Basically he kept getting stimulation as he kept fighting the bear so like Sheera said they developed some kind of link. Fushi couldn't express how the bear was feeling until he got stabbed by that dude and understood what being hurt was.

Fushi had an attachment to the bear and Fushi said thank you after March tried to comfort the bear because it was the bear communicating it with Fushi. It doesn't have anything to do with the bear dying. Pay attention to the more serious moments at least.....

You guys assume too much. The thank you from fushi had nothing to do with the bear dying. You completely disregard the fact that March was basically healing the bear and tending to its wounds. You missed out on the entire point of the scene with March relating herself to the bear and comforting it.

Fushi basicly gets stimulation from emotions,when he was fighting the bear he felt stimulations (shivers) but he didint know what they meant untill he got stabbed in the prison and learned what pain was. It was also demonstrated that fushi will only say certain things based on what happens(he recieves food,he says thank you) so more or less like a dog,so he had no reason to keep saying it hurts unless he was actualy hurting.

actually i realized that fushi was saying it hurts bc it was repeating what the bear was saying psychically and said thank you when the the bear died the bear actually said thank you and kept repeating it hurts so I think its a theory

So for clarity; the reason Fushi kept saying "it hurts" was because he was feeling what the bear was feeling. The bear was in immense pain and Fushi was feeling that pain. Before it dies Fushi says thank you, but it's the bear that's grateful. It was grateful to March for taking care of it and trying to help it.

does every person hear bitching that they didn't understand that fushi was felling the bears pain not stay until the end when they were talking about it and they understood exactly what was happening with fushi and the bear.
