Tbh i thought this ball boy arc was pretty boring except the kageyama all japan parts but now that im rewatching this i love it so much.

Yeah what washijo sensi is trying to drill into hinata is that he needs to be able to evolve and improve his weakness he cant stay a guy who only spikes CUZ of kageyma. No other team can use hinata because u need kageyama to unlock hinata whereas kageyam,oikawa and ushijima are far ahead of hinata because they can fit into any team. That's why during the finals ushijima told him that despite all his agility and jumping power how can his technique be so clumsy? Even now when he said "what are u even doing" he's saying that CUZ hinata still hasn't realised what he need to do to improve.

Humbled? Hinata isn't arrogant or cocky. And he's never tried to claim that he's better than he is. If anything, hinata had a lack of confidence. Hinata needed to work on his game, and fix all of his weak areas. But, he wasn't humbled and he didn't need to be.

the point is that hinata didnt take the necessary steps to get on a roster. Notice how most of these teams 1st years don't play and they are balls boys and do basic tasks? the whole point being made is hinata skipped all that and jumped right into a hyper specialized role on his team ( which is why the coach partly admitted its his own fault since they put hinata there for the sake of the team ). The Old coach isn't an ass he's just traditional and hinata was kind of spoiled to be allowed to be where he is without learning the basics first.. He sucks at everything except spiking lol.

I get what you’re trying to say... but most of those 1st years do play a lot. Goshiki, Tsukki, Koganegawa, Kindaich, the other dude on Seijoh, & that 8ft tall guy Hinata helps. They all regularly play on their team, I’m pretty sure they’re all starters
