Awesome reactions! Loved this show, hoping for a season 2! If you guys are ever interested in another great korean drama on netflix I would recommend Kingdom! I've really enjoyed it so far.

if you think back to episode 2. whole thing predicted they deaths. Sangwoo was in a bathtub with coal bricks ready to take himself out, then he killed himself in the end. Saebyeok put the knife to the dudes neck, and she got her neck slit. Doksu jumped off a bridge to escape the gang that was after him, he fell off a bridge in the game. Ali took the bosses money and ran off, so sangwoo took the marbels and Ali got killed. Gihun swore on his mothers life, and his mother died in the end.

Great season and great reactions but I'm not sure they should do a season 2. Part of the charm of the show was the novelty of them playing kids games in life or death situations. Now that we have a general idea of what to expect, it loses some of that shock factor. It could very easily become repetitive like those Saw movies. If they do a season 2, the writing and acting will have to be just as good as the 1st season if not better. Also, I think during the night killings and the marble game is the only time the old man got special treatment. He definitely could have died in Tug-of-War and admitted that he enjoyed playing those games. I don't think he would have participated if he knew they were going to give him special treatment every game.

I hope there will be a season 2. Who knows, it can be a prequel to ss1 when the first Squid game was held or another game but from the POV of one the masked guys (we don't really know much about their story). But I agree that it will be extremely hard to create a ss2 that is just as good as ss1, let alone a better version.

I think it was him saying "VIPs" that threw them off. The last few episodes introduced us to the VIPs of Squid Game so I think they were trying to make a connection. A lot of people don't know that banks treat you special, like a VIP, if you have a lot of money in your account(s) with them.

Dude wasn't built for the games so it traumatized him. Yes its his fault for participating but he mainly survived thanks to luck really. After he got out the realization of what happened coupled with the damage his mom dying did most likely crippled him emotionally. At least until the old man talked with him.

the man just survived a game where hundreds of people died. had to indirectly kill his best friend, return back as the winner only to realize his daughter left for the states and his own mother died while he was in the game. so yeah i think taking a year for the ptsd to wear down seems fair enough.

if you notice for the old man. back when the players were all killing each other the game masters only stopped them once the old man climbed to the top of the beds and was telling them to stop. That's when I got suspicious of him.

tbh all those ppl (the 200 that returned after the first game) r not innocent imo. yes, ppl like sangwoo and those other thugs prob killed ppl but this organization or whatever gave all these ppl a choice to return. the first game i wud say was bs cuz they never clarified they were gonna die if they lose so that would be my only complaint. rip those that died the first game, though i would expect even if they were given the choice, many would return when they realized how much money it is. but yeah sangwoo may have done some shitty things but its nothing anyone else wouldnt have done. theres no way for them to get out of here with both of them winning and going home with nothing. sangwoo would return to a life where he wud be arrested and gi hun would return to see his mother dead and he would be obligated to lose his organs due to the contract he made in episode1. so all in all, while sang woo seems evil, none of his actions has been "Wow that guy is pure evil man. just enjoys killing ppl". you can see each and every kill shakes him up even if its a little bit. when ppl begin to justify their killings, thast when u know it bothers them. real psychopaths have no need to explain their actions bcuz they dont expect others to understand. gihun is simply the naive protagonist trope where he has all the luck and everyone helping him: 1st game he was saved by sangwoo and ali. 2nd game he was saved by his own intelligence. 3rd game sang woo and the old guy. 4th game, the old guy literally let him win. 5th game he was saved by that one guy that decided to go first and sang woo who pushed the last guy. if sang woo didnt push that last guy at that time, gi hun wouldnt have made it since he legit got over at the last second. sangwoo was right in the end. gi hun may have seem innocent and did not dirty his hands but its more due to his own luck and others dirtying their hands for him that he survived til the end (if we arent counting plot armor cuz 1st game he was shaking so hard i find it difficult the robot didnt register it lol)

the director who wrote squid game announced that he did not have a clear path for season 2 and would need help writing it if there even was one. He also announced and said that if he does get to do a second season he would like to take his focus on the frontman and make him the main focus.

did some research and the first netflix original k-drama is busted. its some spy detective shit mixed with a LOT of korean pop culture as all the actors are real life pop stars/actors./comedians playing themselves, well tv versions. sounds like it would be a fun watch

It's just how he is, bro. He couldn't take his wife to the hospital when she's about to give birth as his co-worker died in front of him. He lived like a beggar for the first year after he' out of the game bc the guilt he felt. Now he sees 455 more people are going to die, of course he tries to stop the game. I am not saying this is a smart choice, but it aligns with his personality. He probably can't face his daughter, knowing more people will die and he does nothing. If he goes on that plane, the guilt and regret will follow him for the rest of his life.

Exactly, they could've set these people up with money and/or therapy and tried giving them a second chance, sure most of them were assholes and might've just relapsed but there were many like Ali who were just desperate and down on their luck. But like the old man said, they were truly only doing it for their own enjoyment. I can also buy that life may 'get boring' after being rich for a while, but there's a bit of stuff in between rich people shit not doing it for you anymore and betting on people's lives like horses that you could probably try. Kind of weak reasoning from the writers to try and justify why old dude would set this thing up, but the purpose of the show is to build drama, so you can't look to far into it.

Makes sense since all of the characters that we cared about are gone. I think that's why many are not excited for season 2 or nervous that it's gonna suck, because the season 1 was so good but it provided too much depression and yet the characters we cared about are gone except for Gi-hun which I think is not enough for hype. I also don't care much about the cop, but if they will really focus on the Frontman that would make sense because the actor playing the Frontman is a big actor in Korea and have appeared in some hollywood films

Like for most people I'm sure if you're like "hey I have a way you can make a lot of money fast" they would take you up on it. Yeah he probably should've just paid his stuff, gotten back in the good graces of his daughter and wife and got his life back together but something like that is a hard thing to just let go. No one would just be okay with seeing countless amounts of people murdered and then getting into a 1 on 1 death match with your childhood friend. That type of shit sticks with you for the rest of your life. And then you see someone else in the same situation as you about to go through the same hell you did.
