Tye

getting closer and closer to movie time. the heaven’s feel trilogy is gonna be insane, you guys are gonna love it.

Kenyi

Well gilgamesh is a demigod and I'm not 100% sure but I think ea is a gift from the gods

不死鳥

At one point you boys talked about how he doesn't see himself as human, and you're correct but by the wrong reason of him being an asshole, not that he isn't. Gilgamesh was in fact not human, he was a demigod, I think something like 2/3 god and 1/3 human but I'm not too sure anymore.

Exiova

at around 12 minutes. Let it be known Gilgamesh in legend was a demigod that was only like 1/3 human lol so he is already less human than even Heracles/Hercules

earthphoenix7068

Kings from Gilgamesh's time were considered to have come from deities. Gilgamesh himself in the actual epic is a demigod king.

Devin B

If I was literally 2/3 of a God than I couldn't help but think highly of myself compared to humans.

Zeke

That's it. He's 2/3 god 1/3 human which puts him above other demigods who are only 1/2 god 1/2 human.

ElasticMemories

Gilgamesh got infinitely wealthy by the power of Ea's microtransactions

kurumi Tokisaki

The amount of disgust faces that i saw this episode was hilarious

JsnSkg

Can we just take note that Gilgamesh had a whole PET LION. Only the kingliest animal is worthy of him. Hehe.

JsnSkg

Sasaki Kojiro is a real one. One of my favorite Servants. I do have a weakness for anything samurai or feudal Japan related, but even so, I love all of his interactions in this show, even though he's really just a side character. I also grew up with the story of Miyamoto Musashi. In case you're interested, probably on your own time, I highly recommend you watch the "SAMURAI" trilogy (movies are simply called "Samurai" but they're about the journey of Miyamoto Musashi).

BZD

More like the power of EA micro transactions

Viela Guay

The record of ragnorok manga probably has my favorite Sasaki Kojiro, right up there with Vagabond's

Viela Guay

Ea in Fate is basically Gilg's divine birthright beyond even other divine weapons in its uniqueness. IRL it doesn't exist in legend and is simply a reference to the creation myth

Snake

Gilgamesh is half god half human early life he was a shit bag and only considered himself God but after a long life and losing much he became a slightly better human and accepted that he would die and not lead them forever this version of Gilgamesh is more like his younger self

Reign

gilgamesh is literally half-god tho. He was put on the earth by the gods to rule humanity.

ApplePieOG

Gilgamesh is amazing and ya'll should watch Fate/Grand Order Absolute Demonic Front Babylonia to see him in his prime, in his actual era

beelzebub

Gilgamesh isn't completely human, he is part god. Back then in his time, the world had many gods. They elaborate in this in Fate:Grand. He actually used to have a bearable personality. If you guys can you should watch Fate:Stay Heavens Feel next because I think that's the true timeline post Fate:Zero.

Restmer

yes!! i completely agree!!! it will give you a new perspective on gilgamesh's character!

KevMath

Lupa keeps mentioning destiny so much makes me wanna ask him what his light level is

かもめのたまご

btw Gilgamesh can't use full power Ea in real world because he will get erased by gaia counter force he also can't use gate of babylon at the same time

Skebaba

He's literally 2/3 deity, so it's a given he's rich af boi. Especially since he was literally "created" by the gods themselves to GOVERN HUMANS (they sent Enkidu to bring him to be judged once he started to fail his purpose by fucking it up)

Skebaba

Correct. His mother is a deity, while his dad was merely a demigod

Skebaba

It's IMO the best Fate series, perhaps only Apocrypha coming close to it when you only account for Servant rosters, and ignore everything else

Zeke

He did use both in Fate/Strange Fake tho

Thamor

This episode makes me want them to react to "Records of Ragnarok"

かもめのたまご

Strange Fake is fan fiction and started as April fools project it doesn't follow fate story settings even 27 Dead Apostle Ancestors (hope its right name in English) exists in Strange Fake worldline...

Lyandro

That method man reference that roshi made caught me😂😂

heaps

Dudes, why?! I'm eating Chipotle right now!

AUO

i wish they'd watch that to see a different side of gil, it would be interesting to see their reaction

Rodrigo Lee

Archer can copy magic, sacred and demonic weapons but can't copy divine weapons cuz they're beyond human's comprehesion and Archer can't copy what he can't comprehend

Drake Rage

Why has everyone been saying Gilgamesh is 2/3 God? If one parent was God, and one was 1/2 God, then Gilgamesh would be 3/4 God, not 2/3. So Gilgamesh is 3/4 God, that might be why he is so broken.

Drake Rage

Yes, a 3/4 God so still a Demi-God but a bigger percentage of God than what others stated.

William Yang

Man, why are you just hell-bent on correcting everything and everyone at all times... I've seen you in these comment sections almost every damn video, and you're always cussing someone out for some bullshit, like stop man, you're so annoying...

Kyrose

He is actually described as 2/3 god even in the actual Epic of Gilgamesh. Sadly, we don't have the full text so we don't actually know if it's ever fully explained how this happens in the Epic. There are a few theories as to how this would work. The main ones I found were that his mortal parent (prostitute mother or king father depending on sources) mated with a god while also being possessed by a god, or that his father was formerly human and still retained a majority of his humanity, while his mother was a full goddess. The second doesn't make as much sense in my mind as the first. The Fate lore explanation is actually neither of these theories though and also isn't internally consistent. In Fate, sometimes it's explained that Gil's father is a mortal king and his mother is a goddess, so normally you would be right and his is only 1/2 god, but according to the Fate wiki "He was an ultimate, transcendent being so divine as to be two-thirds god and one-third human, and no others in the world could match him" I personally interpret this to mean he inherited more divinity from his mother than is usual in other such demigods. Other times it's explained that Gil was hand crafted by the gods rather than born through the usual means, so they manually given 2/3 divinity. Of course, it's possible these two explanations are actually the same explanation worded different ways. My own personal theory is that while his father was indeed mortal and his mother was a goddess, the gods added in some extra divinity as Gil played an important role in their schemes at the time, which is a whole other can of worms that I will not be getting into. Regardless, even if we don't have a clear answer, and even if you don't think it makes sense, it is a fact that both in Fate canon and in the irl Epic of Gilgamesh, Gil is 2/3 god. Sorry if this is a bit long, but I wanted to give an actual explanation rather than just say "You're wrong and stupid and should feel stupid." Hope this clears things up.

Drake Rage

Thanks for the detailed explanation. That was very interesting Lore and info about his Divinity.
