seven Great Powers AND the highest rank a swordperson can attain. This is information the anime gave out so don't come at me lol.

It's pretty crazy how the writer + studio created new full-on languages and were able to teach the VAs how to speak them properly/coherently. Don't think I've seen other animes go this far with language systems.

ranks go elementary-intermediate-advanced-saint-king-emperor-god When someone reaches saint rank or above in any of the three sword styles (North,Water,Sword) they are are referred to with their style and rank like "Sword King Ghislaine", "North Saint Gallus", or "Water Emperor Lupa". Mages usually present themselves with their best magic and say "Saint class water mage" super confusing title system.

The Sword-God style that Eris learned and Gyes knows is based completely around putting all your speed and strength into 1 attack to finish the fight immediately (remember Ghislaine saving them in the fifth episode with that single attack that broke the sound barrier) so that one slash was all they needed to determine the outcome.

the 3 sword styles are sword god style, north god style and water god style, and the top rank in those 3 are also called either sword god or north god or water god. so that with the 7 great powers are not the fighting styles perse but the strongest person in that sword style practice, they just didnt say the persons name after it

It's really simple, Rudy's arousal comes from seeing the beastwoman plus his natural lewd face, the doggo blush it's him being happy because Rudy plays with him like a normal dog instead of being treated like a sacred beast. It just so happens that the sum of those things creates the huge misunderstanding of thinking that Rudy is horny for the doggo.

Eris' hairstyle is a callback to the "please teach Eris magic, nyaa" scene in season 1, where her father explained she puts her hair up like that to imitate a beastman's ears. I'm amazed the author remembered that.

Im just so glad that in Ep. 13 I said that the beastman reminds me of Ghislaine and it makes me miss her more, and now we find out that he's actually her brother. Also, those foods that they had in that village look like they were slappin'. Made me so hungry.

the power system is as follows (this is all stuff that was explained): - every discipline (magic and sword) can be seperated into 7 levels of power: beginner, intermediate, advanced, saint, king, emperor and god. - Rudeus became a saint level water mage by mastering the saint level spell 'Cumulonimbus' and Roxy became a King level water mage (Paul was super impressed, saying you could count the number of king level mages on your hands). - the three main sword styles are *North god* (a style focused on surviving no matter what, very tricky and annoying to fight), *Sword god* (a style focused on stricking first with fast and strong attacks, a short tempered style of fighting that Eris and Ghislaine use) and *Water God* (a style focused on defense and countering attacks, very strong agasint sword god users that always attack first but weak against north god users who are always unpredictable). - The seventh world power is a North God, while the sixth major power is a Sword God. God level is the stuff of legends and emperor happens almost as rarely, so King is the considered the more 'realistic' highest level (making Ghislaine and Roxy pretty strong).

Once you all finish watching the season, i def recommend going back and rereading over what the season covered. There isn't much taken out story wise at all but it does go deeper into characters and world building. Like explaining how ingenious Gallus' plan was overall, that rudy didn't want to fight Gallus just because he was strong but because north god style is a very dirty/sly style(hidden knife/sword throwing) that was troublesome to deal with, and more into what you need to become higher ranking adventures, etc.

Genuinely can't wait for the next 2 episodes. The author, animators, voice actors and even Studio Bind (the studio who are producing/animating the show) have been hyping up episode 16 and 17 for a while, and for good reason. Rifujin (author of Mushoku Tensei) said that episode 5 and 6 are his favorite episodes this entire cour. He said everything, from the voice acting to the animation to the sound design and camera work was outstanding. As a LN reader, I ain't joking when I say that these 2 episodes alone blow every single episode so far out of the water, like the difference in quality isn't even comparable. Volume 5 and 6 (2nd cour is adapting Volumes 4-6, and this episode just finished adapting volume 4) is when this series went from a 9/10 to a strong 10/10 and became one of my favorite series of all time. Episodes 5-12 is when Mushoku Tensei goes from a great isekai to an amazing one. And the best thing is that it doesn't just peak and then decline in quality after a while, like most other series. It stays consistently amazing throughout. I don't think there was a time while reading the light novel/web novel when I thought that it wasn't as good as the previous volumes. Actually, I thought that it was only getting better and better. The later seasons are gonna be absolutely amazing. I genuinely think that if Studio Bind adapts every volume as good as this 1st season has been so far, Mushoku Tensei will not only be recognized as one of, if not the best isekai, but will go down as a genuine classic. It really could become one of the best anime adaptions ever made, if we really do get a full adaption of the series. (Damn, this turned out longer than it was supposed to be. When it comes to Mushoku Tensei, I always end up gushing about it)

The magic system has similar rankings, like mentioned above. They go from worst to best in the same order: Beginner -> Intermediate -> Advanced -> Saint -> King -> Emperor -> God Now, where the martial arts are divided into three main styles, magic is a bit more complex. It can be broadly split into three subcategories, which are attack magic and two others. I'm not sure how much the two others have been touched on in the anime, but attack magic has been. Attack magic has four categories (water, fire, earth and wind). If you achieve a certain level of proficiency in any of these categories, you earn the right to call yourself by a title based on the highest ranked spell you can cast. So since Roxy can cast a "king" ranked water spell and it is the highest ranked of all her elements, she is considered a Water King class magician. It's a little bit confusing since swordsmen of the Water God style are also called Water Kings, but what can you do. Magicians are usually referred to by their strongest element.
