The "that person" thing is nothing but baloney. Subaru trying to be "that person" would work against everything he said because Beatrice would just be following her supposed instruction in Echidna's BS contract. The point is for her to just make her own decision.

Yea naruto and sasuke are way worse than the characters in this series. No cap. It is disrespectful to compare them to this well written series. This series doesn't rely on the talk jutsu bullshit to completely change someone and their mindset all in one go. It takes subaru time and the gathering of information after deaths and multiple occasions before he gets anywhere to change anything to begin with. He isn't naruto where he speaks some good good bullshit and wins over people because cheap conversations about good morals is his ninja way.

Subaru did do the second trial. It was when they showed the other potential realities of his multiple deaths. For everyone else it's a different present but because of Subaru's Return by Death all those possible realities could still potentially exist in different timelines.

Don't forget that Subaru did try the second trial but it showed him all the "After death" scenes and since he had so many "unthinkable presents" the trial was uniquely difficult for him and Echidna had to break him out of it so he didnt go crazy that happened before the tea party i think.

Oh and the comment about roswall being on the verge of death was from when he tried the trials and got all messed up that he was in bed for most of the season, it had nothing to do with ram and their fight

subaru did do the second trial it clapped him extra hard cause he had to see multiple possible presents where he already died. and the first trial was the past with his parents.

I think Echidna was crying because she had to get separate from her family, for 400 years and counting. We don't know what exactly transpired besides what we've seen. We don't know exactly how Echidna dealt with Hector, what choices she had to make, what situations and circumstances forced her into those choices, and how she felt making said choices. IMO, Echidna is a lot more complicated of a character than you make her out to be. But I'm anime only, that's just my own speculation.

So the reason Emilia's trial seemed easier than Subaru is because the unthinkable present in his case could have been all the times he's died, the world could still go on when he dies and to him that's an unthinkable present. But Emilia had mainly one unthinkable present.

"Margrave was near death" was referring to Roswaal after he tried the first trial and had to get all bandaged up, the battle is still going on.

subaru did do the second trial, it was when we saw what happened after each of his deaths. His trial looked different was different because of return by death and we saw all the situations that could've been his present

basically one of the things in puck's contract was she couldn't go near any reflective surfaces because she hated how she looked so much and puck kept her away from them. so when she sees herself reflected in the water its the first time she's actually seen herself for a long time. showing the lengths puck went to keep her safe

For Subaru this 2nd trial was impossible, he didn't have time to even process the unthinkable present after his death before it changed to puck cutting his head off to him jumping off the cliff to his death...

I understand y'all think Subaru is a dumbass, cause he kinda is, but not every decision he makes should be seen as a idiotic one. Y'all need to give him a fairer chance and actually try to understand some of his decisions instead of writing it off as a dumb one all the time. The point is to get Beatrice to stop relying on the book, to stop taken Echidna's words as literal gospel. Echidna literally told Subaru "that person" doesn't exist. If Subaru says "I am that person" all that does is continue to bind Beatrice to a false sense of hope and reality that never existed int he first place. She will continue to live for that book and in turn, live by Echidna's word, because her word would be proven "absolute". Roswaal was the one that told Subaru to say that. Subaru is against Roswaal at this time. All this does is play into Roswaal's hand. The whole point isn't to be THAT person. The point is to free her of the witch's delusion. Accepting the nonexistent role of being "that" person doesn't do that. How can Subaru prove Echidna and Roswaal wrong if he goes the path they've been probing him to take? And he can't just say he's "that" person to get her to leave and then take it back. That's....just stupid. Beatrice yeeted him out but it wasn't a dumb thing to say.

Facts. Like yeah, Subaru has acted somewhat idiotic before but what he said to Beatrice was the best response to her question. He isn't ''that person'' because there never was a person to be begin with. His whole goal is to get Beatrice to think and do whatever she wants freely without being restrained by the shitty contract she has with Echidna. Subaru definitely did do trial 2 and Subaru also remembers everything from the tea parties.

Subaru did the 2nd trial but it was uniquely impossible for him because hes died and lived so many lives the trial giltches out and forces him to live the present of all his deaths, and that was about to kill him and break his mind and soul so Echidna pulled him out and brought him to the tea party where he was able to tell her about return by death.
