The quickdraw was done so well. Also man, the dried persimmon scene hits real hard. Especially if you've got family members who've got variants of PTSD and other personality changes from serving. Man used to be a carefree lad

So I'm not sure if they'll explain it in the next episode, but that stripping spirit possession thing that was going on was probably just hypothermia. Hypothermia in its final stages has been know to make people think they are really hot causing them to strip.

you need to watch the second OVA, it is about a story between shiraishi and the counterfeiter, it is about the past of shiraishi and his adventures escaping prisons all over japan, it is one of my favorite stories in the entire manga I really hope you watch the OVAs and not skip them

2022-03-13 23:28:32 The ending of this episode was really powerful for me. When I watched it for the first time, I was so moved from that scene. It was very deep topic, to be able to go back to how Sugimoto used to be before the war? But his best friend is gone forever. Asirpa's childlike innocence wondering if Sugimoto's emotional scars will be washed away if he eats dried persimmons again. Very bitter-sweet.

That quickdraw scene reminded me a lot of The table scene in the basement in the Inglorious Basterds

Nah Roshi, this is a one-in-a-million anime where we sexualize everyone EXCEPT the underaged girl character

he wasn't high. I guess the Kamuy Asirpa mentioned is the Ainu interpretation of paradoxical undressing, which happens when you become hypothermic.
