It's almost obvious that Hirakawa was a human in hindsight, it'd be completely against what we know about parasites to give such an impassioned speech based on ideals where he clearly got angry and reacted to the soldiers' response exactly like a normal person would.

Love the callback to the first line of the show. And also, I find it amusing how right after HIrakawa makes his points about all the "deals" humanity tries to make with other species (in the form of environmental preservation policies) are all so skewed to benefit humans that they're meaningless, they say that the parasytes are the ones who won't come to a deal with humanity despite that deal inevitably being one where humans reap all the benfits.

actually what the parasite was saying was not hypocritical. they kill humans in their idea of reducing the human population. its what we do to alot of animals/ecosystems. when one species of a certain animal becomes too great, it upsets the environment around them and disrupts the food chain. say, a certain fish lost its predators. the population of the fish will grow out of control and start affecting the enrivonrment around it. which is why we as humans, make sure to intervene when stuff like that happens. but whos there to control the spread of humanity? one day our planet will not handle our population. because we have no alpha predator that hunts us, our population will never stop growing. thats what he was trying to point out. how all our talks of conserving the planet is only done in consideration of humanity and not for the planet or the other species that live on it.
